Whats the solution here? Racism is absolutely repugnant and people shouldn't have to experience it. But there's literally no way to prevent someone's tourette's tics. Tourettes isn't a controllable condition, attempting to surpress tics can be physically painful to people with tourettes. This isn't John Wayne trying to attack a native actress on stage. This is a man with tourettes experiencing a tic.

The CBT took an abnormally long amount of time and I think Gaga honestly dragged her feet on it because she’s a perfectionist and wasn’t happy with what they got for footage/takes, which is why she pulled out all the stops to film multiple dates of the MAYHEM Ball with as many angles as possible so the turnaround would be much quicker. Also, iirc, TMB film only took like…3-4 months to edit?

I’m sorry, but what?? The *least* the BBC could’ve done was edit out his shouting. They edited out a “Free Palestine” shout out, but they couldn’t edit out someone yelling the N-word? He was still at the ceremony and he was still being honored. Editing out his outbursts wouldn’t have been “removing his existence.” I think the notion that editing out obscenities from the show is somehow equivalent to dehumanizing and devaluing him as a person is extreme. It would’ve been an accommodation. Considering the fact that he left the show after this incident, it’s clear he was embarrassed by it. If anything, I’m sure he would’ve liked it if the BBC edited it out because then he wouldn’t have to deal with everyone online talking about it.

While I can't fully comprehend it myself, it's called coprolalia which is a form of tourettes. It's uncontrollable, some think it's because a part of the brain is trying to find the most vulgar tic, (my wording might be wrong here).
