nativenewyorker 1,190 Posted February 4, 2012 Share Posted February 4, 2012 So I was thinking about why such a perfect song like Marry the Night can only peak at #29 but songs like California Gurls and Tik Tok can go #1 easily. Only reason I could think of is that they're very generic and the general public doesn't like songs that stray too far from what they're used to hearing. I thought it'd be funny to make Marry the Night sound as generic as the rest of Dr. Luke's productions, so I made a quick instrumental rip off of California Gurls/Tik Tok and added the Marry the Night acapella. It sounds so wrong..
