I don't see how that would change anything tbh. She's already extremely wealthy. If you support her now, supporting her if/when she becomes a billionaire shouldn't make a difference. I guess the argument is that "there are no ethical billionaires," but like...do y'all think getting to be as wealthy as she is right now is ethical either??14 points

Jesy gave birth last year two identical twin girls, it was a difficult pregnancy in which they both nearly died. She has now revealed that the twins have been diagnosed with a condition called SMA Type 1, or Werdnig-Hoffmann disease, the most severe form of Spinal Muscular Atrophy. The lifelong disabling condition causes dramatic muscle weakness with severe breathing and swallowing issues and is commonly fatal without radical treatment and will likely die by 2 years old. Jesy opened up about how the disease “overtime, it kills the muscles in the body”. Jesy then recalled the “very rapid process” of her baby girls getting treated. “Me and Zion had to sign lots of forms before they even got their diagnosis,” she added. “When they assessed the girls at Great Ormond Street, we were told that they will probably never be able to walk. “They probably will never regain their neck strength, so they will be disabled. “So the best thing we can do right now is get them treatment and just hope for the best.” Jesy then revealed that the girls, now seven and a half months old, have had their treatment, which she is “so grateful for, because if they don’t have it, they will die”. “I feel like I’ve almost had to become a nurse in the space of two weeks,” Jesy added, explaining how she has had to put her daughters on breathing machines. “The reason I wanted to make this video was because, the last few months has honestly been the most heartbreaking time of my life. I feel like my whole life has done a 360. “I’m grieving a life I thought I was going to have with my children,” she emotionally said, before acknowledging that she is grateful to have them. “I truly believe that my girls will defy all odds. And with the right help, they will fight this, and go on to do things that have never been done.”9 points

The last thing I will commment about this. Maybe it's time for lefties in privileged countries to back off, stop playing their stupid social media games and stop telling real victims how to feel or react. Believe me, you are doing a big damage to your political movement in other peoples eyes, this attitude only causes rejection in normal people, and that's a great way to lost support.7 points

Looking at that list of most weeks at number one, there is absolutely no reason for her to be ahead of many of those names... in terms of musical quality6 points

Yes. We have seen what she stands for. She has been a philanthropist since the very beginning, she has stood against racism, homophobia, sexism, sexual assault, even Trump (even though lately she has been quiet, which I can guess why)... she has given so much visibility to the importance of mental health. She is just the right deal, if anyone should become a billionaire, it should be Gaga. We wish all of them billionaires were like her.6 points

Something that people fail to realize discussing this is that most Venezuelans are reacting out of emotion. Those of us who aren't affected by this directly are looking at it more rationally. I will not support US intervention and imperialism. I also do not support Maduro or those allied with him. These things are not mutually exclusive.6 points

I love how she’s choosing to be optimistic and hopeful for their kids, and yet still honest about her feelings. I hear stories of parents with severely disabled children only focus on their grief and treat their child like a burden, so it’s refreshing to hear she loves her girls enough to believe5 points

I wouldn't care, I'm broke either way Although I don't support her ticket prices for the last tour5 points

Kamala Harris: Donald Trump’s actions in Venezuela do not make America safer, stronger, or more affordable. That Maduro is a brutal, illegitimate dictator does not change the fact that this action was both unlawful and unwise. We’ve seen this movie before. Wars for regime change or oil that are sold as strength but turn into chaos, and American families pay the price. The American people do not want this, and they are tired of being lied to. This is not about drugs or democracy. It is about oil and Donald Trump’s desire to play the regional strongman. If he cared about either, he wouldn’t pardon a convicted drug trafficker or sideline Venezuela’s legitimate opposition while pursuing deals with Maduro’s cronies. The President is putting troops at risk, spending billions, destabilizing a region, and offering no legal authority, no exit plan, and no benefit at home. America needs leadership whose priorities are lowering costs for working families, enforcing the rule of law, strengthening alliances, and — most importantly — putting the American people first.5 points

Right, like idk the fun on this site often supersedes the output from her imo. Music is still great, love mayhem, but this site is a fun, living breathing mess. I probably would be less tapped into her generally if it wasn’t fun to come on here still4 points

Drake has been accused in a federal class-action RICO lawsuit of using the online sweepstakes casino Stake.us to boost the play counts of his music across the major streaming platforms. Drake, along with online influencer Adin Ross and another person alleged to be an accomplice, George Nguyen, are also accused of using the site’s internal transfer features to hide how money was used to finance the alleged fraud, according to the lawsuit filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia on behalf of two Virginia residents. “At the heart of the scheme, Drake — acting directly and through willing and knowledgeable co-conspirators — has deployed automated bots and streaming farms to artificially inflate play counts of his music across major platforms, such as Spotify,” the lawsuit states. Their aim, according to the lawsuit, was to “manufacture popularity” and “distort playlists and charts.” No one has been charged criminally with regard to the allegations in the lawsuit. The lawsuit, which also names Stake.us and parent company Sweepstakes Limited as defendants, was filed as Drake (real name Aubrey Drake Graham) has been preparing to release a new album titled “Iceman.” https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/drake-accused-using-online-gambling-platform-inflate-play-counts-music-rcna2519154 points

she’s worth hundreds of millions of dollars already, a billion isn’t exactly that different4 points

Of course. Another zero on her bank account won't change who she is to me. She's already stupidly rich, that would make literally no difference. I'd only be side-eyeing some stupid, definitely money driven ideas (nurtec), but if she decides to start something new, idk, brand, fragrances, etc, If it's good quality, go for it.4 points

Saving this for my next hookup OT: No my own personal values are more important to me than remaining loyal to a celebrity. I might still take my friends to her shows but any feelings I have for her would be purely nostalgic. "So got me through so much" could still be a true statement. "I don't really care for her anymore" would also be true. Billionaires are evil, even Gaga4 points

wtf are you talking about?? Are you really invalidating what Venezuelans that left the country say by calling them propagandized?? That's low. There's even an immigrant in this thread and you dare to say that. You are basically acting like the meme: If don't agree with my views you are right-wing. And that attitude causes a lot of rejection, more than any propaganda.4 points

Just to offer some perspective some people join the military out of a necessity. To leave the situation, get an education etc. My mom and bio dad both joined when they were 18. It was the only way they could get a college education. The US gives “perks” like education for joining like this which is how we actually end up with people joining. Not to say some people don’t join because they want to support the US military efforts etc because that also happens.4 points

People who cheer this on because they dislike Maduro are knowingly cheering on the bombing of innocent civilians and basking in it at worst and are mis-informed at best. The US will just install a right wing dictatorship in the place of the current Maduro admin. We talk a big game about how much we love promoting democracy abroad but we never actually follow through on it. The US will not be the savior of the Venezuelan people, they're not even the saviors of their own citizens.4 points

I really hope behind the scenes this may act as a catalyst to get the girls all speaking again. **** a reunion etc. I just want her to have that support network to lean on.3 points

Support her, yes. But I would be side-eyeing her hard. If she didn't prove she was doing something worthwhile, or creating (in her own word) 'impact' with it, I'd start to question if her morals have changed and she'd become corrupted over time as money and power seem to do that3 points

It won't ignite a world war because there's a return to spheres of influence - America from Poland to the Pacific/Okinawa or from the East Coast to Guam in its own borders, Russia from the Bering Strait to Kaliningrad, and China in the South China Sea. Russia and the USA are now LESS likely to wage war against each other because both get a piece of the pie. Ironically, the global world is now safer (but not for Eastern Europe and Central America). There could be a clash between the USA and China because the USA insists on a claim to power over almost the entire Pacific, but this is unlikely to be sustainable if China continues to grow stronger and will claim its share of the Pacific. So a global war is much more likely to erupt around Taiwan than over Venezuela or Ukraine.3 points

I'm sorry but from a non-american point of view, no one joining the US military should be respected. The US army has been since decades a complete terrorist organization, invading, bombing and ruining countless countries, responsible for million of losses. Anyone willingly joining this imperial mass destruction organization is either stupid and completly blinded by propaganda, or a truely evil person, or both. And in 2025, I think that most people know that all these US led wars are never for a good cause and never end up right.3 points
