giskardsb 12,565
I keep seeing this posted here but I really doubt Gaga is treating this as a side project. The fact that she's still tweaking vocal parts tells me she's taking it very seriously, as well as her constant reminders of it now. I guarantee that Tony isn't treating it as a side project. His life is making jazz albums, this is an important release for him. it seems like some fans here don't want to believe that this album may be just as important to Gaga as any of her others. She is the one that called Tony and said she wanted to make the album. This album will paint Gaga in a whole new light for a lot of people. It's an important album for her, she'll give it everything she has, like all her other projects. I have the feeling some fans are subconsciously afraid that C2C may be just the first move of Gaga from a career of pure pop music to a more varied career including styles they may not like. So, they are finding ways to belittle the effort in hopes that she's not really "serious" about it and just playing at making some jazz music for fun. I'm here for all-genre Gaga personally; but in particular her jazz and broadway chops are sublime and need to be featured by her in various ways for the rest of her career. I'm not saying she should stop doing pop. But of all the major pop girls, Gaga is the most likely, and most able, to mature her career in a variety of directions, rather than trying to maintain a pop status of queen of the dance floor in her 40's and 50's. I love much of Gaga's harder electronic stuff, but I look forward to hearing her voice shine. I'm looking more forward to this album than any other she's done, it will be a defining moment for her. Didymus 34,380
I seriously believe that it became more than a side project because her own era did worse than expected. Maybe the album was pushed back so much for that reason? I often refer to it as a "side project" to comment on some of the fans treating this album as her "big comeback" (yeah right) that will make people fall in love with her again. I mean, no. Alien Tulip 12,428
To me its still a side project since she said so herself plus it wont have an actual long era I'm sure and a very short tour. The fame perfume was a side project and she took it just as serious as this album.
No Angel 128
If Gaga is putting her vocals on it, and she's apart of every single song, I'm assured she's not treating it as a side-project. She's a perfectionist, and when I hear people say "side-project" I almost get the feeling that they think it's just something she's doing for fun to pass time. It probably was some sort of a side project at first to accompany ARTPOP, but after this era she's treating it as something more. I think she's serious about C2C, whether people want to believe it or not.
SychosSoChic 9,995
Really? All I've seen are fans getting hyped (maybe even too hyped) for the album But then maybe that's coz I avoid most C2C threads if I see them Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us. mcphee 1,790
I'm really excited for the album, even though it isn't my actual style of music. I think it's really exciting that we're getting new music from Gaga, unlike anything we've had before, and even better - It's a full album! I'm not exactly counting down the days, but my excitement for the project/album is there. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes of it all. I don't really understand people acting so immature about the whole thing, it just seems really pointless. It's going to happen whether people like it or not. calmar 22,281
I don't care whether it's a side project or her main project. I'd love to hear new music which allows her to explore her jazz roots. 俺の勝利は揺るぎない
Alien Tulip 12,428
I really don't think people are being immature about this at all I just think some people like me don't really care for this album. Of course I'll listen to the songs and watch performances but it wont be anything exciting for me since most of the album is probably covers and in my honest opinion I don't think Gaga is really that good in jazz, she's just decent as opposed to someone like amy winehouse who excelled in that genre. I am looking forward for the songs she wrote like paradise. For now I'm only looking forward for her real next album.
