Coming out of GagaDaily retirement for this one. Having someone essentially take what you made and use it without your permission or credit for an album that is available to stream by millions of people is kinda lame, no two ways about it. It's not pitchfork worthy, she isn't a terrible person for not giving credit where credit is due. Her legal team has no excuse though, they had four months to reach out to either Trent or Kavinsky + Guy-Manuel and at least put a proper credit for what they used. "Well he should've reached out in private", well her team should've reached out in the first place. "Well, he's getting his bills paid", no nerdbob, there isn't a credit so he gets zilch. Ohhhh that one message "you're lucky she's giving you a bit of exposure you ungrateful old" is soooo **** because it can't count as exposure if there isn't a credit of any of the production crew for Nightcall in earshot listed in Apple Music metadata. And Gaga stans getting bold saying oh well he's smaller and a who so who cares, shame on you. Just because someone isn't a megastar doesn't mean their contributions to music aren't equally valid and appreciated, you can put bias aside and say Gaga made a single mistake, simple as that. Even if it wasn't intentionally an interpolation, the Closer line of "I wanna **** you like an animal" is, she didn't write that or come up with the idea of that lyric and it isn't even listed in the Apple Music lyrics. But even with all of that, it's not an entirely big deal. No one is gonna sue or make a problem of it other than the fact Kavinsky just expressed disappointment in having no contact about this whatsoever.

I saw a comment on IG that said “This era will go on for me until the first single for LG8 drops” I resonate. Mayhem has blown me away and I’ve been a LM since The Fame. Im genuinely sad today and it’s nice to see I’m not alone. What a ride it’s been. ❤️

I just wanted to say - having aside what I already said multiple times about the music itself - MAYHEM holds a very special place in my heart; number 1 spot out of all of her albums. The overall concept of "embracing what you are - even the darkest sides - instead of trying to fix you" really made it through me like an instant light. Everything just made sense. Which is also ironic in a way, because way before (probably months) the album was released, this whole idea was really helping me go through life. She simply came to confirm what I already thought and worked in therapy. There's too much power in that. Forever grateful for her at being so thoughtful and reflective. God, I got emotional. I love her

This was such a monumental era as a fan. She seems to have perfected everything. The fashion is impeccable, the music has been the best it has ever been in over a decade, her creativity is clear. But most importantly, she's been happy and healthy this era. Truly an era made in peace. Can't wait for LG8, because for the first time ever, I can't predict where she's going.

Verses are a hot mess lyrically and melodically, chorus is fine (albeit repetitive), production is kinda flat compared to her more recent funk/disco output. LD and HBDUWM both clear it with ease, imo, in part because they’re rich with details and specificity that I think are missing on SOAW (rich explicit and implied harmonies and vocal layers, carefully crafted instrumentals, hooks on hooks etc.)
