She really is the greatest performer of her generation, even better than Beyonce when you take sheer versatility into account. Happy Mistake is an incredible career highlight and would have been better to swap places with Blade of Grass on Mayhem.14 points

Yeah this special solidified why I stan Gaga as a musician first and foremost above every other mainstream artist out there. Nobody can do what she just did. The fact that DWAS came out, Harlequin came out, this was recorded, Disease after that, and then everything Mayhem that came post-Disease… no one does it like our girl. Nobody. She is a one of a kind.14 points

Even the credits are worth the wait I'm so grateful that she didn’t lock this in the basement and that we got this for free after all14 points

Are you saying she never played the guitar during the Dive Bar shows?14 points

man somebody really needs to get her to do broadway. I think this is the closest musical/theater thing she's done, and she's a natural.14 points

loving this so far. god I wish it were more normalized for artists to perform a whole album as a show vs. the importance on playing the hits don’t get me wrong, I wanna hear Poker Face too, but I looooove when a concept album gets its own special moment14 points

Pretty safe to say she’s one of the greatest performers/entertainers of all time13 points

I just scrolled the timeline to tease myself the look with the hat is giving this13 points

Just started watching and I love how it feels like an extended delusion of Harley from the movie. Like she’s imagining a whole concert in her bedroom. I also love Gaga’s styling choices more than the movie they should’ve let her have more control imo. Also, I can already tell this will become a Xmas tradition for me to watch this special because I LOVE the album and these performances make it so much better too13 points

not to put down anybody else, but comparing her with any modern pop star from this point forward would be totally disrespectful, this woman is her own thing and on her own level, and about damn time some lms start acting like they stan the legend that she is!!!12 points

This is the stuff I want most of all from her. This music allows her to show off just how good she is at the business of singing. There was no resting and letting the backing track take over, there was no backing track in fact, there was just what she was producing on that stage and I thought it was superb. Everything was so crisp and clear and confident, and, as ever, the basic sound that is produced when she opens her mouth is gorgeous. And I haven't even mentioned her theatricality, which ran right through the whole thing. Sensational performance Just sensational.12 points

This was fantastic. Even better than its parent album. She's electric on that stage and should definitely keep approaching her jazz shows (and albums) like this. Already on my second watch.12 points

Harlequin is such an amazing album, one of the best jazz records of all time. C2C and LFS felt too studied, Gaga playing a jazz songstress, while Harlequin is Gaga being a jazz artist - free and expressive. It's pretty sad that her fans don't care enough to stream it... Truly deserved so much more. Album of The Year. Loved everything about this show, from the set design to the lighting and costumes, the camera work and choreography. No notes. Just perfect.11 points

Just hand her the Grammy already. I dont even like jazz but the way this is shot, her vocals, it is insane. Name one other name in pop who can do this and something like the Mayhem Ball. Her range is just insane11 points

The power this woman has to have people headbanging and jumping to jazz music in 202510 points

im not a jazz fan but gaga just makes jazz so special and unique. her ability to hook me with her stripped back jazz performances is genuinely so insane and impressive and an incredible testament to her skills as a performer. her confidence and vocal control are both at their absolute peak the last 12 or so months and her voice has so much range and is so dynamic especially now that its impossible to not get enamored with these more intimate vocal presentations. you can tell she just adores performing jazz i need more jazz specials like this it was so so so good10 points

I have a few thoughts First, "my head is filled with broken mirrors, so many I can't look away" remains my favorite lyric she's ever written. It's so heavy, relatable, and a huge part of the reason Happy Mistake is my favorite Second, Brian Newman was lowkey serving Edgar from The Aristocats Third, Gaga with a feather pillow is too dangerous Fourth, Tim remains hot and I'm happy I got his sweat on me a few years ago9 points

My god what a show! Finally getting to hear this album live is such a treat and I was so happy to finally hear Gaga sing Folie à Deux and Close to You! Also, I think I love Happy Mistake even more after that performance Watched it with my mom and she loved it (in her words, “She is such a ****ing fantastic performer! Weird but fantastic!”)9 points

"Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" is a song written by Bennie Benjamin, Horace Ott and Sol Marcus for American singer-songwriter and pianist Nina Simone, who recorded the first version in 1964 for her album Broadway-Blues-Ballads. "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" has been covered by many artists. Two of the covers were transatlantic hits, the first in 1965 by the Animals on their album Animal Tracks, which was a blues rock version; and in 1977 by the disco group Santa Esmeralda on their album Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, which was a four-on-the-floor rearrangement. A 1986 cover by new wavemusician Elvis Costello found success in Britain and Ireland. Wiki source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don't_Let_Me_Be_Misunderstood8 points

So she filmed it shortly before the premiere of Joker and, once the movie bombed, I’m assuming they didn’t want to draw any more negative attention to Gaga and wanted a clean break so they could move on to MAYHEM. She released it now because, not only has enough time passed for this to be considered something separate from the failure of Joker, but also because she’s campaigning for Harlequin to win Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at the Grammys.8 points

I have just finished it and OH MY GOD, I was expecting a very simple and plain production kinda like Jazz & Piano, just her standing there with the band but I’m obsessed with the set, the lighting, how she interacted with every single piece of the stage, it’s AMAZING8 points

That Harlequin Live was one of the best things she's EVER done. Variety did not lie. Holy sh*t her VOCALS and unparalleled versatility were on full display. Happy Mistake ended careers but The Joker, Gonna Build A Mountain, That's Life were absolutely insane too as was the whole special. We are blessed to stan this level of talent. She is one of ONE8 points

I am SPEECHLESS. I’ve loved this woman since 2008, and every day it is SO WORTH IT. I’ve never been a particularly big fan of jazz music, with exceptions of course, however no matter what she has done on the Jazz field makes me so fond of that genre. However personal highlight for me is definitely the trio Joker / Folie À Deux / Happy Mistake 🥺♥️ on an unrelated note: which one of you creative little monsters is creating the cover art for downloading this and turning it into an album?8 points

Some of you saw “One Night Only” and took it very literally lol. It’s the subtitle of the special because she only performed the show once, not because the special will only be available for one night.8 points

The Artist in Gracie Mansion Rama Duwaji is excited for her husband Zohran Mamdani’s new job. Just don’t call her the mayor’s plus-one. Rama Duwaji is moving in slow motion. At least, that’s how it’s felt since 10 p.m. on June 24, the night that put her on the fast track to becoming one of New York City’s youngest First Ladies — and its first-ever Muslim one. An aide for her husband, Zohran Mamdani, looked over at Duwaji and yelled over the cheering at his primary-election watch party at a brewery in Long Island City, “He won!” In shock, Duwaji responded, “What do you mean?!” Full Story: https://www.thecut.com/article/rama-duwaji-cut-cover-interview-zohran-mamdani.html7 points
