CNN Newsroom at 7:00 CT had a segment that reported on the peaceful protests.

They also interviewed the other young man who was involved in the altercation. Interestingly enough, NO ONE in charge asked for HIS STORY! Until today, no one had asked him to come in and give an account of his version of the events. THAT, in and of itself, sent up several red flags in my mind. The local police have just now asked him to drop by, at his convenience, to give his report of what he says happened.

I need to find a link for that. I saw a youtube post that a witness uploaded talking about what he saw. It may be the same person.

And in regards to what you're saying, you're totally correct. Let's break it down:

When you have a crime committed and someone dies, and it's most likely a murder... they call up detectives, ambulances, whatever. The professionals do their thing in regards to the body and such. Allegedly his body was left in the street for four hours, with no ambulances, EMTs or anything coming to his aid. He had already been dead, but I assume they must show up anyways.(?) The only people who showed up after the killing were more cops. A body being left for four hours... a summer day, about 80 degrees with a dead body laying in plain sight... That's already another issue.

They then move on from there to looking for key witnesses. They had key witnesses willing to talk, but they never took the time to consult with them. Usually in cases like this, no one wants to talk, but the one time they wanted to, the police weren't having it. So now that people (journalists who work for huge outlets included) are on their asses, now they want to find the witness? That's a little questionable. In no way am I a pro at this type of stuff, but logic would tell you that you need the witnesses now.

I smell a really huge lawsuit. What kind of bizarre conspiracy is this? :wtf:

Paper Planes

The title of this thread is misleading. Here I was thinking the entire state was affected or something :rip:

It's a very unfortunate situation though. The police need to co-operate with the media and let them do their jobs. They can't arrest them for doing their jobs. Interviewing witnesses is the media's right and the people have a right to the information the media receives. The cops are trying to some massive cover-ups now.

It was an interview with the teen friend, who was with Michael Brown when he was shot. They were both involved in the altercation. I can't understand why he hasn't been questioned by the police!

The interview was conducted by Wolf Blitzer. Maybe that will help you find it.

Police coverups are nothing new. In the UK we had the Hillsborough Disaster and the Miner's Strikes that were shrouded in mystery following coverups. Fastforward 20 years and Twitter is infiltrating the government. It's poetic, really.

All I can say is that once again it's guns guns guns. Regardless of who's hands they're in, someone's gonna get shot.

You would think this story would be national news but here we are with this story trying to be covered up by the police department threatening media outlets and citizens there who are recording the incidents. The only way Ive been truly informed of what has been going on the past few days in regards to all of this has been through my twitter. It truly is a damn shame this happened and it also kind of sucks how the peaceful protests turned into riots and looting because it shifted away the attention from the murder to the chaos. And no, as always we aren't saying all cops are bad, but the truth is all cops are in a position of power over regular civilians and most cops use this power with such foolishness that they shoot a 17 year old kid 10 times...I mean for what?

Often times the reason why peaceful protests turn to riots is because a lot of times, in an age of heightened police brutality, officers forget the U.S. citizens have the constitutional right to peaceful protest, and just unload on them first.

We have forgotten our public MANNERS

This, MOST officers of the law take an oath and work very hard to uphold that oath  ...Every once in a while you hear of the crooked ones, which there are many... but ive seen no one on GGD (or anywhere really) actually praise a police officer, or speak kindly of one. Its a thankless job. People want you when you need them, and treat you like **** when they dont. I never see or hear anyone that will try to find a story where a police officer did something great. Because they do all the time, it's a shame these terrible, crooked, awful ones get all the media attention and make law enforcement officers everywhere (even at federal level) look bad :emo:

The media has never ever showed police doing good deeds? Ever? As in 0? Doubtful. The one that immediately comes to mind is the officer that brought milk to a family that was in a sealed off zone during the chase of the Boston Marathon bomber. That was talked about and used by many as an indicator of their humanity, which is true.

What I don't appreciate, however, is that this story (among others) is somehow supposed to negate the numerous other cases of corruption and abuse done by officers, who are not above scrutiny and never should be. As if they suddenly never happened and swept under the rug as paid leave and such. If they've done something wrong, they should be held accountable. Feel-good stories are great but how do they help in reducing flagrant abuses of power? Police departments do not want bad PR like this, as it strains the relationship with the local community, so there should always be active attempts to fight corruption, and not just for PR's sake.

This. There's tons of good stories about police officers doing the right thing.

If you opened up the Yahoo page, they would paint a bad image of the Ferguson people protesting and rioting acting as if they're in the wrong. Many major outlets putting emphasis on "shouts of people screaming Kill the police!" No I don't support looting, but why are these people acting up? Because a cop killed someone. Most of the news I've seen on tv and online, they're showing how crazy the people are getting, not what caused the drama. Lol.

If anything, the media tries covering up the bad stuff police officers do! People will do everything and the most to defend cops if they've never had run ins with them or if their community isn't affected by their acts of rage. :dies: It may seem like I'm coming off as a cop-bashing black guy. I put my trust in those who are trying to help out the communities, but I'm not putting my trust in someone who has the potential to put hot lead in my head for simply looking "suspicious" when I've got nothing on me to hurt anymore.

Bottom line, some people who haven't had any bad experiences with cops want nothing to do with the victims; they just want to make cops look like okay guys, yet they will be so quick to ask "What did the guy who got shot do? What was he wearing? Was he a gang-banger? Not all police are bad!?" without even attempting to sympathize with the one dead. Dude was about starting college this week. Pathetic.

This won't prove whether he was innocent, but let's put it all into perspective:

1. Michael Brown was due to begin college this past Monday.

2. He graduated high school a few months ago.

3. It's been confirmed that Brown had no criminal record prior to his death.

Seems like a normal guy to me? I mean, even if he did have a past record, does that still warrant being killed? :wtf:
