Hey folks! I have never been to a concert in my life (concert virgin here 🙈), but I have to see Lady Gaga. I’m in Minneapolis and planning to go to the Saint Paul show. My budget is under $400 total. I know I won’t get the straight-on “dead center” view at that price, but I’d love your advice on which seats are actually great for the experience, sections/levels to aim for vs avoid, side angles that still feel close, etc, or concert-related advice!

I wanted to make a thread to discuss this dream in one thread instead of bringing it up randomly in other threads. I noticed a lot of people wanting it, both in the Gaga fandom, and in the NIN fandom. There's a lot of things that has happened, mostly coincidental, that I'm sure it really just her wearing her influence/referencing it, or simply working with the same people, but these things have made me more and more hype for the potential of it happening. - she's had NIN listed as an influence since her MySpace days - She covered NIN's version (iirc) of I'm Afraid of Americans, a song Trent appeared on the music video and remixes for. It's a staple song that he performs on tour - Her stylist (I think it was Hunter Clem?) shared a story of her wearing that car dress, using the song Closer in the story - She included multiple NIN songs on her Sirius XM radio station, and cited NIN as a big inspiration for Mayhem. Closer, Hurt (I thought Down In It was there too, but maybe I'm misremembering things) - Shes implied she's met him multiple times, using the word "stoked" to describe it, meaning it must have been a positive experience for her - Trent has liked an Instagram post reporting how she said she "blacks out" in his presence, could imply he finds amusement out of it, in a good way - She wore a NIN sweater - Trent's wife Mariqueen follows/knows(?) the designer Gaga has worked with for her bodysuit at Mayhem Ball (Zana Bayne), obviously this is more coincidental and celebs share designer contacts. That same designer attended NIN's LA shows two weeks ago, and attended with Hunter - The creative directors/studio Gaga worked with (MTLA) for Harlequin, Harlequin special, Mayhem's album artwork/marketing/visual videos and the Disease Music video, are the same folks that worked on the Tron NIN reveal, NIN's recent Peel It Back tour, concert visuals, and the Alive As You Need Me to Be music video. Note that this small studio/duo opened last year, includes a long time Gaga collaborator Todd Tourso since 2010. Publicly, their first two clients seem to be Gaga and NIN, but I'm sure there's more that isn't posted about? They also attended many of the NIN shows. - Sarah Tanno last week shared a TikTok using a Closer mashup - Tosh, her drummer, did a cover of NIN's Wish last week - Trent is generally more open to pop music these days: working with Halsey, enjoying Espresso, and Dua Lipa's Levitating, in which he said he teared up to. He's also a Rosalia fan, and watched Katseye with his family at Coachella 26 - Tosh was just on a podcast where he said Gaga told him to approach his drumming like “Nine Inch Nails and Rammstein playing over EDM” and “that’s her vibe” - Freddie shared a makeup/hair tutorial on 10/27 wearing a NIN shirt. I commented about needing that collab and he liked it - Josh Freese, NIN's tour drummer, joins Gaga for the Abra Grammy's performance - Mayhem Requiem - Killah has NIN vibes, Gaga reshared a TikTok of someone saying this - Stu Brooks, who once worked for Gaga during The Fame, is now NIN's tour bassist - Mariqueen Reznor wears headpiece made by same designer (Zana Bayne) who created Gaga's bodysuit at Mayhem Ball - NIN Coachella set was creative directed by MTLA - KILLAH REQUIEM. - speculating she’s wearing a nin tee with tape covering the logo in the requiem behind the scenes - she saved a TikTok video of someone asking her to make a rock album next I really want to know what they talked about! If Gaga were to do a Dawn of Chromatica style remix album. Who would you like to see? For me, it’d be a mixture of legacy, up & coming, and niche artists from all around the world that fit with Mayhem and Gaga’s artistry, image, voice, and activism. Here are some examples: Nine inch nails- she is a big fan and the influence is felt significantly on Mayhem. A collab would be insane and would work very well on Disease. The Cure- Gaga is also a major fan of The Cure and they have a big legacy. They could maybe work on a song like Perfect Celebrity. Yungblud- up and coming Alternative Rockstar that has had some mild success. He is amazing and also has done a lot of activist work in his limited time span. I could see something like Can’t Stop The High. The Darkness- served as the opening act for her Monster Ball Tour. They would sound great on Killa or Vanish Into You. Doja Cat- she is a big Gaga fan and her recent album was pretty Prince inspired. She would sound great on a track like Shadow of a Man, Kill For Love or Killa. Kesha- given their history and Kesha having a big comeback recently. I think it’d be cute and I could see her working well on a song like Garden of Eden, Zombieboy, or LoveDrug. Bad Bunny- He’s a massive fan and Gaga expressed wanting to do a collab recently. I could see a Latin flavored remix of Don’t Call Tonight. Rosalia- same reasoning and thoughts as Bad Bunny’s. Doechi- up and coming female rapper that is a big fan of Gaga and supporter of LGBT rights. I could see a remix on Abracadabra or The Beast. Also Kesha’s current touring mate. Addison Rae- has had some success and recorded and released Nothing On But The Radio. She’s clearly ARTPOP influenced and I could hear her on something like Garden of Eden of How Bad. Janelle Monae- talented singer/actress that is non-binary heavily inspired by Prince, MJ, and Bowie in her work. She would sound great on The Beast, Shadow, KFL, Killa, or DCT. Chappel Roan- one of the biggest recent stars clearly Gaga influenced and Gaga wants to support the younger stars. I could see her on a song like Vanish Into You, Lovedrug, or How Bad. Gaga wants to work with her. Billie Eilish- similar reasons to Chappell but I have a harder time hearing her on tracks from Mayhem. Charli XCX- I could hear on songs like Garden of Eden but she was on the last remix album but that was before BRAT. So I’m less inclined. Demi Lovato- clearly a fan and talented but I’m not a big Disney fan so not that interested but it could work. The Weeknd- I could hear him on Garden of Eden, Kill for Love, Shadow of a Man, The Beast, etc and it would work well. He did remix Marry The Night so I’m unsure if she would want to do another collab. Janet Jackson- given her legacy, Shadow of a Man would work well but her recent political comments and questioning Kamala Harris being black makes me think it wouldn’t go over well. Gwen Stefani- Gaga is obviously a big fan and influenced by her but Gwen’s MAGA turn after dating Blake Shelton leaves a similar taste in my mouth as Janet. thoughts on any of the above listed and what artists would you like to see? I’d also like to see a country artist on Blade of Grass but hard to say. Curious if there any producer suggestions, maybe The Dare or other electronic artists.
