This will be the first season I watch since Apocalypse, which I watched only because they brought back old characters. Not sure how they'll manage to fit so many characters in one season but I'm impatient to see.

I finally gave in and ended my anti-Madonna phase. Confessions II is a nice album, like Chromatica; it's listenable, and time goes by very enjoyably. I think it shouldn't be called 'Confessions II'; 'Danceteria' or 'Love Sensation' would have been cool titles. But hey, she's the artist, and she's the boss. I don't think it will connect with me the way Confessions on a Dance Floor does. That album is just, um, perfection. Returning to her previous label proved successful; I'm glad she put her full effort into making this album enjoyable! I don't have any favorite tracks on the album, but I must say I like listening to "Bring Your Love" and "Danceteria" back-to-back! It reminds me of "Get Together" and "Sorry".

I feel like several of you are approaching this as “cohesive sound = concept album” when that is…not what a concept album is. A track list of songs that have a similar sonic identity is not a concept album. That’s just what an album is babes.

you know what, no, i'm not done bitching about this. it took me years to teach myself graphic design in photoshop and i just got good at it. but not even that's good enough anymore, because whatever i could make and get paid for, generative ai can make in two seconds. photoshop and illustrator didn't steal sh*t from the artist. it made the art easier.

Well she’s never made one. An album in which a handful tracks brush against a general, undetailed theme does not a concept album make. The Fame does not really deal with fame for the majority of it’s runtime and does not offer much actual commentary on the songs it does. ARTPOP isn’t really about any one thing. No artistic expression and the melding of art and pop (whatever she meant by that) is not a theme. Joanne isn’t about any one thing in particular either. Chromatica is very loosely about trauma and depression sometimes but is not a unified concept or theme in any way. MAYHEM has a theme but the theme is applied to the sound of the record, not what the songs themselves are actually about (the actual tracks are about a variety of disconnected topics). BTW is the closest she’s ever come to one but it also isn’t really one. A lot of the tracklist loosely revolves around the idea of freedom and expression but it’s never really tied together or presented as any sort of real throughline and several songs aren’t even within that theme at all.
