I actually find it weird when anyone announces a social media break. I have friends who post long proclamations about needing to take a break for their mental health and “step back” and “take time for them” and even requesting that any IrL friends refrain from asking them about social media. And then like in a week (if that) they end up posting a “surprise I’m back!” Like just stop looking at it if you need a break. You don’t need to announce your (fake) exit.
