Cody Draco 2,531
Yes, it's even worse than junk food. In 2003 the World Health Organization was about to release new guidelines on healthy eating, which would have recommended limiting intake of sugary foods, especially soda. However, under pressure from the sugar industry, the U.S. Congress threatened to withdraw all American funding to the organization and the W.H.O was forced to remove the anti-sugar parts from its healthy eating recommendations. Blackmail ha power! You can thank Michelle Obama! Destroying America's school lunches since 2010! I drink soda all of the time and I'm not obese. Fat people ruining everything and making the world change for them.
Goosey 3,017
Well even during Bush's time, school lunch was nasty. But a soda machine would be nice at the very least. Plus, this kid is from Alberta. Michelle had no powah over this You're not from Alberta though so you can thank Michelle Obama "I am the world's greatest person that does not want to let people into the country."—US President Donald J. Whispering 18,865
Just bring your lunch, if you don't like the school food. If you have to have soda, bring a can and buy some ice from the cafeteria. If ice isn't available, wait until after school. You aren't going to die because you had to drink water for lunch. vespertine 3
Soda is disgusting. They have to add chemicals to it to keep you from vomiting profusely from the other chemicals in the soda. Soda is on par with nicotine, alcohol, and d--g addiction. The chemical reactions in your brain that soda is giving you are the same chemical reactions from other addictive substances. STOP damaging your body, and support it instead with WATER :tea:

It still spikes your bloodsugar. It doesn't matter if you are fat or not, soda is bad for you regardless. They shouldn't sell diet soda in schools either. School lunches are a pathetic excuse for food sure, but soda won't make up for that
xoxo cupcakke 4,781
My school has a soda machine for teachers but that doesn't stop kindergarteners through seniors from buying pop. It's technically illegal but our school doesn't do anything about it because that's kind of one of the ways they make money. A small school's got to do what a random Madonna does just to seem relevant. Jk, though. LOL.
DrewStevens 5,249
He deserved it. Bring your soda to school and drink it, but don't involve other people. I used to drink Skyy Blue at high school, but I wasn't stupid enough to sell them...
craig 680
"Soda" is such a foreign term here We call it "Soft Drink" Where are you from? Within the US there are 3 terms - Pop, Soda, and Coke (used generically). See map: http://www.popvssoda.com/ In Canada, it is pop (soda makes me think club soda or baking soda).
