  5. Not GGD editing the title because ‘you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love’ has ‘fágs’ when you abbreviate it

  7. ARUTW is one of Gaga’s most loved songs by the GP. It’s been played at weddings, used for major life moments, and even by people grieving loved ones. It really became bigger than the fanbase. If she tapped into that audience again, I genuinely think she could have massive success. DWAS was proof of that too.

  8. I think what is dissapointing in this is how she has essentially made the Hot 100 meaningless. It used to be exciting to get a number one on this chart but it literally is actually irrelevant anymore because its just a chart to show who has the most money behind them. There is no organic music campaign for it anymore. It used to actually just be based on whether or not the public was digging a song for the song. It wasn't perfect but in 2010 it was an indicator that a song was definitely popular and well received. Now it isn't that. I actually wish there still was a chart that accurately depicted this. I think the closest might be the Global Spotify chart because it gets de-botted every week and kind of does show what trended that week. And in that case....Die With A Smile was #1, Abracadabra was a #2 hit, Disease was a #7 hit, and The Dead Dance was a #19 hit. Which feels weirdly more accurate to be honest. It also means Stupid Love was #1, Rain on Me was #1, Sour Candy was #3, and Alice was #8.

  12. Honestly the way they measure songs on the Hot 100 hasn’t made sense n a while. Those four songs are not “hits”. “Babylon” is not a bigger hit than “Abracadabra “.

  13. Charts are now irrelevant and “records” should stop being reported on since music is consumed in such silos. Cultural impact is rarely a thing anymore. A long running #1 used to mean a majority of the culture was at least somewhat familiar with the song. Not anymore.

  14. I’m convinced that all of human history is just 50% of the population trying to just get through life without getting killed by the dumber and crazier 50% of the population.

  16. I just take no joy in discussing charts anymore. It has sucked all life out of music. I’m just glad Miley made an album that she wanted to make and put it out into the world. I don’t care anymore if something is a mega smash. To me, getting art that you believe in out into the world is the success. Especially in an era where AI music is charting, numbers just don’t matter to me anymore. Artists making art with their own hands, hearts, and minds does. And I’m happy for Miley getting the art she made out into the world no matter what.

  19. I mean if people are still voting Netanyahu after all he made them go through for 3 years... These people are part of a cult, worshiping one man, despite him pissing on them every single time, they believe that god sent him to save the country, to bring salvation to humanity.. it's f-cked up, there's no sense with these people.. they don't see the country without Trump, they don't see themselves living 1 day without him.

  21. This 100%! It feels like even 2010s/early 2020s ''flop songs'' were more impactful and known compared to songs like Choosin' Texas. I still don't know how this song sounds like. Like even G.UY. had some airplay and articles written about its music video and somewhat of a mini-moment in pop culture.

  25. tbh I prefer this, than fans and artists obsessed with charts and going with all the strategies and the math to occupy the #1 spot for weeks.. Charts are irrelevant, variants are useless, and now the world has more plastic that no one knows wtf to do with it.. her variants will go to the clearance bin next week.

  29. There really needs to be a separate chart for non-singles. It shouldn't be the case that every time a major artist puts out a new album that the entire thing charts. The UK stopped that as soon as Ed Sheeran's entire Divide album charted plus older songs and it caused an uproar for what a farce it was and the US really should've followed suit. I think a separate chart would allow these songs to shine but the main chart should be for official singles. Yes, if a non-single catches on, it should be taken into account but it should never be held on the same level as singles. How many times has a non-single gone #1? So we shouldn't really treat them the same.

  30. I've done the same thing it's good for when you get to questions like "should this judge retain their seat", local down ballot races, or amendments with intentionally confusing wording. I've absolutely asked Gemini to tell me about candidates' and judges' records and policies and it summarizes everything while providing actual links to the sources so I can double check them myself and make sure it's not referencing some redditer's post or a tweet. It's not really any different than a google search imo and people who can't think critically about the responses they get from an AI are doomed to ignorance with or without that tool being available to them.
