It’s inspired by The Phantom of The Opera. The Lady in Red is directly inspired by the Phantom. Shallow’s boat performance is a direct recall to the Phantom taking Christine across the underground lake. And overall the show is about shame, obsession, identity and the duality of the performer and shadow self. Which is what the Phantom and The Lady in Red/Mayhem represents. There’s also inspirations from Lady MacBeth. And MASSIVE inspirations from Alexander McQueen shows and collections from his 98 Joan collection to his It’s Only a Game 05 show and Scanners from 03. The Paparazzi and Poker Face performances are direct McQueen references to It’s Only a Game (PF) and Scanners (P). The skeleton dance sequence from the original Coachella show is an almost direct Hamlet reference which was reworked to a more meta version.

Do you think the state should be given the power to kill people it decides should be killed? And if you agree with it - how do you prevent the state killing people you don't think deserve it? The government imprisoned 30,000 jewish men for it and then sent them to the camps because of that assasination. In the eyes of the law, they deserved the criminal punishment given out to them. Actually, executions are typically several times as expensive as life time incarceration. Keeping someone in prison for 50 years might cost $500,000 to $1 million while just the drugs alone that are used for lethal injection might be marked up to $1 million due to their scarcity. Not to mention the insanely high cost of keeping someone on death row, which is maximum security. It's cheaper to let them rot in prison The only reason I don't support it is 'cause it's the ultimate permanent punishment and people have been found innocent after being executed. You can't resurrected an innocent victim of wrongful execution. And you might say "well, make an exception for people like this one" but the penal system has a funny way of "just making an exception" into hurting a lot of people who don't deserve it. There's just no good justification for the death penalty and that's before you get to any moral or ethical arguments.
