Almost 2 years later, still a massive song. Congratulations to Mayhem’s #1 lead single that is the biggest song of the 2020s25 points

I mean, those song and album chart stats answer your question. The One That Got Away came out in 2012 Legendary Lovers came out in 2013 Harleys in Hawaii came out in 2019. The only songs of hers that pull good numbers are throwback hits. Her last new release to achieve a BB100 spot was Woman's World at #63 - 2 years ago. Her 3 out of 5 singles since then have only made it to Bubbling Under, 2 didn't even make that. She's not had a Top 10 hit since Chained to the Rhythm in 2017. Her last #1 was in 2013. By definition, she's a throwback/legacy act who's maintained success relies on historical releases.11 points

I guess I finally have a tean to root for.... The gag if Spain wins and Lady Gaga's Bad Romance (I Don't Wanna Be French) becomes the actual song of the 2026 World Cup.8 points

her music carries the sensation of being the only person in the world grappling with huge emotions, as life often feels in adolescence. For anyone older, her music can feel a little starter pack. This. Like that sums up so much of pop girl music atm.6 points

it's history through the myth, the Trojan War is the backdrop of the mythology. study archeology before u speak. Don't be "I watch 10 second reel and now I know everything" kind of American5 points

Ryan Murphy has totally diluted his reputation with so many mid shows and good shows that derailed well before they finished. It’s so hard to get excited by anything he does now because it’s always sleek set up, immediately disintegrating into disappointment. But if this is like Gossip Girl but Chuck Bass is actually openly a psychotic serial killer, I am sort of interested.5 points

There’s even an entire debate in art and history as to whether the writer was a real person same for the Illiad, because Historians have found there’s no evidence of “Homer” and there’s even debates about whether it was based on random made up sonnets during improvised concerts because there’s no evidence of it being a long form “story” as such. No written recordings of long form writing just pages of poetry and sonnets which were translated and compiled. Plus there’s the only evidence of The Trojan War in the Iliad and the Odyssey, it was likely not a real thing but based around a war in the Bronze Age.4 points

Seriously, thanks to CII, many young LM here discovered Madonna. My husband shared with me a reel he saw on about the Lovedrug - Danceteria - Into the Groove similarities from Paws Down social.. and that's it basically.. Look, there are hardcore fans that will always be bitter about Gaga, and will say "queen queen queen", they are irrelevant, most of Madonna fans are Lady Gaga fans and vice versa..4 points

Normally if they’re direct pulls from the software and are named after the track and labelled loops; it’s a progression they made and looped it. Usually if it’s a pre-existing loop they keep the pack or loop name like how the Judas ones have the name after the sample pack.4 points

Don’t presume that people aren’t aware. The Odyssey has no historical basis, it is pure fantasy. Also it’s so funny that you say it’s whitewashed given the whole Lupita controversy. Like, people wanna cancel things for no reason, it seems.3 points

It would be charting on the BBH100 if there wasn’t a rule of like X weeks of release + under #20, right? Not complaining, the rules are the rules, but I’m trying to visualize its current success3 points
