Idk if Gaga stans can convincingly maintain that announcing her new album at an award show was self-centered without also calling this out tho33 points

I posted this in the "Gaga in studio" thread, but @Schizophonic suggested I make it its own separate thread, so here we go Ok I have a wild ass theory, but stick with me... The outfits she wore in the posts last week resembled David Bowie's Thin White Duke persona. The fact that the photos were in black and white also matches the Thin White Duke aesthetics. From Wikipedia, "the Duke was a hollow man who sang songs of romance with an agonised intensity while feeling nothing, 'dry ice masquerading as fire'". Maybe the black heart emoji is a hint? 🖤 Bowie also described that persona as an "ogre", hence the ogre emoji. 👹 Now the alien emoji from her latest post? The Thin White Duke is a persona from Bowie's Station to Station album, which took inspiration from Bowie's film The Man Who Fell to Earth, where he plays an alien named Thomas Jerome Newton 👽 I'm thinking that Gaga is doing something similar with Joker 2. Maybe filming that movie—which she called a very introspective time for herself—influenced her to make an album somewhat inspired by it. Of course it's not a "Harley" album, but similar to how the Thin White Duke & Thomas Newton/The Man Who Fell to Earth influenced Bowie's Station to Station era, maybe Harley/Joker 2 influenced LG7 Ok that's all21 points

Honestly it's refreshing to see people talk about miss Swift so critically, it's been all over my fyp since the Grammys, she was just at the super bowl - omg she's EVERYWHERE yeah she did hijack the Grammys (a suit & tie/fancy/important event), it wasn't something more casual like the VMAs. It was just a bit tactless for her to announce on the stage. people act as if Taylor is this untouchable goddess that is absolved of criticism and I think people finally feeling ready to voice opinions they've held about her for a while. Who cares if she's on top and still winning? I'm over it. She's overexposed herself and it's getting old imo. also, she's not relatable anymore.18 points

Completely different circumstances, time, and content within pop culture. Gaga was not what Taylor has been the last 4+ years.18 points

So as we’re witnessing Mother EDGING us good I came up with something. What if she’s teasing the two universe. This means- purple aesthetics being the recording of the anlbum and the black one are the mixing and finishing LG7. As you can see in the purple one she’s around mics, thus meaning recording vocals and so on. meanwhile in the black ones she’s already outside of the recoding booth. We can see computers around her, mixing the album and being ready.so this means she’s done recording. What do we think sistrens?15 points

Not a swiftie or anything but hating on her/voicing your opinion only benefits her in the long run. Call her talentless, fake and a bitch but at the end of the day she's the one winning.15 points

Every reliable insider : She's coming very soon, most likely in February. Gaga herself : Is more active than she has been in ages, may have confirmed LG7 is completed and teases it HEAVILY. Some Monsters : "Don't get your hopes up, LG7 2025" I mean, what more do you need to get your hopes up ?!13 points

Gaga spoke from the heart, you can see how proud she is of her work and how much it means to her, because she put her heart and soul into it, and only hoped it would mean as much to her fans. Taylor’s, on the other hand, was a complete business move and a way to impose some weird dominance over her peers. Let’s not get things twisted.13 points

She saw that thread saying "GAGA MOVE SIS" after every pop girlie dropping their albums and really said chile i dont have more time lemme go real quick to the studio:13 points
