I have white, asian, and black friends who wears pants to their knees and I have the same amount who DOESNT... this isnt about race... this is about crappy clothing... Not all black people dress like whatever your head seems to think they do... the ignorance in your posts are astounding.. Part of me wants to let you keep going. If you automatically assume that this is targeted towards african americans, then maybe YOU'RE the one using racial profiling. Whites, Latins and Asians can all wear those types of clothes.. Yes, because they had to work and manipulate the system to get their platform. They couldn't just go on a TV show and speak the truth, they had to play the game of the system and then use that platform once it was given to them to voice out the true inequality. And I know a lot of white people that wear jerseys and hats...not only black people dress in those items. I wish some of you were Black in an all-white environment for a day. You would not survive and would be trying to get out of your skin. It's so funny, even when us black men are dressing and acting "right" to White standards, we're still a threat to society. This thread is comical. Specifically white trans people who face it far worse than cis black people do. Yes, all races have the ability to dress in this style. 3. To deny that this style originated in black communities and is more common in black communities is laughable. 4. Like I said, to deny that this dress code will disproportionately affect a specific race is laughable. 5. To assert that me saying this means I'm racist or ignorant is laughable. 6. You literally used the word "ratchet" to describe this style of dress earlier. If this isn't coded racism, I don't know what is. 7. I could easily, easily assert that you using the word "ratchet" to describe this style of dress is a connection of the style of dress to African-Americans. 8. You're telling me that there would be no difference between wearing a suit and tie and wearing raggedy, torn-up clothes? Both are extremes, but they are examples of different mannerisms. It is perfectly understandable for a club to have restrictions on clothing that is not fit for a high-end club. Would you go to a fancy club in athletic gear? Would you go to your best friend's wedding wearing a belly shirt and a short shorts? I do think that they should have included more restrictions on their list (like belly-shirts and short shorts, for example) but there's nothing wrong with a classy club wanting you to dress classy.
