As of today’s Spotify update, and even a bit earlier than expected, Lady Gaga’s Bruno Mars assisted Die With A Smile surpassed Billie Eillish’s Birds of a Feather. DWAS: 3,967,217,178 (+1.8M/day) BOAF: 3,967,057,865 (1.2M/day) This means Gaga has the biggest streaming song with a woman on it of all time. Honestly a major accomplishment for an artist who, at the beginning of streaming, was often said to have a problem with crossing over into the streaming era. *This also means Gaga will be the first woman to surpass the 4B mark on a song in the coming weeks. Side note: *This song also pushed Mayhem up a bit. Without DWAS, Mayhem performed almost equally as Beyoncé’s Renaissance. With DWAS it pushes Mayhem into one of the most (and going upward) streamed albums of this decade already. A unique benchmark was set here too that often doesn’t get noted: This makes Lady Gaga the ONLY artist to have an album in 3 different decades in each decades Top 40 Most-Streamed Albums. The Fame Monster is the highest streamed album of the 2000s, period. A Star is Born soundtrack is #34 of the 2010s. And MAYHEM now sits at #40 of the 2020s. With current projections of growth, MAYHEM will probably rise to around #20-#25 by the end of 2027. Gaga has become comfortably one of the Top Ten Streaming Forces of the era. She also is relatively unique compared to her millennial contemporaries. Where Katy has most of her streaming numbers from earlier 10+ year old songs, Beyonce has most of her high streaming numbers from later songs and not very many billion-club songs, and Taylor has her highest numbers from 2015 and onward, Gaga’s numbers are more diverse and come from an array of different “re-peaks” in her career. She has multiple billion-status streamed songs from her original debut eras, then a jump again as she dipped into acting, and then another mid 2020s jump from her (satisfying) reheat of her nachos with Mayhem that struck a chord with both old fans and younger Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences. Perhaps this comes from Gaga stepping into (successfully) multiple arenas of entertainment that made her iconography more present even amongst younger people who didn’t know every single but appreciate her lore.23 points

The grainy polaroid pictures marked the first time Lady Gaga had been seen in four months. Before the uncaptioned film snaps landed on Instagram in late August, the 40-year-old megastar had all but disappeared from the public eye, having wrapped her blockbuster Mayhem Ball world tour in April. The Daily Mail has learned that the Bad Romance singer is laying low in Marin County, California, nesting in her new $10 million mansion with fiancé Michael Polansky. But so secretive has she been about her whereabouts that even her inner circle has been left in the dark, according to one source close to the singer who says friends have not heard from her in weeks. 'No one has seen her or heard from her in over a month,' the insider said. 'Everyone in her circle thinks she eloped with Michael and is on her honeymoon now, trying to make a baby.'11 points

I really don’t like this and I’m gonna keep my mouth shut other than saying… I don’t trust Michael. mark my words. Something is off here.11 points

I have never seen this discourse with blockbuster duet songs about who helped whom. The pathetic rats adopted stan twitter language and just say anything they want. I am so tired of Gaga being discredited in her own song.11 points

I hate when press or fans are talking about female artists intimacy and pregnancy stuff. They are not a womb standing on legs. Be serious I guess tabloids are pressed as **** she made them impossible to know a single thing about her wedding tho11 points

Daily Mail is a proper rag so who knows how much of this is true but if it is, I’m sure her family are aware as well as any good friends worth their salt. Anyone telling the daily mail about her personal life either isn’t a close friend or doesn’t deserve to be a close friend10 points

I think some of you on here are absolutely delusional to the point it goes beyond fan fiction. Like actual conspiracy theorists about a POP STAR is crazy. People using their own litmus tests for morality, like girl you can just not come the party ant all you’re gonna do is stand in the corner with your arms crossed. I also hate this narrative people seem to have of “old Gaga would never do that” like BITCH — she’s from a well off family and went to a private school, was going on tour with Kanye West, was the Creative Director of Polaroid for like a month, sold albums that had a lock of her wig in them for extortionate money, collaborated with Beyoncé just because they were both big, was the face of Mac Cosmetics, wore a dress made of meat and then ripped vegans who disliked it, added a rap feature to ARTPOP purely because it was trendy, originally wanted a music video full of violence and prostitution to be the lead single of ARTPOP, spent a year of her life high as f*ck arguing to no end with other celebrities most of which were not on her level and she had a life size doll made of herself as well as a sculpture for an album with a pedophile (whom at the time she specifically said she did not believe he was) on it and a book of photography from a rapist (Terry had allegations against him from YEARS before he worked with her) who followed her on tour for like 3 years SHE BEEN DONE BEEN MESSY AND COMPLICATED. Also do you know how many married celebrities work with their partners? Actors, producers, directors, musicians, songwriters — even Steve Irwin’s entire family worked with him in the pop culture sphere. I get some people on here are weirdly parasocial about who she is with or his morals but girl, we’re entering new levels of delusion every time there’s a thread. Like claiming their relationship is ARRANGED when he’s the first partner she’s openly spoke about with such a positive opinion of, we have video evidence of them practically attached to each others face on the New Years when they met (not to mention Cynthia introduced them), they live together and are engaged like… Maybe she’s just happy and a 40 year old woman? And she’s a millionaire so who cares, does she make good music and does she put in a good show? Yeah. Great. That’s all that’s expected of her. Y’all would go INSANE if she actually had an opinion —especially if it didn’t align with people’s personal morals.9 points

So I got back The Dead Dance this week for it's anniversary and I couldn't help but feel sad for the reception the fanbase gave to this AMAZING B.O.P. I think the song suffered from taking the single treatment from an OG Mayhem song. The video was also a let down. But the song itself?! GURL! The mysterious and dark beginning, the synths, the BASS, that pre-chorus, the funky chorus... The build up is insane. Literally one of the best pop songs of the last year. It's just, so much fun.8 points

It’s kinda sad that she was open enough to let us know that her next plans are marriage and kids - which is nice that she felt comfortable to do that - and since then there’s been so many invasive comments and speculations. Thankfully not so much on here, but twitter is rife with it. People need to leave her alone, she’ll update us on her personal life whenever she’s ready to.8 points

y'know... I'm okay with this. they really do have some incredible videos, and were a huuuuuge part of MTV back in the day. The recipients the last 15 years have been primarily pop, R&B, and hip-hop acts, so a rock group getting it is a nice change of pace. Also it's the VMAs so does any of this really matter in 20267 points

We’ve waited so long for this! Appreciate everyone who has kept us updated on the progress along the way. The achievement of the 1st female song to pass 4 billion Spotify streams is also the cherry on the cake.7 points

On September 9th 2016, Lady Gaga released Perfect Illusion as the lead single from her then upcoming album Joanne. The song was released on a Thursday, so it is almost exactly ten years to the day of the week! The song blended arena rock and 80s music stylings, which would later be noted as different from the other country-themed tracks on Joanne. Happy birthday Perfect Illusion! ---- The beginning of my first full era as a Little Monster. I remember how much I loved this song, and I still do! Contrary to what some say, I really think that choosing to release a song like this in the middle of the tropical pop era was actually a very experimental and high risk decision. I think the differences from the main album were to bridge the gap for fans who were expecting something like TFM and BTW (especially BTW) from the idea that she was originally working with RedOne on the album.6 points

I said it before and I'll say it again: bring back concert movies on DVD and Blu-Ray! Or release it on YouTube, like Dua did and make a physical live album. Concert movies in a cinema on a huge screen with hq sound systems are a great thought, but not everyone's tour is The Eras Tour. I think the Mayhem Ball tour in cinemas could work, but we'd all need to show up. But I'd happily pay for the ticket to experience the tour in Dolby Surround sound at my nearest cinema6 points

The first thing on screen being: "this movie is not optimized for IMAX" had me and my friends howling! So what did I paid the surcharge for?! (400+ available seats btw)6 points
