Whenever people say that performances don’t matter anymore because they don’t translate into impact, engagement, or social media interactions, I always push back on that idea. After watching Harlequin Live, I found myself going back to the album, something I hadn’t really done since its release (I only played it a couple of times back then). Now it’s on repeat... and honestly, I have to give flowers where they are due- the live special was absolutely stunning. Live performances do matter. They deepen and elevate the listening experience in ways nothing else can!

This absolutely incredible special has cemented this project as one of her greatest artistic achievements ever. Brilliantly conceptualized, performed, shot, and oddly - strategically promoted. Good job co-producer Bobby and daddy Michael for accepting Gaga for what she is, and amplifying it in the best way possible.

Finally watched this today, what an amazing performance! It makes me love Herlequin even more. I like its aesthetic SO much so I LOVE that stage, small and intimate, with the right details and things she can interact with and throw around. Seeing her act crazy/happy, jumping and throwing the pillow feathers to the audience and her crew was so wholesome And wow, her vocals are perfect even as she's moving around a lot. Loved her outfits, especially that poofy pink "bloody" dress. Highlights for me were Oh When the Saints, Joker and Happy Mistake. I really hope she can revisit this sound and vibe again but with original songs and without it being tied to a badly received movie. Although there is something poetic and perfect about the album being this way (a hidden gem that didn't get its flowers, yet!) and her Harlequin persona.

In what world could Taylor make a song like LoveDrug or Don't Call Tonight I'm all about "people have different tastes" but that's just straight delulu. And LoveDrug is far from generic tbh. The pounding rhythm, the vocoder, some of the best and most heartfelt lyrics on the album, one of the best hooks on the album too. Bloody Mary suffers the "I don't really like BTW's production" curse Live? It f*cks hard. But if we're going by album versions? Even Teeth outclasses her I fear
