  7. Lemme guess the plot A Sim wakes up in Sim World (cue joke about the "Plumbob" and "Simlish") and the world is great Our main character Sim suddenly has very odd thoughts set to the theme of, oh idk, a Lizzo song (just as an example) Said Sim then seeks help from an outcast Sim that informs them about the real world MC Sim travels to the real world, getting into all kinds of whacky misunderstandings because of how different the worlds are The player that controlled our Sim is found and they work together to overcome some obstacle or bad guy Our Sim decides to stay in the real world because they've learned a lesson about what it means to be a woma- I mean, a real person with free will in a world where your decisions and actions matter The end

  13. It’s not just a white man singing it. It’s a country artist, that sung it with country anunciation, vocals, and traditional country instruments. It’s a folk song that’s was remade as countless other songs have been, into a different genre. Was Whitney Houston’s version of “I will always love you” awarded country awards, when the original version by Dolly Parton was a country song? No it wasn’t. Thats because it was remade into a pop song. I don’t understand how you don’t understand this? You are reaching so hard for a victim narrative. You understand the difference between folk music and country music right? You understand the original version of Fast Car was not a country song, but was a folk pop song right? It’s two different genres of music.

  16. This is pretty big given she has a country music background. She has stood up for LGBT folks on numerous occasions. She honestly giving queen behavior. She could have also sat there and done nothing. She was also on Drag Race not too long ago. From her Wikipedia page: In 2017, Morris started the Heroes Fund and raised $70,000 to East Nashville Magnet High School that went towards their music and drama departments. In April 2021, Morris donated $300,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Together We Rise and Ecologi. In August 2021, Morris joined several country artists to raise money for the program Together: Feeding Nashville. The concert raised money to address food insecurity in the Nashville area. A total of $450,000 was raised from the show. Morris has been an advocate for making the country genre more equitable for fellow artists. She has commented on the inequalities particularly for white and black artists in the genre. "I'm a white woman in country music. I already have this sort of leg-up. There's a huge disparity between men and women in our genre, there's even more of a disparity between white women and black women trying to be in country music," she told The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2021. In her 2020 CMA Awards acceptance speech, Morris named several black artists who helped make the award possible including Mickey Guyton, Linda Martell and Brittney Spencer. In early 2021, Morris spoke out against country artist Morgan Wallen when a video of him using a racial slur surfaced. "You can't control a human being, but you absolutely can let them know where you stand," she told Variety. In August 2022, Morris replied to an Instagram post made by Jason Aldean's wife, Brittany. Both Morris and other country music singers including Cassadee Pope perceived Aldean's comments as transphobic. While interviewing Brittany Aldean, Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson referred to Morris as a "lunatic country music person." In response to this comment, Morris sold T-shirts through her website featuring the phrase "lunatic country music person" and the telephone number of the Trans Lifeline. She also stated that proceeds from the shirts would be donated to GLAAD. In September 2022, Morris partnered with GLAAD to design a new T-shirt in honor of Spirit Day. Morris told The Los Angeles Times in September 2023 that she planned to leave the genre of country music. She cited the country music industry's unwillingness to reckon with issues of misogyny and racism, as well as its reluctance to support artists from marginalized demographics, as her reasons for doing so. I guess she sorta is a humanitarian.

  18. Hold up... She made some points tho. I'm all for black women finally being seen in the country genre, don't get me wrong. I'm horrified that for Tracy Chapman to finally get any recognition, her song had to be covered by a white man. I also regard the majority of what AB has to say as psychobabble, but she really did make some points with this one.

  19. Azealia Banks has accused Beyonce of being in 'white woman cosplay' for her Cowboy Carter album cover as she slammed the 'boring and pretty' superstar in a wild social media rant this week. Banks also slated Beyonce's husband Jay-Z for 'overstrategizing everything' and said Beyonce needed to 'stop with the pity party' over criticism she had faced due to the new country album. She wrote: 'Gurrrr criticism from who? Please stop with the pity party and admit you got criticized the same way you did when you tried to slide Listen into Dream Girls despite it not being a part of the original score. [...] Banks then took aim at Rihanna's 'uninteresting' beginnings as a solo artist, writing: 'Someone tell Jay-Z his strategies are corny and Beyonce has better ideas I'll give it to him for turning an initially very uninteresting Rihanna into one of the world's biggest stars but he flopped with Rita and Meg and for the sake of all things grand should realize how much he cramps her diva style ugh 'Her legacy and freedom of expression is not his to share and I wish he would get over that. Sure Jay is an important figure in music but he is not the star that is Bianca Bardot.' source https://twitter.com/SomaKazima/status/1770377667436478632

  20. “Fast Car” was not a country song. It was a folk pop song in the 80s, written by a lesbian. Folk music is and has always been been in the lesbian community. I think you are getting folk music and country music confused. The original version shouldn’t be celebrated as a country song, as it never was one. It was a very successful folk song that soared up the pop charts. The new version is by Luke Combs- and it is a country version, sung by a country artist. Thats why the new version is being recognized as a country song. Tracy Chapman was never a country artist.

  31. This is a made up narrative regarding “fast car” by Tracy Chapman. People have wanted so bad for the narrative to be “country white man steals success of black Tracy chapman’s song”. The version by Tracy Chapman was #6 on the pop charts in 1988. She got plenty of recognition then. It’s like saying Dolly Parton never got recognition from “I will always love you” until Whitney Houston covered it. People reach so hard for victim situations they just make up narratives.

  36. Bad Bunny canceled his show in Minneapolis just two days before the event. Puerto Rican mega star Bad Bunny’s 3/23 concert at the Target Center in Minneapolis has been canceled, with local press reports citing “poor ticket sales as the culprit, an issue compounded by the steep prices for most seats.” Earlier this week, the arena's available tickets appeared to be less than half-sold for show, which would have been Bad Bunny’s first in the Twin Cities in six years. Ticketholders were sent alerts this morning that the gig was called off, and refunds or credits are being automatically sent via Ticketmaster. No plans were announced to reschedule. source

  37. A Sephora Live? Like that 13min thing she did in August about the concealer? Such low effort.. Why does it seem like Gaga related stuff since 2022 can be summed up as an instagram story and two posts? Even Fortnite: a couple of tweets and stories, not even with her talking to a camera. And no follow-up: check is banked, next deal. Gaga with Cotton On, Haus Labs, Fortnite, Nurtec, Dom Perignon, SSOH, ARTPOP 10yrs, Valentino :

  38. Beyoncé will appear at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to accept the honor during the April 1 ceremony hosted by Ludacris. She’s being recognized for her pioneering career: for decades of creative risks and influencing pop culture on a mass scale, as well as last year’s groundbreaking Renaissance World Tour. Ludacris will also perform, joining a previously announced lineup of Justin Timberlake, Green Day, TLC, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, and Tate McRae. Cher will be presented with the iHeartRadio icon award.

  39. I've been informed that I'm being way too intense and that I'm probably wrong, and that I should probably stop getting into fights online when I'm drinking wine. I appreciate your perspective, and you've given me something to think about tbh. We may disagree, but I do not think the points you have made have no merit. It's always refreshing to try to see things from someone else's perspective
