  4. There seems to be a number of posts about various Gaga songs being a mistake so I thought I’d throw this one out there. Personally, I happen to quite like the Gaga and think she is somewhat talented so I’m going to go with her not being a mistake. What are your thoughts?

  7. I think saying the album is strictly dedicated to her deceased aunt is reductive. The album, imo, uses the way the loss of Joanne affected her family, her father, and her specifically to examine where Gaga was emotionally at that time in her life and also was a gateway for her to look at her life from a different angle (who would I be right now if I weren’t famous?). If we consider it strictly as being dedicated to her aunt, it’s pretty easy to see most of the album isn’t really directly about her, but rather about both the way the trauma effected Gaga individually, indirectly through her relationship with her father and the way that trauma shaped her future relationships, and the way Gaga as an adult is trying to reconcile and mend those feelings, experiences, and aspects of her life.

  8. I don’t. It was cute at first but I don’t care about their relationship tbh

  9. No. It’s a good song and a welcome addition to the album and era.

  10. Borderline offensive to mention it in the same sentence as The Cure.

  11. Exactly this, Joanne is essentially her “come of age” record when she finally stopped being a young woman and became an adult and started realising what she wanted to make sonically and how she wanted to write. It’s essentially the younger (albeit more stubborn) version of Mayhem. We have songs like Diamond Heart about the time she was basically in the seedy underbelly of NYC but at the core of the gogo dancing, the drug taking, the partying she was a good person. A-yo is a direct response to the hate she got for ARTPOP imo and how she’s saying “I can’t wait for you to eat your words”, Perfect Illusion, DIC and Million Reasons are about 3 stages of her relationship with Taylor “peak, breakdown and post revelation”. Songs like Come to Mama, Just Another Day and Angel Down are about Gaga’s personality at the age in which she wrote it about her world views and her longing for a simple life. Grigio Girls is obviously about her girlfriends rallying around each other and Sonja in particular. And of course Joanne is about her dad and what she felt like he would’ve said to her if he could see her one more time.

  13. How the fk is it the least streamed song I would truly expect it to be Teeth or Speechless (don't get me wrong I LOVE these songs but Teeth has mixed feelings from this fanbase and I would expect the GP to skip Speechless since it's a ballad).

  14. Lady Gaga is no longer relevant. Ever since Born this way she's a flop. DO NOT dothedeaddance. Give her no A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E. She's over.

  15. It’s actually a personal album and only the title track relates to Joanne. Joanne was the first song she wrote when Mark asked her what she had to write about; everything else is about her career and personal life and DIC is just about Taylor really. The album is dedicated to her, but the only song about her is the title track.

  17. Idk what meaningful impact you guys expect or think people are expecting tho. I don’t think anyone expected BM or TDD to be number one or something especially because of competition from the older songs (Thriller, Monster Mash, etc.), but this year definitely cemented the impact Halloween has on her discography as a whole I think some of you mistake people’s wishful thinking as serious delusion or actual expectations. Can’t we just enjoy that our queen is THE Queen of Halloween and not argue about whether or not the boost is “as big as people thought” or if it proves people “right” or “wrong”. A 14 year old song charting top 20 on global Spotify because of a specific holiday is a huge, meaningful boost. You can quite literally look at BM’s streams increasing on Halloween year to year and see how it’s increasing popularity each Halloween snowballs into further impact the next year

  20. And the answer is YES! Blade of Grass is so underrated and unfairly treated by this fanbase. After all these years of hearing Gaga sing about longing, heartbreak, and the search for real love, it feels like she’s finally found it. "I’ve been so lonely in this field, fighting a battle with no shield." That lyric hits me every time!!! It feels like she’s looking back on all the pain she’s carried over the years, but now there’s peace and a sense of comfort she once thought she’d never have. She doesn’t have to face life alone anymore. That’s why this song means so much to me. It gives me hope that love is still out there, no matter how long it takes. So whenever I hear another fan act negatively towards this song, it low-key irks me because of how sentimental it probably is to her. Like can we just be happy for once?!

  22. Nope! I think it's fun! Might not've been the biggest Gaga song this halloween but still a great addition to her repertoire in my opinion.

  27. I love seeing the trend I started. Feels like Gaga thoughts is alive again! About this one, yes, it definitely WAS a mistake. BOG should have been on harlequin. It would fit in better with the rest of Harlequin quality-wise. And if Happy Mistake was on Mayhem it would receive more attention, which it deserves. It also fits the theme of the album better than BOG.

  37. The lack of rap songs in the Hot 100’s top 40 is the latest sign of a recent dip in rap’s commercial dominance. Hip-hop’s overall market share reached a peak in 2020, when it neared 30%. That had slipped to just over 25% in 2023, and has been at 24% so far in 2025, through the week of Oct. 23. In the Hot 100 chart for the equivalent chart week five years ago (dated Oct. 24, 2020), a whopping 16 of the top 40 were rap songs, while in the equivalent chart two years ago (Oct. 28, 2023) there were eight rap songs in the top 40.
