What business is it of yours? She’s on a walk with her baby, she’s dressed comfy and in something that’s easy to wash when Rose inevitably pukes all over it at some point. Personally I think she looks pretty, but again, nobody else’s business how she chooses to dress in her own time.

The VMAs as an actual award itself are sort of whatever at this point but tonight was not special because of the trophies in her hands, but because it's so remarkable to see her having this renaissance that even I, someone who has been devoted to her my whole life, doubted she really had in her. It makes me genuinely emotional a bit to see that after so many years of getting dragged (sometimes fairly, oftentimes very unjustly) her getting her flowers again. And most importantly, her getting to be here to see it. So many legends only ever get properly celebrated and given credit for what they achieved when they're gone and no longer around to see it. But tonight, in a room full of artists who in many ways are walking down a path she paved, she was given those flowers. She was celebrated. Really, this whole year she has been. Confessions II instantly became one of the most acclaimed albums of her career. She was all over the press not being made fun of, but being praised for her work and having her music both old and new celebrated. She's had pop culture commentary around her that is full of love and admiration. A whole generation of younger artists are lining up to work with her and show their appreciation for her. She's winning awards and accolades at 68, 43 years into her career, over artists who're in the absolute prime of their career. After almost losing her in 2024, I'm just so, so happy that she's getting to actually experience this course change and that she's getting to see with her own eyes that her legacy still matters. That she's still that girl. That everything she did has stood the test of time and that even trough some real down periods the last decade, she's still ****ing Madonna and people still really, truly do love her. It's so special as a fan to get to watch.

At least something Gaga can't copy. Ugh, Madonna outsmarted her for once.

Can we actually start being honest about the fact nobody cares about music videos anymore because of the focus on streaming and short form content? Like even the Hot 100 doesn’t count YouTube views anymore, and videos don’t get half as many views as they used to. I think this award show is gonna get canned if not after this one then very soon. Spotify should start their own televised award show to replace this. Like the Streamys get more views than the VMAs which is RIDICULOUS.

Remember the 2010s VMAs with Gaga, Katy, Kesha, Rihanna, Cher, JB, Beyoncé, Eminem, Selena Gomez, Ms swift, Nicki Magaj. Like everyone was there. These days we get Katy, Taylor and Yonce one year, then Gaga, Ariana, the next one, but we never have a full combo in the same year anymore.
