I was doing a CD package design for my portfolio and choose Chromatica as a digipack with an alternate cover and design, (the OG cover is impossible to replace with any photo of the shoot so I chose one that maybe could work as an alt cover) What do you guys think?

She's very clever and efficient. She can write amazing hooks and really smart wordplay. That said, I do think her storytelling in the past few years could use some love. Some of the concepts feel a bit surface-level, and I wish she'd push her ideas further. She's sometimes a little too efficient in her songwriting; for someone who used to be such a maximalist, she's so edited and curated now I've been missing her twisted sensibilities a bit. Songs like Hold my hand, Shape of a Woman, and even some songs on Mayhem are very straightforward, I miss the half psychotic sick hypnotic and the skeleton guns of it all you know?

Oh this casting eats and idk why I never thought of it before... Tbh, I want Gaga to avoid MCU/DCU roles like the plague. Get her to work with an auteur who knows how to properly write for and utilize her.

Til it Happens to You gives me the ick from a lyrical point of view honestly. Just the title alone is so incredibly ominous. It seems to be saying that in order to understand what a sexual assault victim is going through, you have to wait until it happens to you, hence the title, as if it's some required future occurence. A less ominous way of phrasing would be "unless it happens to you" but even that seems to be excluding of people who have suffered other forms of abuse and trauma who might be able to empathize with a rape survivior nonetheless I know fully that this is not what Gaga intended when she sang it, I just wish the song would have been entirely different. Diane Warren made a very peculiar choice

No artist only has amazing songs. She’s doing great. As someone said, her biggest strength is her melodies. She also creates amazing hooks and draws clear pictures. Look at Bad Romance. You can clearly tell the lyrics weren’t written by Shakespeare and yet, it’s still a fabulous song. It has its own world, its revolutionary hooks and super strong melody. I do feel that she neglects her lyrics or melodies every now and then, but it’s quite rare. Most of her songs are really solid. And after all, not everyone will enjoy the same songs. And at the end of the day, the best song of all time will be bad if the singer doesn’t use the right emotion. She writes songs for herself, you can’t fully dissociate her songwriting and vocal performance. Sometimes, the voice tells more than the lyrics.

I think she’s doing it on purpose who approved her to wear this? I think she wants people to notice it and talk about it. Seeing her like this is extremely concerning and I think it absolutely should be talked about and brought to everybody around her’s attention… why should we normalize it and just say “wow talking about it means you’re a bad person!!!”

She's great. Swifties who like to mock any other popstars songwritings don’t understand that songwritings just like litterature, can belong to various many genres. Make them read a play by Shakespeare, then a classical novel like Faust, then make them read a post-modern book by Duras... They couldn’t get it cause they parrots, they like Taylor's songwritings bc the critics told them so. Gaga's style is designed to create pulsative beats based on words and feelings. That’s what Dance music is meant to, and that’s what Madonna explains in Confession II. Gaga borrows many references too (there isn’t only TayTay who can do that loool). And sometimes she can speak about personal experiences too in a more sober way like on "You and I". It’s in The Fame that Gaga starts to use her fav thing in life onomatopeias and stuttering. It creates great melodies and memorable ones. TFM without "Rah-Rah" wouldn’t be the same. Chromatica's songwriting is great because it mimics the way ppl with ptsd can speak under stress. There are some phrases that are shorts, not fully articulated but honests... Her metaphors express euphemisms of very crude realities "keep my dolls inside the box" for litteral medications. ARTPOP is very post-modern with all it’s references and contain some damn poetic lines. It’s focused on love. It’s her best lyrics imo. The whole ARTPOP song is like a performance about how she takes her inspo. It’s theatrical and supported by a voice who can produce many performative effects : "Free my mind ARTPOP You make my heart stop" Even Aura sounds so cool because she mixes yet cosmical ideas and very incarnated themes. Again it’s performative, theatrical : "Do you wanna see me naked lover Do you want to peak underneath the bed cover Do you want to see the girl who lives behind the aura" "We're both convicted criminals of thoughts" on X Dreams was a ref to Orwell's universe in 1984. Mayhem might be her most cohesive one in term of lyrics. The themes are repeating itselves because the whole album is haunted. Some words are repeated often times like "Dry", "Kill/killah", "Dance", etc... It’s because there is a whole storyline here because of the fears she has. It’s really like in goth litterature. There is a double. This double appears on the album cover and they twist the knives : There is a knive. Don’t Call Tonight mentions it. Most of the time, she talks about her. This part of herself that is red (yeah the lady in Red) that ends up being fusionned to the lady in white to become black when the alchemical conflict is finished. It really follows how Gaga's identity became split at some point of her life and how it is cyclical (like she explained when she dropped Disease). You know why some Swifties do mock Gaga's songwriting ? Because it’s not prude. Because she uses crudes images or expressions. Sorry but if the artist must be prude, how can Gaga give birth to such an amazing monsters in her discography ?
