I don’t think people realize how big of a deal this is. We have literal billionaires and owners of stadiums silencing artists because they don’t agree with their politics, which is going to set a very messy precedent going forward. I understand not having someone who advocates for hate but Macklemore’s speech was clearly not hostile to Jews, he made that very clear, and he was speaking up about a genocide. We aren't angry enough about how this incident is showing the rapid decline of free speech at the control of the rich.

There was never any question that she supports peace at the very least. It's very much like her to decide to platform a Palestinian artist rather than directly come out and say "I believe ___". I find it really interesting how Palestine has been reduced to nothing more than a token in stan wars. At the end of the day, the people who spend their time policing and demanding emojis, likes, and posts from artists (as if Instagram stories are going to solve geopolitics) don’t actually care about the refugees, the families torn apart, or the irreparable losses caused by war. They don’t genuinely care about the Palestinian people. It’s purely performative, a way to farm likes and views on X, a platform owned by Elon Musk, which makes the hypocrisy of it all even more glaring.

I’ve genuinely never understood the pro-Israel theory about Gaga. What, she did a concert there in 2014 and said it’s a lovely country in an interview with local media, how is that in any way supportive of Israel’s current politics? There’s a thriving gay community in Tel Aviv, it’s not exactly a big shock that she’d perform there. But change my mind.

She's said before that "if you really don't want to be seen, you won't be seen". She doesn't strike me as the type to make major announcements on personal things like this anymore, not since she announced her engagement. So letting the news leak in an impersonal way seems as appropriate as anything.

They should've thought about that before suing her that there was a chance they'd lose and may be hit with additional legal bills to repay her after this failed attempt at publicity. They thought they hit the jackpot. It ruined her logo usage for the tour and other promotional materials. Gaga most likely had to pay even MORE money for people and companies to redesign a lot of the materials that were probably already finalized and or in production. Its not just about "getting even"...there were unnecessary financial losses on her end.
