The way I have never heard a single song by any of these artists. Not Gracie Abrams, Ella Langley, Sombr and now this person. It really feels like the concept of a real popstar died in the 2000s and the whole “industry plant” narrative which wasn’t a real thing has actually become a real thing.13 points

We have got to stop acting like having a top 10 song on the USA Billboard is considered a hit, this chart has genuinely become so useless. The entire top 3 right now is genuinely just a bunch of whatever slop.12 points

So when are you supposed to have it? You can work 60+ hours a week as a teenager/20-something and all it'll get you is sore joints and missed experiences by the time you're in your 30s and still struggling exactly like you always were. Because that's how the system is. There is no work-life balance for anyone making less than six figures, which is 82% of American adults. And the only reason is 'cause our system has been held hostage by extremist career politicians who defer only to their donors and not their constituents. Nobody of celebrity billionaire status should be speaking on working class issues unless they're platforming working class people. Can't believe I ever liked this heifer tbh.8 points

I have very mixed feelings on Katy, some of which I know lots of other people share. She has some fantastic music, that much is undeniable. I'm even a Witness defender. I think what rubs people the wrong way is that whilst many of her peers have evolved, grown and changed, she has spent years and years trying the same shtick, seemingly baffled at why it stopped working and became more and more of a tone-deaf caricature of herself. 143 is almost an Onion-like mockery of what people think pop music is. People don't like that one of the big pop icons is now dancing with a talking poo and making music videos where she uses a urinal dressed as Wendy the Welder. Frankly, I think people just find her annoying. I, unlike many, don't think she is some kind of deeply morally suspect individual. But I do think she lacks self-awareness to an impressive degree, which often results in her doing questionable or poorly thought-out things.8 points

Madonna will stay the queen of the gays until her unfortunate death, she just did SO MUCH for our community at a time where it was career-suicide for most artists to be associated with our fággotry. Then Gaga will inherit the throne.7 points

-she worked with alleged abuser dr luke again after her friend kesha’s legal battle against him (Gaga was literally deposed in this case, yall don’t remember or..? how can you guys like that woman knowing the producer of 143 and his lawyer literally triggered Gaga in court? yikes) -she made tired desperately pandering music with zero taste -racist/micro-aggressions when describing a song of hers as “having a little bit of curry in it” -extremely out of touch with her place in pop culture -relies on nostalgia from her past success -shaded mariah carey for being a throwback just for her to become even more of a throwback than mariah -shaded britney spears’ mental health i can go on and on. needless to say i don’t see it for ole girl.7 points

I don’t understand why it’s so taboo to talk about religion if the attack was religiously motivated. Too many people turn a blind eye when it comes to Islam cause they don’t want to appear islamaphoic or racist. The reality is Islamic religious extremism is rising in Europe and it’s primarily through laxed immigration policies from the left that want to appear as saviours of the world. This is a problem and it shouldn’t be controversial to point that out.6 points

Personally I think she’s a phoney. Tried selling Christian music which failed then comes out with an album singing about kissing girls while also having a diss track saying her bf is gay but doesn’t like boys…. also a singer should be able to sing well 🤷🏻♂️6 points

Joy spread across Greece after Mount Olympus, the legendary home of the ancient Greek gods, was officially added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List following a 12-year wait. The decision was announced during a UNESCO committee meeting in Busan, South Korea, where dozens of nominations from around the world were reviewed. Mount Olympus was recognised as a mixed World Heritage Site for both its cultural importance and its outstanding natural beauty. Rising 2,918 metres above sea level, the mountain has long been linked to Greek mythology as the home of Zeus and the twelve Olympian gods. It had remained on UNESCO’s tentative list since 2014. The announcement was welcomed with excitement across Greece. Georgios Koumoutsakos, head of the country’s UNESCO delegation, described the decision as a major step towards protecting one of Greece’s most iconic landmarks for future generations. He said the recognition reaffirmed Greece’s commitment to preserving Mount Olympus, adding that, as Greek mythology reminds us, it is always wise to stay on good terms with the gods. The designation is expected to strengthen conservation efforts while increasing international awareness of the site. Local officials also celebrated the decision. Regional mayor Evangelos Geroliolios said the UNESCO listing would bring greater responsibility to protect the mountain’s unique environment, particularly its rich biodiversity and fragile ecosystems. The UNESCO committee, whose annual meeting continues until Wednesday, is expected to assess around 30 nominations this year. Successful sites join more than 1,200 locations across 170 countries recognised for their outstanding value to humanity. World Heritage status often provides important support for conservation through international cooperation, expert guidance and funding. Mount Olympus now joins famous landmarks such as the Acropolis in Athens, the Great Wall of China, the Pyramids of Giza and the Taj Mahal on UNESCO’s prestigious list. Europeans are doing absolutely fine balancing work and their free time. It's only North America where people are expected to do nothing but work 2 or 3 jobs and sacrifice their lives. It's easy to throw misogyny into this, but nah, Katy isn't the right example for it. Every single hate is warranted. In the past few years she had been showing how fake she is: - Had a large gay and minority fan base, yet had the nerve to tweet about forgiving your MAGA family members for the pain they have caused and telling them that they love them. - Frequently posted pro choice and progressive messages, yet supported Rick Caruso for his Los Angeles Mayoral run, who had past associations and donations tied to anti abortion figures and organizations. - Says she is supporting women, yet refuse to help Kesha during her court proceeding against Dr Puke. On top of that, she later work with Dr. Puke for Woman's World, her supposed girl power anthem, which felt a like a spit on the face really. On top of that, she is also very close to Amazon boss, Jeff Bezos. All these stuffs scream louder than her words or song lyrics, that she is just a privileged and wealthy white woman who don't give a shxt about you, and just gonna clout if that's helping her album sales.5 points

What I find really strange is that this song is about to be a solo top 3 hit, yet it does not even have 1 milllion views on youtube. The organic interest is really low. Clairo is to blame, she is the one who pioneered this form of creating a music career for the children of the rich. You pay money to streaming platforms to appear on a lot of playlists and thats it.4 points

At the end of the day I think one of the most traumatic things about being a minority is being scapegoated by society, having the finger pointed and your character attacked because of what someone else has done. So when stuff like this happens, involving another minority group, as an LGBTQ community it's our responsibility to make sure that scapegoating doesn't happen. As the culture shifts more and more right it's shocking how many people I see forgetting the importance of that. Protect the COALITION.4 points

Let me preface this by saying that the stan communities are often incredibly misogynistic in tearing down female artists for "flopping", dragging their worth as people based on bad music, etc. Katy experienced this during the Witness era in particular - she tried to evolve artistically, with mostly negative results, and was relentlessly mocked. That said, her decision to work with Dr. Luke again for the 143 era after all he's been accused of and claim that "my music was always controversial" as a defense was just plain gross. Crticism is 100% warranted, even if the misogyny isn't4 points
