What’s the point of security? Jesus f-cking Christ imagine if he had a weapon. This guy needs to be stopped. Like I’m actually pissed watching this and how he keeps getting away with it.15 points

To be real it make more sense seeing her pushing a TF / TFM situation with MAYHEM than any of her last three albums. There's a BIG demands and this album was a critics / awards nods slay13 points

On her Instagram post of this photoshoot, she speaks a bit more about Harlequin: "And Harlequin…it feels like much more than a year ago. It’s an album about empowerment and refusing to be minimized or left out in the cold. These arrangements are my first new steps since Tony died. I’m so proud of Harlequin and how it prepared me for the most incredible year of MAYHEM. Sometimes I forget this has been just one single year."12 points

The bit where Michael talks about “never seeing someone so talented and gifted feeling so disempowered” and wanting to help give her the space to find herself again12 points

just read the whole thing and no, it doesn’t. it’s a great read though - she talks about her mental health through the years and how it’s been for her touring such an emotionally heavy show https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/lady-gaga-mayhem-tour-grammys-cover-story-interview-1235460150/12 points

Amazing interview! “I feel lucky to be alive” is such a powerful statement. It still affects me to think about the internal turmoil she went through and the suffering that could have culminated in a tragedy. And to think that we are now witnessing what may be the best moment in her professional and personal lives so far! She rose from the ashes and brought immense joy to us all. Gaga’s a giant, she’s my superhero. She’s my living proof that life can get better. I will never take that for granted her bravery in not giving up on herself. Love you so much Gaga11 points

As an aside: I love quoting someone who’s clearly muted me. It’s like talking to myself (something I enjoy immensely)9 points

The Chromatica Ball is her darkest show, in my opinion. It's not always particularly obvious, when looking at the setlist or promotional materials, but something about it just felt oppressive and cold. The Babylon/Free Woman segment is, in my opinion, the only segment that feels even remotely joyful or celebratory–even Stupid Love and Rain on Me managed to somehow feel bleak and dark (and I mean this as a huge compliment). The Mayhem Ball feels more fantastical to me. It's like stepping into some biblical Renaissance painting. There may be darkness, but it's so exaggerated and indulgent that it feels operatic and awe-inspiring.9 points

Not only that but Gaga is notoriously known to be a little too nice when handing credits. DJWS, Redone and now even Michael himself have mentioned how she tends to give songwriting credits like her life depends on it. Michael apparently wasn't even expecting to be credited at all. Im sure he just helped her arrive at the idea but 75% was still written by her8 points

I fully went to read the interview expecting an announcement of new music and instead came across something much better... God, I'm really glad she's happy and doing better. I wish her nothing but the best8 points

OMG it's been so long since we had a shoot of this calibre. That COVER!! The fingers are so BTW 2.0. Would not have been mad if that was the album cover.8 points

The Chromatica Ball imo. Imo it's Gaga's most poetic show. It felt claustrophic and the opening emphasised that. I've also never seen any tour use material that resembled concrete for their staging.8 points

Chromatica Ball with the brutalist aesthetic paired with the dance music made it darker I think8 points

I know it might not be the right time to say this, but Cynthia is really a great friend. She stopped him even before security got there.7 points

What she says about Chromatica sort of upset me. IMO (!) Chromatica’s lyrics are superior to most of Mayhem. It had more to say than most of Mayhem does.7 points
-
oh ****, this is the most heartfelt and sincere interview/write-up of her. Put so much perspectives into Mayhem and the last 10 years of her career. She opens up so much and didn't shy away from controversial subjects like ARTPOP, joker, and her father. I've never said it before, but I'm gonna say this one time: thank you Michael! She really needed this levelheaded with Buddha-type enery man in her life.7 points
-
Cant believe Gaga secretly founded a skin-medical research company for Michael, AND she's in the board as well, while some monsters were out here worried he was invading too much of her career lol. Its nice to see they both take a role in each others work.7 points
