  2. Kylie Minogue has revealed that in early 2021 she was diagnosed with cancer for a second time, after diagnosis and successful treatment for breast cancer in 2005. She discussed the diagnosis in a new Netflix documentary entitled Kylie. “My second cancer diagnosis was in early 2021. I was able to keep that to myself … Not like the first time,” she said, referring to her highly publicised first treatment. “Thankfully, I got through it. Again. And all is well. Hey, who knows what’s around the corner, but pop music nurtures me … my passion for music is greater than ever.” Kylie said that after her treatment, she struggled “to find the right time” to announce it publicly. “I don’t feel obliged to tell the world, and actually I just couldn’t at the time because I was just a shell of a person,” she said. “I didn’t want to leave the house again at one point. Padam Padam opened so many doors for me but on the inside I knew that cancer wasn’t just a blip in my life. And I really just wanted to say what happened so I can let go of it. I’d sit through interviews and every opportunity I thought, ‘now’s the time’, but I kept it to myself.” She said her song Story, from her album Tension, refers to that period of her life, with lyrics such as “I had a secret that I kept to myself … Turn another page, baby take the stage.” Minogue said of Story: “I needed to have something that marked that time.” Minogue said it was “my choice to share” the information, and that she was diagnosed after a routine check up. “There will be someone out there who will benefit from a gentle reminder to do their check ups … Early detection was very helpful and I am so grateful to be able to say that I am well today.” x

  3. Gen Z really believes a few paragraphs is a “crash out” bc they suck at communicating and reading comprehension lmao

  4. Not a crash out at all. She’s simply responding to fans receptions to the music. She isn’t “convinced” it’s more in her favour after brat, she literally outrightly said she will NEVER be this successful again so she’s just going to keep making what she likes. Literally no ego. if she wanted to be a success she’d have continued making dance music. Also weird to think that her and the PC music gangs music started out as irony and is now appropriated into modern dance music entirely.

  5. Who’s this random snarky gay guy commenting? She didn’t base her career off Twitter vibes, she’s listening to culture (some of which is online). God bitter online gays are so irritating. on the actual point, she’s not defending herself as even people supporting her have called this an effort to shed brat fans. She’s just explaining intentions a bit more. By this read of her stuff, Gaga has been defensive for 20 years. Women can’t explain themselves or their art that people willfully misconstrued without people calling them defensive, lord. I’m not even an angel like that but rock music’s intention is insanely obvious.

  6. Y'all haven't experienced a real Charli crashout if you think this is anywhere near it . She's always maintained an open dialogue with fans when it comes to her work.

  7. Cher was born 80 years ago today on May 20th, 1946. She has had a career since the beginning of the 1960s that has spanned singing, acting, dancing, and more. Cher has won many prestigious awards like Oscars, Grammys, Emmys, and beyond. She is considered to be the goddess of pop by many for her role in influencing pop culture over multiple decades. She has also done activism for many communities, like the LGBTQ+ community. ---- It's incredible that we have this legend with us still. Praise be to Cher.

  11. The normalization of such blatant corruption while everyone I know struggles financially is so maddening. The level of cronyism within the United States really makes me question if any of the values that good, honest people were raised on, were ever worth it. Why do me and my loved ones try so hard to abide by the rules when crooks are literally stealing from my paycheck to bankroll criminals and insurrectionists. Purely rhetorical, but my God, Americans truly are living in a second Gilded Age. I'm so tired.

  13. The credits for both songs have been updated; DWAS now credits Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo (of Daft Punk) and Vincent Belorgy (Kavinsky) as songwriters. Killah now credits Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails) as a songwriter.

  17. 0% chance the Drake numbers are genuine. I've never been more convinced artists use bots than with him...if it were 2016 then, sure. But in 2026? No way. When Apple Music claimed he was the most streamed artist of 2025 on their platform I thought it was fishy enough, but seeing all of the Iceman & other 2 albums tracks flooding the charts this week...not to mention the fact we know he pays influencers to talk about his music...yeah, bots confirmed.

  20. I have so many memories her taking her skirt off after Applause and looking down straight into my soul below her, her ass splatting into the Perspex stage and being able to see it below, her stage diving into the fans. I also remember being so drunk I stepped on a little girls toes and didn’t realise so I just stood with my full weight on her as she cried then when her dad picked her up to ask what was wrong I slowly side stepped away like nothing happened

  24. Damn….kinda crazy that this is how people are reading into this “I make art for art for art’s sake as a place of solace and creativity” being translated as “omg she’s bitter!!!”

  25. By the time she started the tour, she was already in the “Mayhem” headspace, writing and producing the album, hence the darker brutalist aesthetics. The fun pink cyberpunk world was just something her team (I assume Nicola) put together when she was really depressed and couldn’t even bother to promote the album. It was beautiful but she had already moved on when she started making Mayhem. It wasn’t completely abandoned though. The pink and purple colors were still there, the bug headpiece, the Chromatica sine symbol, the whole Replay outfit and some of the interludes had elements of the original aesthetic.

  29. There isn’t a Daft Punk sample. Guy is the producer of the song Nightcall by Kavinsky. People, including members here on GGD who went to the original Requiem show claimed DWAS sampled Nightcall. It does not actually sample it, but the optics are that it was sampled; and you know what they say perception is reality. They credited them to avoid further drama.

  33. Y’all personalise and project far too much on this website. Just because you didn’t like the music or the fact it was everywhere doesn’t mean it wasn’t. You’re factually incorrect bc Brat Summer was literally everywhere. Fashion brands were referencing it, clubs were playing the album and celebrities were talking about it. Even her Kamala Is Brat tweet went viral during the last election. And like I said she had a term added to the Webster dictionary. Your reply is closer to a crash out than what she did btw which is ironic

  40. This. I think the VMAs is probably the best iteration of the Chromatica aesthetic (the acceptance speech looks are some of the best of the era), but seeing the new aesthetic for the tour is actually what inspired me to buy a ticket because, no shade, but I was afraid the tour was going to be Enigma 2.0 based on a lot of what we had already seen until that point
