She is kinda having a meltdown, i mean i saw all her tweets about positive reviews and "JAZZ EXPERTS"

lmao this is just sad...

I tought she wanted to focus on her music and life , not fishing positive reviews with c2c.

The jazz experts are the people in the best position to give an accurate review of this album. Their reviews set the baseline for the true quality of C2C. This separates the honest reviewers from the disingenuous reviewers who just say what their readers want to hear ... hate against Gaga. The negative reviewers are just proving themselves to be unprofessional slaves of their readership rather than honest unbiased reviewers. Gaga's tweets are not a meltdown in any way whatsoever.

Who gives a **** about the critics? She didn't do it to please the critics, she was given the opportunity of a lifetime to collaborate with a legend, and Tony helped her get her confidence back, she's having a great time promoting the album, and so far it looks like it's going to sell very well, so she shouldn't let a couple of bad reviews get to her.

Gaga's fans are starting to sound like a bunch of martyrs and whiners.  It's embarrassing.  So far it's at 70, which is a very good rating.  I consider an 80 excellent, because you see few over 80.   His last album,Duets II, with many revered artists got a 72.

Barbra Streisand's album, Partners, just got a 52.   Compare that to Cheek 2 Cheek and you should be ecstatic.

Gaga's performance with Tony from many jazz fans I've read have been very positive and pleasantly surprised,  saying she's good and even great on many songs where she's more nuanced in delivery and with time will be even better.  Gaga is a little uneven on a few songs as far as oversinging or shouty.  It's a duets, and in some songs he's done a better duet with other people.  The reviews overall have been very positive, with all seeing even more promise for the future.

This the media is out to get her on here is becoming embarrassing.   Gaga is fast becoming the Sarah Palin of pop.  She and her fans playing (for Palin the liberal media)  the-media-are-out-to-get-me victim card way too often.

I say, congratulations, Gaga.  Job well done for your first jazz album.

This. C2C is quite an accomplishment for someone known for pop music. Gaga should be extremely proud that jazz experts love it. She has every right to tweet plenty about this achievement. This is a major milestone in her life. It opens doors for this good person who is so deserving of a bright future. Sure she will probably return to pop, but the important thing is she is happy now ... very happy.

Its a jazz american classics album.

We had a few possibilities:

Neg critic/poor sales

Pos critic/poor sales

Neg critic/good sales

pos critic/good sales

and a few in between

It's doing great. My grandparents are loving it while they drink wine from their cellar. I like it. My friends like it. Sounds like a win to me.

Or are we asking the world to errupt into a pedestal because Tony and Gaga made an album of songs that have been done an INFINITE amount of times by legends for decades and expect Gaga to be considered by every critic as the end all be all of these classics instantly? Even if she were, do you really think they'll call her over Ella and her peers? For heavens sakes. Olive Garden is going to have this playing on their PA and I bet it'll turn into an opportunity at a Bond theme a few years down the line.

She won. Enjoy the album.

I think they're being bitter towards her because she basically discredited their jobs as critics. Remember the whole "you wouldn't correct a French paper if you couldn't speak French" or whatever

They want to destroy her

Like seriously, everyone is out to get Gaga.It makes me mad because they're paying more attention to the artist than the art. Like, I'd like to see those critics pull out a Jazz album with Tony Bennet, break a hip through rigorous choreography just to willingly please fans, work with Beyoncé, get at least one Billboard number one record, and fight for civil rights. I know I shouldn't pay attention to these critics but they know bashing Gaga is the way to get the money. How #musicnotthebling of them

Most of the reviews have actually been really positive.  It's just Billboard and Rolling Stone who were lukewarm about it, and Slate that hated it.  Other than that, the reviews have been great.  Besides, Metacritc is not that effective for music.

By far. The meltdown is among "fans" like the OP. I doubt Gaga gives a **** about Metacritic. At this point, I don't think anyone else should, either.

God. First people are saying ARTPOP "flopped," ignoring the sales and its successes, and now they're ignoring C2C's positive reviews because there were a few bad ones. :smh:

No. On the contrary, I think the reviews in general are fairly positive. Even the ones from Billboard and RollingStone, 60 is satisfactory and nowhere near negative or be worthy of a negative reaction from the readers or the artists themselves. The only negative review I've read so far was from Slant, which, as I've said in the past, is nothing but a pile of bull****. I'm sure everyone else, who's not easily susceptible to shameless anti-Gaga propaganda, would let that review slide and just take it as serious as an article from the likes of Angela Cheng. As far as I'm aware of, there's no bashing spree happening for Gaga or her fans to be disappointed this early.

Well I'm pretty sure all the jazz reviewers who've reviewed it have given it good reviews? I don't think she'll meltdown over it though. There is still a bias against her at the minute though and I'm sure she's aware of that.

This.  So far the jazz experts gave it positive reviews (80), and that's the only people who count.  Gaga WOULD have a meltdown if jazz specialists panned it.

I just find it unethical if you don't know anything about jazz to give a review, which I see in Slant, Billboard and Rolling Stones.  It's like me, who know nothing about soccer, to rate players and proclaim my opinion as definitive.  Utterly disgusting!
