Fortunately, I’m old enough to know the difference between what’s authentic and what’s merely strategic marketing. There’s so much strategic marketing these days. She only says these things because they are socially desirable - to make herself appear more attractive and morally superior. Her words lack substance. In videos like "Hollywood," she glamorizes luxury, even walking out of a designer store with an XXL bag. She claims it’s satire, now also says she views luxury with skepticism. That’s all just cheap talk, because she has actively promoted the image of luxury as something to aspire to. Her videos garner millions of views, fueling and celebrating a consumerist lifestyle and she profits financially from it. She reminds me of those stars who say, "Oh, it's so terrible how high rents are and how hard it is for poor people to find an apartment," and then own three homes ranging from Hawaii to the East Coast. Then, she distances herself with a few words in an interview, words that carry nowhere near the weight of her actual actions. Her music is fantastic, but I won’t let myself be taken in by her.

Two Frankfurt Airport workers have died of malaria after a rare outbreak led to six employees contracting the serious infection spread by mosquitoes. It is believed the mosquitoes arrived at Germany's busiest airport on a plane, according to German public health officials, triggering an outbreak which was first detected in July. Traps have been installed at the airport and mosquitoes captured will be analysed in a laboratory to determine their species and origin. The outbreak is being investigated by the Frankfurt Public Health Department. Six male airport workers in different jobs and different areas of the airport were infected, and officials are analysing blood samples to determine if they were infected by one mosquito or six different mosquitoes.

My mind is playing all the tricks it can: maybe she’s unaware and simply focused on her art; maybe she’s deeply in love with Michael; maybe she’s taking dirty money and transforming it into beautiful art and philanthropy… But the reality is that her silence is suffocating part of the fanbase, because we love her and want her to thrive and have everything good in life.
