If i’m being totally honest, it’s the only truly genuine time that I ever thought badly of Gaga. It was such a shock to see this posted and watching the twitter reactions in realtime, I couldn’t help but feel they were justified** You could say that it was a partnership that meant something to her due to her experiences with chronic pain etc, but the corporate ass paid partnership plastered across her social media was very.. impersonal. Once you add to that the fact that they had the gumption to use professional Chromatica Ball footage, knowing well the chances of us ever seeing that are slim to none, it’s makes for a very distasteful ad post from her. **In saying that, there was a lot of downright nasty comments. And it saddens me that she more than likely had to see them, which then triggered her IG post addressing it all. The funny part of that post was her reassuring us about the TCB film, only for it not to come anyways

To be fair, Chromatica is “darker” compared to ARTPOP and Joanne. I’m not sure if we’re getting the “dark” we’re used to, though. I feel like she’s going for the “dark” side of the human, like deep reflections on life, death, religion, spirituality, faith, insecurity, need for love etc

With Joker coming later this year Gaga's return to dark would fit really well. Gaga's Harleen is going to be a dark and twisted Harley instead of the Harley that was shown as fun. So it would merge really well with the movie.

I don’t know if this has been posted here already but Gaga’s photos last night bear a strong resemblance to Bowie in his “Station to Station” era: In this era, he notably adopted the persona of The Thin White Duke (pictured above). This character was directly inspired by the role he played in the film “The Man Who Fell to Earth”, as was the entire album. We know that Gaga has long felt an affinity to this album and this persona, as the sixth episode of Gagavision was actually titled “The Thin White Duke”, way back in 2008. All of this begs the question… Could LG7 be Gaga’s own take on Bowie’s “Station to Station”, in that it is an album inspired by her experience of filming Joker 2? There are other parallels too… “Musically, Station to Station was a transitional album for Bowie, developing the funk and soul of Young Americans while presenting a new direction influenced by electronic music and the German music genre of krautrock. The lyrics reflected Bowie's preoccupations with Friedrich Nietzsche, Aleister Crowley, mythology and religion.” Funk, soul, electronic music, German-inspired rock music, mythology, religion… these are all things that we have also picked up from Gaga’s (albeit very limited) teasing of LG7. “Church”, “Magic potions take time”, the rock, funk and soul vibes. Bowie also considered this album to be “extremely dark”, which LG7 feels like it could be too based on the black heart, monster emoji and black/white aesthetic. I’m also wondering if the black heart could be a reference to Gaga’s love for Bowie, given his final album was titled “Black Star”. Perhaps LG7 really will be titled "Black Heart" in homage to him. Combined with the inevitability that LG7 will most likely take at least some inspiration from Joker 2, I think there is some weight to this theory. Maybe Gaga will adopt a persona for this album that’s inspired by Harley. Or maybe she'll simply tell us that the album’s darkness was inspired by that role, which led her into taking inspiration from Bowie again? Even if there’s nothing to this, I think it’s a very exciting thought on many fronts. I absolutely love the idea of Gaga producing music inspired by both Harley and Bowie. What do you think?

Not so much, but tbh I go through periods where I don’t listen much to any Gaga music. I either listen to Gaga or to other music basically. When she releases something new I always end up going back to her earlier stuff as well.

Her typical rollout is studio pics -> 6 months silence -> one snippet leak -> official clear announcement that LG7 is coming -> a ton of more leaks (photoshoots and snippets) -> covid AND THEN a year later the album leaks -> official release 2 weeks after.

brava, i think exactly this. I mean, this is her whole vibe it's not crystal meth high but the contrary, the sober Gaga that reflects on her life. And she is very stoic and has great sense of morals and ethics, which creates great conflicts in her mind. The things that troubles her seems to be the darkness. Which is kinda heavier and more dark in reality. Most of us want a more fun dark, she was able to do dark fun in replay and 911 and it was very appreciated in her last project. This is probably gonna be a bit of a folklore but without all that romanticism of Taylor swift, or even the Joanne feel.

So I posted about this in another thread yesterday, and with the recent uptick of news about LG7 I’ve worked out a bit of a theory/concept about what the prevalence of the black heart emojis in Gaga’s recent posts could be referencing towards for LG7. So we know Chromatica’s theme was all about Gaga’s mental health struggles, and ‘Chromatica’ itself was created as an internal universe along with imagery of the human brain indicating it’s a fantasy place used to cope with struggles surrounding mental health, trauma, mental illness and anti-psychotic medication, among other relative themes. This was mainly reflected in for example the album artwork, photoshoot and booklet and made up the general concept of the album. What if for LG7 since it follows up Chromatica, the dark hearts imagery is supposed to reflect that with this album the heart as opposed to the brain is going to be centrally themed, and the fact that the heart is black/dark/rotten is deliberately done to emphasize on the effect the mental state (brain) that was showcased and presented in Chromatica makes on the emotional state (the heart), and seeing as what’s discussed on Chromatica indicated the mental state was largely negative (as Gaga wrote in Chromatica about experiencing PTSD, anti-psychotics, despair in reaching out to others, chronic pain, identity, struggle with fame) it leaves the heart/emotional state in an even worse state, therefore the heart is black/dark and thus, rotten/abandoned/in a bad state and the concept of this album will be either similar to Chromatica in that Gaga will create another internal universe to symbolize that or will approach it in another way. Especially seeing as the brain and the heart are often compared to each other and are considered among the most vital organs of the body compared with the fact that Gaga has often used similar themes (such as the lyrics in Monster ‘He ate my heart and then he ate my brain’) in her music and visuals combined with the fact that it could be another yin/yang situation like The Fame vs The Fame Monster where it’ll be Chromatica vs LG7 (brain vs heart). 🖤
