Still arguably in poor taste but it's clear her intention was to get under Dr. Luke's skin8 points

BTW was also a smash hit (which the streaming numbers don’t really reflect because it came out on the cusp of streaming really exploding). It was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks when it came out!6 points

David Harbour isn't even in either of their leagues. But also, not the mistress acting like she's some sort of victim. She knew she was f*cking around with a famous man married to a famous woman; what did she expect?6 points

Back in 2014 at Kate Hudson’s annual Halloween party, Lily, who was one of many celebrities to attend, went for a topical, music industry-insider costume: Dr. Luke as a gynecologist. At the time, songwriter and music producer Dr Luke had been accused of emotional abuse, sexual assault, and battery, by Kesha. In her lawsuit, the singer alleged that Dr. Luke plied her with drugs and alcohol, then made sexual advances when her defenses were down. Hence, Allen’s gynecologist reference. x5 points

At least US Radio charts #54 (+2) The Dead Dance - 20.55 (new peak in audience) (+0.22) Expect a rise in position (and a new peak in position) because a Tate McRae song is falling so hard just above it.5 points

I’m very pleasantly surprised that a festival in Istanbul did this since Turkey is known for its conservative politics. This gives me hope. Bravo5 points

I'm reading some comments in this thread, and I want to say this: All of Lady Gagas lead singles have been high risk to some degree, and that's okay honestly. Just Dance was an unapologetically european electropop song released in the middle of a huge dominance of R&B/Hip-Hop. Even Colby O'Donnis' verse couldn't prevent getting the song to play on radio from being a colossal uphill battle. Bad Romance sounded almost nothing like anything else out in late 2009. The very aggressive vocals (especially during the verses) were very much so against the trend of simpler and higher-toned pop vocals. Born This Ways unapologetic acceptance of different marginalized communities was high-risk at a time when they could've (and did) made people look at Lady Gaga negatively, but she (thankfully) took the risk. Applause was a brazen (and much needed) slap in the face to anyone who wanted Lady Gaga to tone down who she was in 2013 and "stop being attention seeking". Plus, the lyrics are almost entirely unrelatable to the average person (save for performers) which also made it high risk. Perfect Illusion was a (literally) Tame Impala inspired rock/80s throwback song released in the middle of the Tropical Pop/experimental Hip-Hop and R&B trend. Need I saw more? Stupid Love was an unapologetic return to the loud and cvnty dance music Lady Gaga had been making at the beginning of her career. Yes there was Don't Start Now and Blinding Lights, but this was a step further. It was even high risk considering the fact that many people misinterpreted the meaning of A Star is Born. Disease is a very dark and aggressive song released in the midst of TikToks very unpredictable algorithm of making songs viral, and it was also released in the middle of the ongoing Soft Rock/Disco inspired trend. None of Lady Gagas lead singles have been truly low-risk, and that's why I love her. She and Interscope have rarely every kissed up to what people wanted from her, and she should continue to do so.4 points

Honestly, Gaga belting the chorus of The Beast while Billie harmonizes and sings the second verse would kinda f*ck make the song more trancy than rock ballad too4 points

I read that the funny part was that she dressed up as him because he's a monster. I don't know if she did it with malicious intent. I think she has a very dark sense of humor (which isn't a bad thing), but since she's a public figure, she should be more reserved.3 points

Today, that hunt is over. The Mail on Sunday can exclusively reveal the identity of ‘Madeline’ as costume designer Natalie Tippett. The 34-year-old single mother, who lives in New Orleans, spoke to this newspaper from her home in the city’s historic Treme district to admit that she was the woman at the heart of Allen’s new album – and at the centre of her marriage break-up. But blonde Ms Tippett was reluctant to hit back, or to turn her sex life into a public debate. ‘Of course I’ve heard the song,’ she said, rolling her eyes. ‘But I have a family and things to protect. I have a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and I understand this is going on. ‘It’s a little bit scary for me.’ It is understood that Ms Tippett met 50-year-old David Harbour, who is 16 years her senior, while filming the Netflix movie We Have A Ghost in 2021, on location in New Orleans. Harbour was the movie’s leading man, while Ms Tippett worked in the costume department. Their affair reportedly began shortly after shooting started. Harbour had married Lily, who has two daughters, Ethel, 13, and 12-year-old Marnie from her previous marriage to Sam Cooper, in Las Vegas the year before. Even after filming ended, Harbour reportedly flew Ms Tippett to his home in Atlanta, Georgia, as the affair continued behind Allen’s back. But his secret fling was exposed when Allen saw an incriminating text message on his mobile phone, and as her marriage fell apart she turned her heartache into music. Ms Tippett spoke to this newspaper from the living room of her historic clapboard home, which is decorated with glowing neon signs and elegant furnishings. Her toddler daughter bounced around the room happily in a rainbow-coloured tutu. She nods sadly when asked if she knew her private text messages were being used in the lyrics of Allen’s songs. ‘Yeah,’ she sighed. ‘I just don’t feel comfortable talking about it at the moment.’ The Mail on Sunday reported earlier this year that Lily had turned detective after suspecting David of cheating. Allen’s circle of London friends said the singer had believed since last autumn that her husband was interested in other women. The couple, who had met on the celebrity dating app Raya, had disabled their profiles following a whirlwind romance. But Lily decided to re-join the app to check on her husband’s activity – and discovered he had a secret profile which had been active for around a month. York from Atlanta’ and a ‘closet nerd that plays tough guys on your TV’. His profile song is listed as the Houses Of The Holy by Led Zeppelin. A source said at the time: ‘Lily was looking for women that were on Raya and cross-referencing them with women David follows on Instagram to try to figure out who he was seeing.’ By the time the couple broke up, however, she had become convinced that he had a secret girlfriend, which later proved to be correct. The source added: ‘Lily has never even looked at anyone since she met David. She is devastated.’ https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-15227093/Madeline-Lily-Allen-world-exclusive-reveal-mum-affair-stars-husband-David-Harbour-Natalie-Tippett-exposed.html3 points
