I love how you missed out the part where she said "I think what's happening in this country is incredibly heartbreaking" give the woman a break.45 points

This was yet another example of monsters being hypocritical Can't say I'm surprised, but it's getting rather annoying atp Y'all say you want "experimental", weird, avant-garde stuff. Well, this is it! When you say you want her to experiment more, this is the result of that! Not every performance will be fully choreographed with 15 backup dancers. This is like when people freaked out about the Disease video because it wasn't Gaga looking like every other blonde pop star doing a full-on routine. Some of y'all will never accept—much less enjoy—the experimental/weird Gaga that you want her to be. The arrangement was great (I need this version of Abra on streaming asap!), the camera movements and her poses were immaculate, and she looked f*cking incredible. A great performance and a great way to reimagine Abra.34 points

She wins AOTY, gets on stage, "I'd like to thank myself, I made this alone", walks off stage30 points

Lady Gaga is the first artist to have ever won all five of the pop categories. This was 14 years in the making starting in 2011, and going until now with the recent addition of the new Pop Dance category. I know some people here are sad about the lack of main category wins, but this definitely cheered me up because this is a big achievement! Her stats are in the post, but to reiterate them here (with them specified): Best Pop Vocal Album (The Fame Monster and MAYHEM) Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album (2x) (Cheek to Cheek and Love for Sale) Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (3x) (Shallow, Rain On Me, and Die With A Smile) Best Pop Solo Performance (Bad Romance and Joanne (Where Do You Think You're Goin'?)) Best Dance Pop Recording (Abracadabra)30 points

She's saying he's relevant for so many people who need that hope and figurehead/leader, quite obviously given the impact of ICE on POC/Latino communities. It's not that deep. She doesn't need to be head spokesperson for every time. In fact it's more respectful on her end to recognise when others do this and support them. She has done a lot over the years, she is not a politician, we know where she stands. Can we cool it...27 points

Can we talk about the fact that this lady just got back from Japan 2-3 days ago? Some of y'all forget to buy butter and are then too lazy to go back to the grocery store - adjust your expectations and be grateful.24 points

The way I look at is this - Cher, one of the biggest pop stars and music legends has literally one Grammy (2 if you count last night's lifetime achievement award). Awards do not make someone a "better" or "more accaimed" singer. While, yes, we can definitely mourn missed accolades, Gaga is incredibly successful and has received many, many flowers. And I will continue to celebrate that.19 points

I understand fans complaints on her not being as outspoken on the issues as she was in the past, but did we really come to the point where we put her every sentence under a microscope just to find something to bitch about?17 points

Please no racist BS. But definitely grieving her AOTY loss as it features some of the best pop songs of the decade. Any artist would kill to have one track from Mayhem on their album... No ROTY, SOTY, AOTY win despite having some of the biggest songs and albums of the past 15 years. When will she get her flowers?14 points

I'm sorry mate but you are beyond clueless. I am so done with some of you on here who are literally incapable of recognising artistic brilliance when it’s staring you straight in the face. Seriously go off on a f*cking gap year, educate yourself and LEARN-SOME-TASTE. This has gotta be one of the coolest performances Gaga has done in years! High fashion, dark chaotic Mayhem energy on a minimal set. Full emphasis on the music. This is quintessential artistic Lady Gaga! Serving 80’s New Wave performances like the Eurythmics and Gary Newman, classic Glam Rock like David Bowie, visceral dark 90’s Metal and Industrial Rock like Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, and even more alternative bands like Tool. All of which don’t need choreography and backing dancers, but just stand and perform as actual music artists. To have her, front and centre on the deck and keyboard, leading the construction of the song as an actual musician is essential to the message she was conveying that night - to celebrate the female producer. And between two music legends, Ilan Rubin (from Nine Inch Nails) and Andrew Watt,...amazing. They became a real band for that performance. Oh and that “Ikea lamp shade”... original 2009 Alexander McQueen mate. Straight from 'The Horn of Plenty' collection. The level of art and fashion culture encapsulated in that look alone is mammoth. Abracadabra may not be an Avant Garde song, but she transformed it into one with this performance. Emphasis of high fashion, alt music genres, the chaotic darkness of Industrial Rock and trippy 80's New Wave, visceral abstract performance art, the camera exploring angles of her body like a fashion photographer. Genius. I truly hope she does more stuff like this!13 points

The Lady Mayhem’s all-seeing red eye has been following her since the Disease video. The last hurrah for this musical avatar while we wait for her ego disintegration (or final integration) at Requiem. This whole era has been a fully conceptual journey, from the singles, to the tour, to the performances. And honey, she won’t dance in a delicate archival McQueen museum piece. Let the camera do the dead dance. She’s a multi-award-winning diva making a stop between tour dates to please humans. She delivered vocals, as singers should, and visually, this performance is top-notch without a single firework cracked. The category is: Praise the Lady in Red Grammy Performance or die 🖤❤️13 points

love bad bunny and don’t disagree with the AOTY win, but I can’t believe they continue to play in her face like this…13 points

I really enjoyed the cinematography of this performance. The off center angles were really interesting and sort of invoked a feeling of chaos (or mayhem ) and uneasiness, sort of like an art house horror vibe, which I think paired well with the gothic lamp shade/eye/venus flytrap onion bulb headpiece ensemble. Now release a studio version of this rendition à la Disease acoustic please13 points
