They have to add chemicals to it to keep you from vomiting profusely from the other chemicals in the soda. Soda is on par with nicotine, alcohol, and d--g addiction. The chemical reactions in your brain that soda is giving you are the same chemical reactions from other addictive substances. Luc 4,776 Posted September 23, 2014 Share Posted September 23, 2014 I decided not to drink soda for some time like 3 months ago, and now I just don't like it anymore I don't get why it tastes good the sparkling part is the sugar is way too much yet not enough and the taste is just close to non-existent. In 2003 the World Health Organization was about to release new guidelines on healthy eating, which would have recommended limiting intake of sugary foods, especially soda. However, under pressure from the sugar industry, the U.S. Congress threatened to withdraw all American funding to the organization and the W.H.O was forced to remove the anti-sugar parts from its healthy eating recommendations.
