CHANTEL 2
Just saw this thread again and lurked through the pages but This point bothers me so much, the fact that most of the Arab world is not giving a flying **** about whats happening to Christians in Iraq and Syria is disturbing, and I'm saying this as an Arab Christian myself. I'm lebanese and honestly in Lebanon 90% of the conversations are about ISIS and the whole thing, It's also a big topic where I live (UAE), I can't judge about other countries, but it's really important in those two countries, EVERYONE talks about it

lego 44,165
Family of Israeli soldier: Army responsible for his suicide The elite Givati Brigade within the Israeli army has been trying to understand the reasons why three of the soldiers who took part in the recent aggression on Gaza committed suicide. It said it has been trying to investigate the impact the operations and the battles in Gaza against the Palestinian resistance left on the Israeli soldiers and on the rest of the army personnel. Mako website, part of Israel's Channel 2, has quoted the family of one of the soldiers who committed suicide as saying that their son "was suffering as a result of the scenes of killing and destruction inside the Gaza Strip" and that "he could not part with the images of the corpses of children he used to see in the streets". It added that he suffered "tough feelings", especially during the days that preceded taking his own life. The family held the Israeli army responsible for the incidents of suicide among its soldiers saying: "The army could have prevented these incidents. The army is responsible." A soldier from the Givati Brigade said: "I saw lots of bodies on the front and lots of atrocities. These young men who come to these places go through an extremely bad experience." He called on the army to take "the necessary measures" to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future. The Israeli army is trying to bring an end to suicides by means of a psychiatric health programme. The army has been transmitting telephone messages to regular and reserve soldiers who took part in the war on Gaza calling on them to receive psychiatric treatment. The website said that the Israeli army has made preventing suicides amongst soldiers a top priority. On the other hand, the Palestinian media have said that the causes prompting the three soldiers to commit suicide are not restricted to seeing the scenes of killing and destruction resulting from the Israeli aggression itself, for these soldiers are used to killing unarmed civilians and seeing the body parts of innocent child victims. Rather, they explain, the matter is to do with going into the Gaza Strip and engaging in the ground battle, in particular. This is at least what some Palestinian websites, such as the Palestine Information Centre (PIC) and Safa agency have been saying. Some Palestinians have said that the horror experienced by the elite soldiers within the Israeli army after invading Gaza and the impact of the tunnels used by the resistance fighters on them is what drove them to commit suicide. On Tuesday, Yedioth Ahronoth disclosed that three Israeli soldiers who took part in "Operation Protective Edge" against the Gaza Strip committed suicide. The paper explained that the occupation army's leadership is checking the possibility that these soldiers killed themselves due to their experience during the events and because they had had tough experiences. It further explained that the soldiers were found with their weapons next to their bodies. The Hebrew website Walla said: "Although the war is over, another battle has begun and that is the battle of rehabilitating the soldiers and healing the wounds that may accompany them for the rest of their lives." http://www.middleeastmonitor.com/news/middle-east/14489-family-of-israeli-soldier-army-responsible-for-his-suicide FreePalestine

She says that the image Israel has all over the world is wrong, and she says many good things about us. It means she supports us. Who said that she is the cause? Hamas is the cause. The truth is she says this about almost every country. She praised Dubai and UAE, she said she always dreamed of going to the Middle East and see her fans there, she said she wants to speak Arabic so bad, and she tried, she said I love you Dubai, shukran etc, she said she'll respect their culture and she was amazed how they treated her like a princess. She had the best hotel suite and private beach for her and Haus and birthday party. And that still doesn't mean that she agrees and supports all their laws and politics. In fact, we know very well that she'd be against many of those, but she chose not to speak about them. Many Americans have bad image of Arabs and I'm sure if they'd tell her their biased opinion she would say they got the image wrong. It's funny how some of you teens take everything what she says like some God's word in Holy Scripture. When it comes to Israel, she's like most of the Americans, uninformed or(and) brainwashed. lego 44,165
Now that I've got some time to reply... You underestimate gaga too much.. If you think that all of the Americans are dumb, and brainwashed, you are very racist, that's not true. So if someone likes Israel is brainwashed? You have many unnecessary statements, as the "brainwashed" Americans and Zionists... It's disgusting! And the line you wrote about the teens This is very offensive and supercilious! The fact that you are 10 years older than others doesn't mean you are smarter or more educated! Oh, and I have never met a pro-Palestinian the is a peace activist And gaga says she has good connections with Israeli politicians and she knows about all these things that happen here. You think Gaga is stupid... No, you overestimate her. She's not 'the Second Coming'', she never showed great knowledge of world politics, especially in the Middle East. How is that racist? I said MOST of the Americans are UNINFORMED OR(AND) BRAINWASHED when it comes to Palestine and Israel. They are either uninformed or brainwashed, or both. Their source is mostly FOX(FAUX) NEWS and Sean Hannity, and their government is Israel's biggest ally so...it's the truth. There is nothing racist about it, I didn't say they're dumb, those are your own words and you shouldn't lie. And look, I'll back this up Five questions most Americans can't answer...... Who is the current prime Minister of Israel? Some 38% chose Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's premier, from the list. Ariel Sharon was chosen by 11%, Hosni Mubarak by 7% :toofloppy: and David Cameron by 1%. The largest group of respondents, at 43% were the don't knows.... By contrast, just 19% of those under 30 could correctly identify Benjamin Netanyahu as Israel's prime minister, compared with 48% of those 65 and older.http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-29465337 And about being a teen, sorry but when you grow up a bit after some 15, 20 years and look back at what you did or believed as a child or a teen, you'll most likely laugh. I didn't say I'm smarter, but I'm not that naive as I was when I was a teen, and as my friends were. I see the same in you. There is nothing offensive about it. That is life, with years of life experience and thirst for knowledge your views will expand and you'll get more wiser, not everyone(!), but just in general. You won't just repeat what your parents are telling you or what you see on tv, you'll learn how to seek knowledge by yourself and have your own mind. Again, I'm talking in general. And you haven't met a Jew who is pro Palestine and a peace activist? Try to look for Norman Finkelstein, Elizabeth Tsurkov, Miko Peled, David Sheen, Noam Chomsky, Stanley Cohen, organization Jews for Peace etc. I'm sure you could meet many of them face to face, maybe you can convince them to become anti Palestine. lol And no, Gaga is not stupid. But ignorant of the subject, yes. She doesn't know everything. And she didn't say she supports your government actions in Gaza. Its funny how you're the only uninformed and brainwashed person here. Your statements about Jewish people in "good-positions" bordline antisemetisem. If i was a Muslim I'd prefer taking care of my people first instead of looking for ways to bring down Israel. I said Zionists, not Jewish people, but nice try. Zionism is not Judaism. And that is something what many of you are proud of, how many Hollywood stars have Jewish roots and how many support Israel, it's all in Israeli news sites. It has nothing to do with antisemitism. Every little flaw? Your country doesn't have little flaws, it's an apartheid state which is constantly expanding, killing innocent people(and children), harassing and imprisoning innocent people(even children), keeping people on their own land under siege, denying them basic human rights, bombing their schools and homes to the ground and refusing to pay for the damage, the list goes on... What else I have in my life is none of your damn business. I chose what to write here and I chose what to keep out of this site, and your petty insults are just showing lack of arguments on the subject. And your last sentence is borderline Islamophobic, since you believe that everyone who is criticizing your country must be a Muslim. And while ago you blamed the whole religion for 9/11. Bravo. You know nothing about zionism, do yourself a favour and put it to rest. There's nothing Islamophobic in this last sentence. Absolutely nothing. The fact that I expect Muslims to do something against those barbaric Islamists means that I hold the same standarts for them as any other human being. As anyone else who thinks rationally. And I never said anyone who criticize Israel must be a Muslim, that's a thing you just came up with on your own probably. Keep spreading these lies ms. lego. You're that best at it. An "apartheid" state where all citiznes enjoys equality in law, a state that takes care of the injured and sick citizens of its poor neighbor countries, a country where gays are accepted and not executed, just like in those other places where Muslim terrorists are hiding in schools and hospitals, between women and children, knowing they are risking their lives, just to avoid from any back-fire after they intentionally targted innocent civilians with rockets. lego 44,165
Israel Tries To Brand Itself as a Peaceful, Democratic Oasis. Don't Fall For It The state of Israel brands itself as a peaceful, democratic, civilized oasis, steadfast in the midst of a hostile desert, surrounded by barbarity and threats to its very existence.None of it is true.Greater Israel is increasingly a rampaging Zionist project that has lost its sense of Judaism, and its democratic, civilized ideals. It is a militarized, racist, apartheid country that denies and negates the rule of international law at every convenience as it deludes itself and its allies by manipulating the memory of one of history's most hideous moments: the holocaust.Memories of the obscenity of the holocaust should teach values of cultural pluralism, empathy and acceptance of the "other", tolerance and respect for the downtrodden.Instead, it is being exploited to serve the darker agenda of an ethnocentric, imperial, settler/colonial polity.Renowned author Ilan Pappe explains these subterranean manipulations in The Idea Of Israel:"From vindication of the brutal killing of Palestinians in 1948 and subsequently, in the war against Palestinian infiltrations, through the instigation of public panic on the eve of the 1967 war, to the justification of intransigent official positions on peace following the war, to the present oppressive policies against the Palestinians in the occupied territories, -- Holocaust memory has been a supremely useful and accessible means of silencing criticism and pushing a policy of belligerence."A snap-shot of the "policy of belligerence" embraced by modern-day Israel looks like this:Palestinian Israelis are second-class citizens. The Admissions Committee Law, for example -- which was recently upheld by the Israeli Supreme Court -- legalizes racial segregation. According to this law, 43% of Israeli residential areas are legally entitled to deny entrance to Palestinian Arab citizens of the Israeli state. Most of this land, to which the Palestinians are not welcome, was originally confiscated from Palestinian refugees. Clearly, legal segregation laws are not compatible with "democracy" or "moral governance".Israel's segregationist policies extend outwards as well. Israel engages in serial denial and negation of international law by constructing and maintaining rather than dismantling its Separation/Apartheid walls. The International Criminal Court (ICJ) ruled in 2004 that the West Bank wall was "illegal in its entirety," and that compensation should be paid to those affected. Additionally, the U.N General Assembly passed a resolution supporting the ICJ's call to dismantle the wall. Not surprisingly, construction and maintenance of the Gaza "security fence" as well as the West Bank Apartheid wall, continues to this day.Furthermore, the blockage of Gaza -- a strip of land on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, has essentially reduced Gaza to the status of a "concentration camp". Professor Richard Falk -- world-renowned professor of international law and the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied territories - characterizes the blockade of Gaza as collective punishment, and therefore a violation of the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law.The notion that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) is "moral" or "righteous" also rings hollow: during the recent invasion of Gaza, known euphemistically as Operation Protective Edge, Israeli's military murdered 501 children, and 1,473 civilians, plus 157 combatants.Palestinian combatants killed 71 Israelis: 66 soldiers, one security coordinator, four civilians, and a foreign national. In what appears to be yet another operation of ethnic cleansing, Israel also targeted schools, hospitals, and the sole power station.Operation Protective Edge seemingly satisfies the definition of "genocide", as defined by Articles II and III of the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide:"Article II: In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group, as such:(a) Killing members of the group;(b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;© Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;(d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;(e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.Article III: The following acts shall be punishable:(a) Genocide;(b) Conspiracy to commit genocide;© Direct and public incitement to commit genocide;(d) Attempt to commit genocide;(e) Complicity in genocide. "In an earlier article, I referenced the slaughter of North America's indigenous peoples starting in 1492, and I remarked that the genocidal cycles are repeating themselves time and again. If humanity were to internalize the real lessons of the holocaust, we could break these toxic cycles and avert further disasters. The on-going tragedies in Palestine (and elsewhere), however, indicate that we have failed to learn our lessons.
