You mean soccer?

I came in here thinking you meant actual football

Actual football is what American people refer to as 'soccer'.

Just because America calls their weird hand egg sport "football" doesn't mean the rest of the world does  :toofunny:

American "Football" is just a weak version of Rugby anyway :lolgaga:

But how is this supposed to help the fight against homophobia?

And nobody will see those laces in the first place while they are playing?

Is this just for promotional intentions for the Spanish brand of shoes 'Puma'?

Actually European football boots are very stylish and people talk about them often. Hopefully this will raise awareness and respect :)

A promotional campaign that individuals can actively participate in raises awareness and also strikes up conversations. Also the people see you in the video are all players from one of the biggest teams in the Premier league so having them be part of the faces of the campaign reinforces the message, that homophobia should not be in football.

It's all in support of Stonewall which is a lesbian, gay and bis-xual charity - http://www.stonewall.org.uk/what_we_do/9258.asp

I live in a very liberal country where about 95%+ of the votes in the parlement are pro-Gay rights, and about 90% of the population supports gay rights. But yet when you're at a football match, you'll hear people screaming things like 'Vieze homo!' (dirty gay), 'Kuthomo' (vagina gay :toofunga: ), and most people who still use words like 'fag', 'gaaayyy', 'homo' to describe something bad are straight males who watch football every day. Changing the culture is important to change this way of thinking, and the best way to do is by showing that people with a lot of respect and might from those people are against homophobia.
