  2. It's so interesting. When Gaga tries to be sincere and deep, the fans often push it aside unless it's dumbed down for them (like Chromatica). And when she's just having a little fun (like Runway) suddenly they bust out the monocles and thesauruses to explain all the ways the song just isn't serious enough. So much of gay culture is the whimsy of it all, that lighthearted creativity in the face of oppression, and a cute bop like Runway lends itself to that world just fine imo. It's a caricature in a world where caricatures are the highest form of compliment. Naggy f-words and b-words annoy me when they expect her to reinvent the wheel when the prompt was "make a fun song with another queer artist for Devil Wears Prada 2". Get over yourself, lady. Gaga really catches criticism when she least deserves it.

  3. I don't like this gay pandering discourse about a song written and performed by 2 LGBTQ+ identifying artists. Especially at a time when the community is under attack. Its not pandering for queers to make queer music

  4. Now I was never sure from the leaks and thought I couldn’t get on that train, but now after the full thing and a few repeat listens…it’s actually a vibe..…I see the violet in her eyes 🕺🏻💃!!!! Anyone else? Bowie-esque verses, growls, vocal serve throughout, belting chorus, toe tapping, summery vibes, pool/beach feel, layered background vocals…. A bit 80s….. Some throwback to Fashion!, free woman, Enigma, LoveDrug, maybe a splash to RuPaul and Miley 🤭 but overall really FUN!!! Should be pushed with remixes etc. and TikTok, to see if a cute sleeper summer hit could emerge. so to those that are too cool for these yummy cheesy revamped nachos that our Stef has put on our menu for us for now .. I say…

  13. Hello lovelies Because we live in this information rich era sometimes I just gotta look up the answer to a question that's bugging me and today's hot topic was "do Muslim men have modesty standards?" Yes, random, but, educational! So the song is called Aura right? And those of us that have been around know that it was originally Burqa etc. etc. Well, I stumbled across this from Wikipedia: The intimate parts (Arabic: عورة 'awrah, ستر, satr) of the human body must, according to Islam, be covered by clothing. … In Arabic, the term 'awrah or 'awrat (عورة), with the root ‘-w-r, means "defectiveness", "imperfection", "blemish," or "weakness". The most common English translation of awrah is "nakedness".[1] In Arabic, the word 'awrah is used in reference to both men and women. And in case you're wondering: yes, it is pronounced very, very similarly to AURA. So... there you go.

  16. I think the problem with RUNWAY is that it feels a bit like it's trying to pander to the gays a little too heavily.... I know the line between camp and pandering is getting blurrier these days, as gay culture is becoming more and more mainstream, but the line is still there. Gaga's music has always leaned into a certain degree of camp, and she's been embraced by the gays because of it. Born This Way rode that line well - I know when it was released, some older queens called it out for being the first gay anthem written specifically TO BE a gay anthem and disliked it because of that, but I'd argue BTW isn't pandering. There's a clearly sincere message at its heart, something that Gaga had been building towards through her activism before the song's release. I'd also say songs like Donatella or Government Hooker are pure camp, and the gays rightfully turn up for those too. But RUNWAY starts to edge towards pandering territory - the lyric about 'tea', the use of 'biiiiiiiitch', the allusions to ballroom culture etc. etc. Gays can sniff out something that feels a bit forced so I can see why some aren't vibing with it for that reason... the constant comments about it sounding like a Drag Race song are kind of shady... to use some gay lingo hehe. Sorry for my lengthy post, but you really got me thinking!

  18. I actually agree with her. She makes a good point. The song is FINE as is, B U T with Gaga AND Doechi (and clearly a big budget given the video), the material should have been more than random gay buzz words strung together with repetitive nonsense that instantly makes you envision Drag Race.

  22. The pop star was spotted Thursday being chauffeured around Westlake Village and Calabasas the day after finishing her rehab stint. We're told Britney is doing well after spending 3 weeks in rehab ... and she's happy, healthy, centered and, perhaps most importantly, clean and sober. source: TMZ https://x.com/tmz/status/2049968314886078556?s=46

  24. Because they are the typical gay men, who when presented something they communicated they want then don't want it anymore because unavailability is the only thing that turns them on Like we saw it with Babylon lol she gave ya'll the version she teased and ya'll tore it apart. Probably also why she doesn't wanna do Act II because most would be crying how outdated 14+ year old songs sound.. Just be grateful for once and stop being cvnty, it's not cute. Cause I'm pretty sure we're having another drought soon and we'll reminiscence the times we kept getting fed

  27. I think those songs are really good for a SOUNDTRACK. I wasn’t expecting anything else from them. Especially for fashion related iconic movie. They fit perfectly. I understand that this is not everybody’s cup of tea but some of you have to stop expecting everything that Gaga does to be this groundbreaking out of mind experience. Some things are just meant to be fun, not challenging, side things, that you can also easily move from.

  29. also the way she pronounce "the hood" is similar to how you pronounce the name David in Arabic (Dawood/Daud), and the "knife under the hood" is a reference to the story of David and Joanthan, when Johnny gave David his knife and his armor, and they were the first documented gays.

All y'all hating meanwhile I've added the 3 songs on my total mayhem playlist Idk if my siblings (@Ladle Ghoulash @bxr @Ophelia @****oDanceFight @Bronco @elegidadedios @The Breast @DESTROY UR DISEASE) see the vision as clearly as I do but doesn't this make at least a little sense? Taking the pre-mayhem tracks as act I, then original standard mayhem + GL, and last act with the bonus tracks.

  41. Joanne accomplished exactly what it was meant to. It was an album for her and about her. There's valid criticism to be had a decade later but as a project of its time, it was "fine" at worst, namely due to her choice of aesthetic (the cowgirl thing from the woman that grew up in Manhattan was unnecessary, even though I personally liked it). If anything, the fact that fans still misrepresent what that album actually was ("omg she put a song about flicking the bean on the dead aunt album") shows why she made certain choices with the following album. Chromatica was easily Gaga dumbing down what she really wanted to say, getting pressured by certain people in her circle, and slapping it over trendy house beats 'cause the fans showed they weren't here for authenticity unless the feelings were spelled out clearly and they could sniff poppers and get bent over in the club while it was blasting on the speakers. I'm full of beans this morning so I'm being more aggressive than necessary but I stand by the opinion
