Please re-read:

"You know, people wrote a lot of things about my last album, ARTPOP, which was very controversial. If it didn’t grab the whole world the way The Fame Monster did, that’s okay, because I know it’s good. That’s what Tony has taught me, that my intuition is right."

Nowhere does she says she is disappointed with ARTPOP, on the contrary she knows "it's good".

"that's what tony has taught me" implies she didn't always think that. She also said before that she didn't even want to sing any more at one point. I thought it was pretty clear what she meant. We all have times when we doubt ourselves and our accomplishments. It's just surprising to hear Gaga admit that.

there is no "jazz aesthetic".

she didn't say that.

I hope that these past few months and the next few months are periods of recovery and strengthening her own confidence and getting in touch with what inspires her. I hope that she, with the help of Tony, can build an armor that protects her from the criticism and expectations of the world. From the interview it seems like Tony is helping her self determination and acceptance of criticism which will only help her life long career. He's reminding her the joy of creating for the sake of creating, as an artist she will always be a creator.

I can't say that I am thrilled for a low key Gaga,  but if its what she needs to heal then I'm all for it. But I want it on the record that I love our Glam Pop Queen/FishnetHotMessRockGa.

She was disappointed in the people who used her and let her down. She was upset with the close friends that betrayed her.

That wasn't being disappointed in herself over ARTPOP and she wasn't upset with her accomplishments. That's not what Gaga said in the interview:

You felt like giving up? Why?

LG: I’m not going to say any names, but people get irrational when it comes to moneyâ€â€with how they treat you, with what they expect from you. … But if you help an artist, it doesn’t give you the right, once the artist is big, to take advantage of them. … I was so sad. I couldn’t sleep. I felt dead. And then I spent a lot of time with Tony. He wanted nothing but my friendship and my voice. [she begins to cry.]

On another note its nice to see a photo of Tony and Gaga without a buttload of random filters that make Tony look like death with all them shadows. They both look healthy and vibrant in the color photo.

I'm so happy that her working with, and being friends with Tony seems to have rejuvenated her spirit, she must've felt pretty f*cking low if she thought about giving up.

VforVendetta

Wow, she actually acknowledged ARTPOP not being quite up there with some of her previous work...I thought I would never hear her say something like that. Obviously, though, Tony's had a great impact on her life, especially recently when she's been feeling not quite up to par. Im happy for their friendship.

She NEVER said that.
