  1. this isn't deep enough of an issue for you to be insulting her like that if you can't appreciate her at her joanne, you don't deserve her at her mayhem

  3. Ew way too many haters. It was obvious she was gonna do all her albums, so why the drama? Grow up.

  4. Yeah, god forbid an artist write about the way intergenerational trauma shaped her life and her relationship with her father, right?

  7. Andrew Watt spoke to People Magazine and shared some very interesting information about the process of creating MAYHEM! […] Gaga and [her fiancé] Michael Polansky invited me over their house before we started the album. It was after we did the Stones [collab] together [“Sweet Sounds of Heaven.”] I was sitting with them and was playing a couple tracks that I had, and things started flowing from her. We just decided to get into the studio soon after that. She has done so many different types of music throughout her career. There's nothing she can't do. So when we went to make this album, I think we were touching on all of [the genres she’s covered]. As an artist, she's always learning, always evolving, always pushing herself. The work ethic is out of this world. And it just became apparent from the stuff that we started making that we were making a dance album. […] She's there thinking about the entire world she's going to build when she does a song. There's layers to what she does. First, she has to figure out the notes and the lyrics and the vibe of what she's going to do and create that. That, for a lot of people, is where it ends. You write a song, you put your vocal on it. Boom, that's it. Not for Gaga. She then takes that song home, figures out which part of her is going to sing the narrative, how she has to sing it. Does she have to sing it harder? Does she have to sing it softer? How is she going to deliver the vocal? She learns every inflection of what she did and comes back [and] sings it for hours and hours until she finds the right character. Then you're trying to have a conversation with her, and she's not there. She went somewhere, and then she comes back, she's like, "Sorry, I was thinking about how this is going to look on stage, how this is the world that I'm going to build for this." She sees every single detail of what her art is going to be and how grand a scale it's going to become. It's unlike anyone else I've ever worked with. He also talked about Perfect Celebrity and DWAS. 8. Let's celebrate this gem!! It's been 20 years since her 2005 performance of No Floods during the NYC Columbus Day Parade. She was 19. Always brings me to the brink of tears how much she has accomplished in 20 years. A star truly was born.

  15. Genuine question for Joanne haters, have you guys ever been moved by another person's love? I don't understand how the sincerity in the album could just fly past you so easily like this.

  16. People acting like the album is a piece of sh*t get over yourselves

  17. Why the f*ck are some of y'all acting surprised? We knew this was going to happen eventually. Admittedly, I'm surprised cause I thought she was going to do The Fame or Chromatica next, but it's not like she wasn't going to do Joanne. Joanne's severely hated by this fanbase anyway. The music's not bad at all, it's just vastly different than anything else she's done before. Get over yourselves

  20. yes omg when Michael fired him and he looked at Gaga with his puppy face and he said "but you told me we're in this forever, that as long as you're singing, nothing ever gonna tear us apart, even love, can you at least tell me why?" And she just stood there, with tears in her eyes and she said "love is like a brick u can build a house or sink a dead body, you are the dead body, but I will always love you" IT BROKE ME

  23. The Life of a Showgirl debuts with 4.002 million equivalent album units. Of that sum, pure album sales total 3,479,500. Those are the largest weekly sums for an album, by both equivalent album units and pure album sales, since Luminate started electronically collecting data in 1991, beginning the modern era of weekly music tabulation. Previously, the modern-era records for single-week equivalent album units, and pure album sales, for an album were set by the opening frame of Adele’s 25, with 3.482 million units, of which 3.378 million were pure album sales, in November 2015. Of The Life of a Showgirl’s 4.002 million first-week equivalent album units, pure album sales (purchases of the physical and digital versions of the album) comprise 3,479,500 and SEA units comprise 522,600 (equaling 680.9 million on-demand official streams of the tracks on the album; it also debuts at No. 1 on Top Streaming Albums). The album has zero TEA units, as none of its tracks were available to purchase individually on digital retail services. (Notably, The Life of a Showgirl is the first album to be No. 1 with no TEA units, and no tracks available to purchase individually, since the Billboard 200 began ranking albums by equivalent album units with the Dec. 13, 2014-dated chart.) The Life of a Showgirl sold 3,479,500 copies in pure album sales in its first week (purchases of digital downloads, CDs, vinyl LPs and cassette tapes). That is the single largest sales week for an album since 1991, when Luminate began electronically tracking music sales. The album sold 2.7 million on its first day, a figure that was likely driven by a significant number of pre-orders for the physical album shipped to customers for arrival on release day, as well as pre-orders of the digital download album that were redeemed on release day. The first-week sales of The Life of a Showgirl were powered by its availability across 38 versions of the album over its first week. There were 27 physical editions and 11 digital download editions. Of the physical editions, there were 16 CDs, two deluxe CD boxed sets containing branded clothing and a CD, eight vinyl LPs and one cassette. Swift also breaks out of a tie with Drake and JAY-Z for the most No. 1 albums among soloists and becomes the sole act with the second-most No. 1s. Only The Beatles, with 19 No. 1s, have more, dating to when the chart began publishing on a regular, weekly basis in 1956.

  30. Stupid Love gets hated on too much imo. I've liked it since the leak where everyone thought it was a reject from BTW The Cure is good too but it chased that annoying tropical house sound of the time and was, apparently, just used to test her streaming strength...which is dumb considering how soon after that, Shallow dominated Between MR and Shallow, we learned that the GP likes her bops but they live for her power ballads

  32. Guys I know it isn't the fanbases fav album (i'm guessing based off what I see here)- but please remember it is the song she sings AFTER an encore and it is still a track from one of her records to celebrate her discography. I know it can be more fun to have a more well-known/well-received song but it also is just as special any time... I'm sure that every time this happens there is at least someone there who needed that song. Just be excited or try to still appreciate the entire show, and don't let the bow song ruin your attitude to the show

  34. Not sure if this has been posted before, but I just found this video of Gaga performing LoveGame at a party in 2008 — in a staircase because there was no stage. “That time (May 16, 2008) I saw Lady Gaga perform in a small bar in New York City for a friend’s birthday. That was the original discostick. And yes, she was performing on the stairs because there was no stage.“ She went from a staircase to 2 million people in Brasil. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DPppYHrCe3Y/?igsh=a2NraWhxOXJmd3Qy

  36. She’s already doing a 30 songs killer show with amazing visuals and her best music and some fans still complain about a song she plays at the end from an album they don’t like?? Girl a lot of us couldn’t even get tickets, give me one and she can play Katy Perry at the end if she wants.
