  2. I wish she would go back cosplaying a hot 20 years old Latina instead of a white middle aged mom on nature theraphy and acupuncture Facebook groups.

  3. “Tailored to me” I find it funny that she’s at least admitting that other people are crafting her music and she’s just a voice singing over the demo. In some sense, her music is the generic pop music she’s talking about, the one that is crafted to be a hit on the radio without any emotional connection between the song and the artist.

  8. "[Loud is] just the perfect Rihanna album. Every song is tailored to me. I wanted songs on there that were all Rihanna songs, that nobody else could do. I didn't want the generic pop record that Kesha or Lady Gaga or Katy Perry could do."

  12. Hello people! I barely post on this forum, but I knew I had to post here eventually, haha. I'm Venezuelan. I was born even after Chavez started his presidency, but spent most of my teenage years and adulthood in Maduro's dictatorship. I've read different opinions and perspectives about all of this on social media, but I wanted to share here most of Venezuelans' perspectives about this: People have died, exited the country, and made big sacrifices to get this ILLEGAL government out. The last presidential elections were in July 2024, and Maduro and his criminal gang (because yes, he's in fact a trafficker) stole the elections. The following days resulted in protests and subsequent repression from the policies and the army against the citizens. The elections have been stolen for more than 10 years, and we have fought endlessly to remove this government. All of the powers are directed by the same gang of chavistas, so we don't have freedom at all. That's why many of us (yes, including me) are celebrating because we are solely focusing on something we have been genuinely desperate for: take this government out. Now that I said this, I want to admit some things: I hate Trump, and I'm aware this was done out of interest (oil, although the resources and money were already being stolen by Maduro anyway). Sadly, this is a case where a criminal made another criminal get jailed. A case where the bigger and powerful bully beat the weaker one. Both are horrendous men, and I agree that this can lead to more "interventions" in other countries. But as someone who has been living in the hell that Venezuela is for 23 years... I can't stop feeling happy at the fact that, finally, ignoring the entire context, this dictator has been caught. I will say it again, Venezuelans have: 1. Died 2. Left the country 3. Voted 4. Protested 5. Cried to have this man OUT.

  17. Vaccination should be compulsory. Idc, if you wanna send your kid to public school then they need to be immunized for their own safety and the safety of others. And if you refuse, you better be prepared to comply with the public curriculum while home schooling your child. And if you fail in that too then you're not fit to be a parent anyway. It's infuriating how the right has us sprinting backwards on the most basic things.

  29. Her whole persona from mid to late 2012 was messy but an absolute kii to stan. From tweeting directly as a response to Calvin Harris denying she ever contacted him about a collab back in the day, to her making a borderline p*rnographic unreleased video for CLLG with Terry in Brazil. Her clearly not being interested in or giving af about the FAME perfume. CLLG in general was a messy kii of a time, the rapping was horrid and she was using AAVE in it. Plus she had such a c*nty ego at the time. (Yes I know it was due to drug abuse and label pressure at the time getting to her) You can hear all the drugs and mess that went into ARTPOP’s early stages- the original MANiCURE lyrics and that insane video concept for it, Sex Dreams, making a song called Burqa was insanity. It was the year that birthed the popularity of the twitter troll (2012) and every celebrity online was messy tbh. This was why I love her aesthetic from this time.

  30. She had severe vocal damage (likely) due to drug use. Lady Gaga has revealed consistently that she did severe drugs in her early career (~2007 - July 2013), so that is the only likely possibility. The evolution I like to use: Pre-damage Early damage (starting in October 2008 you could tell that something changed as her voice consistently sounded "heavier") Middle damage (admittedly January 2009 isn't the best showcase because she clearly was sick during this month, but there is where someone without a trained ear can more noticeably hear a difference) Worst vocal damage in March 2009 ---- Early healing (Notice how by May 2009 she isn't straining quite as much, and certain parts of songs sound "smoother") Noticeable healing (V Festival in August followed by the VMAs is the strongest example of this; note how comfortable she starts to sound here with different notes as well as experimenting with different riffs) (with the VMAs I would also reccomend listening to some fancams as MTV autotuned her performance; for example, she actually went flat during the build up to the first high note in the second chorus) ---- I tend to end this here because this is where her eating disorder kicked in which threw off her vocal changes. She became very nervous and low energy which caused her to develop bad vocal technique. This is why she sounded very uncomfortable during the Monsterball 1.0 and early Monsterball 2.0 and other performances around this time like SNL. I assume personally that the deeper more strained sound from mid-2010 was due to this combined with her possibly being exhausted, though it doesn't explain why she started sounded better (more Born This Way era-esque) come late-2010. Trying to tell when her voice fully healed is hard because of her changes in vocal technique (starting due to her eating disorder) and vocal styling (starting with the "Dope" voice in 2013). My best guess is that she probably was fully healed sometime in 2011 - 2012 and definitely by the time the ARTPOP era started, though it should be noted that severe drug damage can't always fully heal itself.
