It’s quite amazing to watch him destroy all the good will and intellectual image he crafted in his early days in just one or two promo cycles. Now he’s just like any other self important douchey actor.24 points

Lady Gaga's seventh studio album, MAYHEM, was released TODAY! MAYHEM is a 14-track exploration of fame, identity, and "controlled chaos," characterized as a "maximalist pop" odyssey. The album features a genre-blurring mix of synth-pop, industrial dance, and electro-grunge, and it is executive-produced by Lady Gaga, Andrew Watt, and her fiancé, Michael Polansky. The record presents a dark, gothic-cyberpunk aesthetic. The tracklist includes the lead single "Disease," which is inspired by Nine Inch Nails, as well as the Siouxsie and the Banshees-sampling song "Abracadabra." Other standout tracks include the duet "Die with a Smile" featuring Bruno Mars, the industrial electro-funk piece "Killah" featuring Gesaffelstein, the glam-rock track "Vanish into You," and the minimalist ballad "Blade of Grass." MAYHEM debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and won a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album. The success of this era is further solidified by The Mayhem Ball World Tour and much more! Let's celebrate!20 points

Yeah, pretty tone deaf to wish for the death of entire artistic mediums because they’ve been co-opted by rich people lmao. Barring the historical inaccuracy of your comment (given that both ballet and opera were fairly widely accessible and popular forms of entertainment from the 18th-20th century), why not just make them more accessible instead of erasing them?19 points

**** you. This generalization Is absurd. Theres an elite that sustains us and thank God. And not every cultural centre Is new York. Some of these benefactors are really devoted to the cause of sustainning the academies and theatres as well as helping young talented artists. These shows, even more opera, require an absurd amount of people Behind the stage and on. Its a profession done purely for love of an old art form that somehow surprises you how It can still make so much sense. When we do the dress rehearsal, usually theres schools invited to see and everytime its a Joy tò see their reaction, how much they enjoy this artform. It Is not for Rich people. In Venice in the 1600s, It was a public eventi and you could buy a ticket. Ofc thats already a niche elite outside nobility. Its a democratic show since, almost the beggining. A freaking taylor Swift or any of these pop stars shows costs way more on average than a ticket tò most ballet or opera, Symphony etc performances. So wheres the real elite?11 points

So true. Nobody cared about ballet until Addison Rae did a photoshoot as a ballerina in 2023 and now suddenly everyone wants to care about this ‘precious’ artform.8 points

Another tone deaf reply from the Miz Philistine. A world without classical training is how you get a world with no Lady Gagas (read: technically virtuosic, classically trained polymaths) and all Addison Raes (read: largely untalented, clout chasing glorified influencers). Wolf in sheep’s clothing type behavior to wish for the death of art, but can’t say I expected different from someone who stans an artist as mediocre as Miz Rae lol.8 points

Him and his weird, pinched face. The ego, the audacity to believe he is bigger than either art form and he could be tasked with "keeping it alive"8 points

This is like Sophie’s choice. Bad Romance is the blueprint but there’s something addictive about Disease that makes me want to listen to it a lot. It’s also fresh, so well produced, so many incredible layers and just hits so hard when listening to it full volume.5 points

I really can't believe that some fans will see all these highlights and think that she still "gave up" halfway through the era or that she "doesn't care" about her music career any more4 points
