Queen of pop Carly Rae announced her new album out on sep. 18th and her new single On Wires is out this friday With 24 new tracks I wonder if this is the album and the side B at the same time

This masterpiece of a song sounds different on every listen. It’s unlike anything she’s done before and really showcases a deep understanding of sonic texture and arrangement. Only a true student and lover of music could have pulled it off. No other pop girl can even come close to this sound without their face melting. If she could just craft an album around it, she’d really become untouchable in the pop space like Madonna and ROL. Do it for the art, mother. Don’t be afraid of flopping because great art will live on even when you’re no longer here.

I love gossip and drama about dumb stuff, but every time people try and woke-ify it and talk about the social transgressions of a D list internet personality with the same tone as like, murder, I just feel like this:

She's very clearly unwell. I'm seeing a lot of people using the 'never talk about a woman's body' rhetoric but honestly I think in this context it's dangerous. It's never healthy when you can see someone's entire sternum, backbone, when their temples are hollowing out. She seems weak on this tour. Someone close to her needs to step up. But when people are in the throes of ED (if that's what it is) they often push away people who try to help them. We don't know what's going on with her. She could also be sick, but I know that she's seeing the comments, and I'm sure she would've addressed it by now if she were. Also a lot of the pics she's been uploading recently are body checks.. anyone familiar with ED knows this. It's sad to watch and god I hope she gets help and fast And also a sidenote, people are noticing that Cynthia seems to have recovered, refuses to talk about Wicked now, and they don't seem to be in contact anymore. This is also common for people with EDs to go through. They are in it together, but if one wants to recover they have to cut ties with the one who doesn't want to, otherwise they just trigger each other and recovery is impossible Lots of assumptions here, but it all tracks

I've got to say, though, having an ED is compatible and consistent with being "very energetic" and so on. I don't wanna go into details as I'd hate to sound insensitive, but these people know a lot of tricks in order to not seem weak for specific events and then stay exhausted in private after that. Not my personal opinion; I've studied it as a social worker

I get and agree with folks saying service workers should just get paid a living wage and tipping should be a gratuity, but refusing to tip because you disagree with the current tipping dynamic is just…kind of shitty lmao. That being said, I do agree that there’s far too much pressure being placed on the consumer to tip, which I think is unfair and doubly exploitative on behalf of the employers/business owners, so I get the frustration there.

I've been saying it since the Celebration tour. I think the new found love some of her tracks got (like Frozen & Hung Up), combined with how quickly the Celebration tour sold out (even with the added dates thrown on) and then the genuine outpouring of love she got after her coma totally reinvigorated her after a decade of being blatantly afraid of becoming yesterday's news. She has a hunger and confidence that's been missing since the divorce & Hard Candy era.

Tipping has become too ingrained in near every transaction within the US at this point. It’s more frustrating that now the expectation is to tip PRIOR to the service being completed, so as a customer it seems like you’re forced to tip to get any kind of service as opposed to tipping as a way to reward good service. If you own a business that is service oriented, just incorporate the cost of wages into your items/services.

In my country it's like a "gift" if the attention was good. If it was that case, I usually leave a 10-15%, and all the people I know leaves the same.

Yeah, that’s what strikes me the most about this convo. It’s not that it’s *wrong* to express concern, it’s the fact that people are not only speaking with so much certainty/authority about what she’s going through without really knowing and some going as far as to say it’s “disgusting” and that she’s setting a bad example. Like if you actually gave a **** about someone suffering from an eating disorder, you wouldn’t pile on and cast such harsh judgement. If she’s unwell, I hope she has people near her who can support her, but people def have to be more mindful about how they’re talking about her body.
