I think most people would agree that MAYHEM’s "bottom 3" songs are Blade Of Grass, The Beast & Killah… but WHY do so many people dislike Don’t Call Tonight? It is not the first MAYHEM song I reach for but, every time it comes on shuffle, I find myself totally hooked. Harmless at worst & wonderful at best. Pleasant-sounding verses, Tina Turner chorus, vocoder bridge & meaningful lyrics (most likely about her complicated relationship with her father). It is soulful & certainly stronger than a “filler" track. If you are one of the people afflicted with DCT-aversion, would you please explain your reasoning?10 points

Well I gotta say that I Kissed A Girl, Hot N Cold and Waking Up In Vegas are better than any songs on Chromatica and OOTB streams are surely very much carried by these 3 singles only10 points

Can she release it within like the next 12 hours? We don't need that energy in 202610 points

I don't think Blackout influenced The Fame because Gaga had been working on that since 2006, completed probably half of it by early 2008. David Bowie, New York, Lady Starlight, Freddie Mercury and RedOne said that Leila K influenced The Fame sound. I think between Gaga, Britney, Black Eyed Peas and Kylie Minogue, they all helped each other push the electro pop sound into mainstream with more artists like Pitbull, Jason Derulo, Usher, Kesha and DJs like David Guetta, Zedd, Calvin Harris just completely take over the charts.7 points

I recently just got my first real gig as a graphic designer with a known artist in my country by just dming everyone, error and trial y’all. The people who see it as desperate weren’t for you anyways (would probably be HELL to work with).7 points

I'm still learning on how to effectively use some effects and altering on Photoshop. So please, bare with me Preview: Enhancements: Editing Feel free to use them on your phone/desktop. If you'd share them with others, would be nice to get some credits for it. Took me a while More to come! x Ricky6 points

Ngl I don’t even go up for Sexxx Dreams like that, but I’ll never understand the hate the album version gets. IMO the new bridge is superior and the the call and response in the chorus is sexy and catchy as hell 🤷♂️ I feel the same way about MANiCURE, tbh. I think the vocal takes on the studio version are better, I don’t *hate* that the original post-chorus is the bridge, and honestly, my biggest gripe is the mixing. The sci-fi whistles getting completely lost in the back of the mix is travesty.6 points

We forget that celebs are basically contract workers. They don't have stable employment and need gigs to keep them afloat. Doesn't matter if you're a singer at the local bar or Miley Cyrus. I respect the hustle.6 points

I mean this isnt shocking. Iconic hits from that era will stay having streams longer than the non-career defining hits of Chromatica. The only song on Chromatica that will keep getting any meaningful streams is Rain On Me and even that one the streams is not going to compare with Gagas biggest iconic hits (or Katies) When Katies breakout album outstreams The Fame, then well talk5 points

I alwayssss sing it dans le love game and I will die on the hill that she originally sang it as that in-studio. The Fame era was very French5 points

In a new interview, Cyrus said she booked the end credit song of the new 'Avatar' movie because she threw it out there to director James Cameron — then went on to recall how she specifically attended the 2025 Oscars intending to pitch herself for gigs. “Everybody that came up and introduced themselves, I said, ‘Well, if you need any music, I’m around.’” https://www.instagram.com/p/DS3JaRAE50S/5 points

https://www.nytimes.com/games/strands For thos unaware, NYT has a series of word games that people like to play. The most popular ones are Connections and Wordle, but they have others that still get a lot of plays. Lady Gaga was referenced in today's Strands puzzle. I won't give it away, but this shows that she is becoming more of a force again. SPOILER WARNING!5 points

No. Britney stans love to say it did but it didn't. The thing is, Blackout sounds very 2007 with similar sounding tracks reminiscent of Timbaland. It didn't have that big an impact on pop culture and if i remember correctly, Britney was dragged during that era and was panned It took her until Womanizer to reclaim that. Nonetheless, to say Blackout was influential in the 2010s dance trend in music is a complete overstatement and borderline delusional. Gaga was unique in her sound and was the first one to bring 4 on the floor beats to radio again, and it was after Gaga's succes and the popularity of The Fame that we had dance influences back in pop music. I mean literally without Just Dance, Kesha wouldn't have had a career as she was brought on by her label to rival Gaga with Tik Tok. There would also be no Evacuate The Dance Floor by Kascada. Blackout didn't influence these artists and/or songs, Gaga did with The Fame.5 points

No. I loved Blackout. But it was nothing compared to the Fame. And there were other artists doing it at the time too (see X by Kylie Minogue) but none of them performed like The Fame did, and candidly, it’s because none of them had music of the same caliber.5 points

There's nothing more basic than Katy Perry's discography so of course the big hits from 15 years ago have those numbers. Chromatica being "bad" for Gaga's standards is still better, more enjoyable and cohesive than a lot of major releases today. Just Rain On Me, 911, Replay and Babylon clear those 3 songs.4 points

Sexxx Dreams purely because of "I can't believe I'm telling you this but I had a couple of drinks and oh my god"4 points
-
Sexxx Dreams had a lot of potential but the Swinefest version is far superior than the album version. It didn't need the extra vocals in the chorus spoiling the synths. Both tracks have a great bassline. Zombieboy is just perfectly executed in everyway: the instrumental arrangements (that groovy bass alone and those funky guitars!), the production, the vocals, that bridge... Chef's kiss.4 points

I'd even say that Confessions On A Dance Floor and Future Sex/Love Sounds also had a big influence in pop music.4 points
