  12. This is a headline today on the radio and in newspapers in Belgium : MINISTER REBUKES INFRABEL OVER EXCLUSIVE LADY GAGA CONCERT TICKETS: “SERIOUS DOUBTS ABOUT ITS RELEVANCE” Belgian rail infrastructure company Infrabel should keep its corporate events far more modest, an irritated Mobility Minister Jean-Luc Crucke says. The state-owned company recently took 200 managers to a Lady Gaga concert, allegedly with “expensive VIP tickets for everyone,” according to the left-wing PTB/PVDA party. [...] Infrabel’s top management invited 200 managers to Lady Gaga’s concert [...] . It was a unique outing: the American pop star — known for hits such as Poker Face and Abracadabra — caused a massive rush for tickets, which sold out within hours. Standard tickets ranged from €70 to €200, but in this case VIP tickets were involved, said PTB MP Farah Jacquet. Including parking and catering, those tickets reportedly cost between €300 and €600 each. [...] The unusual “teambuilding activity” [...] rubbed Mobility Minister Jean-Luc Crucke [...] the wrong way. The minister plans to send a letter to Infrabel stressing that such events should be much more restrained. “I have serious doubts about the relevance of this choice,” Crucke said in Parliament. “Such an event does not seem to me the most appropriate way to achieve internal cohesion objectives — certainly not in a context where exemplary public spending is essential.” “ESSENTIAL VALUES” Infrabel itself downplayed the controversy surrounding the Lady Gaga tickets. According to the company, the initiative did not cost more than previous teambuilding events, such as attending the Memorial Van Damme athletics meeting or a Cirque du Soleil performance. [...] The company added that the choice of a Lady Gaga concert was deliberate. “The artist is known for her commitment to inclusivity, respect for diversity, innovation, and openness — values that Infrabel also upholds. These values are essential to ensuring a work environment in which everyone feels respected and encouraged to give their best.” https://www.nieuwsblad.be/binnenland/minister-tikt-infrabel-op-de-vingers-voor-exclusief-lady-gaga-concert-ernstige-twijfels-over-de-relevantie/122044841.html

I even found stuff I never knew existed specifically in the adlibs. If you wanna download feel free to; https://voca.ro/1jfGBGwbg8mu

  24. The album cover is one of her weakest and looks low key cheap… especially compared to other photos she released towards the end of last year. Also Disease is the best song on Mayhem, way better than Abracadabra. Disease is more complex, dynamic and layered than anything else on the album. It’s the kind of song that elevates your discography and makes you grow as an artist which is obviously a good thing.

  25. Vanish Into You is one of the worst songs on the album. It starts off loud and abrasive and stays completely one-note until the end when she finally stops screeching throughout the chorus.

  26. I remember when Disease came out how many users I'd seen on here asking for exactly that song complaining about the song. Then you see the KfL vs CSTH debate. The boring hate for Killah. And while people do like Perfect Celebrity its still beaten out by poppier songs when people talk about their faves. Plus the hate for the disease video because it wasn't cunty choreography from some corners of the fan base as well. TDD is an odd one out of the era because its hated on by everyone. The ones who wanted a heavier track and got netflix pop and the pop lovers who think its too cheesy and gothy lol. I There's definitely fans of the dark/rock ga and people do love what we got this era. You can just really see a decent chunk of the Dark/RockGa talk was just people not really understanding what that would look like as well. Lol okay Born This Way has at best the same balance between dark and lighter songs as Mayhem. I'd say there are far fewer dark tracks. And none of the dark tracks are rock tracks either. Born This Way isn't a bold album sonically. Lyrically it is on some tracks. But the vast majority of Born This Way is just 80s nostalgia and evergreen european dance music. I understand to some nationalities that's not a common sound, but to me it wasn't a new or bold sound. It was what me, my friends & my family all listened to.

  28. Abracadabra should be the first track on the tracklist and include "The category is: dance or die" at the beginning of the record. LoveDrug has some of the strongest lyrics, vocals, and production on the record. The Beast is one of the best songs on the record. Killah is one of her best songs period. Pure Gaga-distillation. The album doesn't need another video considering how lush its production, lyrics, and themes are.

  30. Had to make a thread for the lovelies here that love MJ I'll share a few but the channel "MJ RU" runs a telegram where you can find pretty much everything that leaked. We finally got "Neverland Landing" and it's as light-hearted, wistful, and Disney as I dreamed Some cool instrumental demos done during the Dangerous and HIStory sessions. Would have loved to see these refined into proper tracks. You can hear Brad reaching into his Sonic bag for "Garbage" apparently that one inspired "Can't Let Her Get Away" which is my favorite groove on Dangerous. Second to last, one of the most anticipated tracks among the MJ fanbase. "Innocent Man". Written the same year he was accused of something heinous. He wrote lyrics for the entire song but unfortunately only the chorus was recorded. Still, a gem Lastly, my favorite of the bunch. "Remember What I Told You". A song he was working on in 2009. More of an idea of a song but beautiful nonetheless. Rumor has it that he had a temporary studio set up at the Staples Center while rehearsing for This Is It and this recording is from June 19th, just 6 days before he died. "Remember what I told you for the rest of your life. Please let me go." Been a fan for as long as I can remember and the man, nearly 17 years after his death, still gets me right in my soul

  38. -Abracadabra is incredibly overrated and is just a cheap attempt at another Bad Romance with weaker lyrics. -It is not nearly as good as TFM and BTW and people just say that because of its black and white cover. -Lovedrug is underrated. -Garden of eden deserved a video and Disease deserved a better video with a bigger budget. -Some of the lyrics are quite generic and do not show off her best caliber as a songwriter. -Die With A Smile should have never been added to the album and it was an obvious attempt to make the album more successful. -The Dead Dance also should have not been added to the album and it is one of her worst songs she's ever done. -Disease is the best song on the album. -Shadow Of A Man's first 10 seconds are the best part of the song and it should have been more trance/pop than funk.

  39. This is one reason why she's one of my favorite musicians tbh. Her lyrics are often pretty "meh" but most of her work tells the story through sound rather than words. One of my favorite examples of this is actually in DWUW. There's this tiny sound in the chorus that you can only really hear by dissecting the stems. It sounds so fragile and vulnerable despite it playing at the same time as her declaration of strength and identity. It's such a cool contrast and it's that contrast that tells the real story. She's strong but not invincible. The way LoveDrug just plugs along with that guitar and drum rhythm, a consistent and heavy heartbeat like an organic steam engine The vocoder effects too, like an artificial observer to the cycle of love and pain, some digital phantom belying the real desperation of her pleas And it's got the a mixture of Electric Chapel's drive and Perfect Illusion's grit Truly a song that makes you FEEL the weight of exhaustion, heartache, emotional strain, and hope in spite of it all Sometimes the best stories aren't in the words, they're in the worlds And LoveDrug paints this picture of a lonely, rainy night in some alternate dimension cyberpunk city block after a life changing event where the listener decides they've lost everything but f*ck it, we ball And you get all that without reading a single lyric

  40. Killah DOES sound like a Gesaffelstein song, so I never got that critique. I love The Dead Dance music video. Could it have been bigger and brighter? Yes, but something about the dancing dolls and the overall darkness makes me want to watch the video again and again.

    3 points
  47. I don't see how that would change anything tbh. She's already extremely wealthy. If you support her now, supporting her if/when she becomes a billionaire shouldn't make a difference. I guess the argument is that "there are no ethical billionaires," but like...do y'all think getting to be as wealthy as she is right now is ethical either??
