I read a bit about it and he didn't seem to say anything overly insensitive... maybe something to be disagreed with by some. But between him and Colbert, it now seems kinda obvious that certain people are trying to get rid of comedians who don't say everything a certain individual wants to hear to fit his own ideas, and that's how we know it has gotten bad!27 points

Sorry if this is just me but iv'e seen so many clips of (mostly) younger girls screaming their lungs out to every damn word and song so that people just can't enjoy the show. Don't get me wrong, I dance, sing, cry at Gagas shows too and if my fave song comes up I might do a little shout of joy! But to scream bloody murder for an entire show and making everyone's ears bleed just doesn't seem "real" to me. Just attention-seeking. I mean ... The person who screams like that can't even hear Gaga herself? Seems like wasted money.. For yourself and everyone around you. Enjoy the show, by all means, but don't ruin it for everyone! Damn!22 points

The book has been officially delivered Thank you again to my bestie @ChicaSkas and the talented @antonique (for the third time I think? ). It was seriously great working on this project with the two of you. Rallying our little pocket community and transferring the devotion, stories, and love of GGD's Monsters to the page for Gaga to physically hold in those talented hands of hers is probably the coolest thing I've ever been a part of. And thank you to the 100+ people that sent a letter. I hope our stories find a permanent place on Mother Monster's bookshelf I love you all!21 points

CEO Michael Rapino and Smith Entertainment Group CEO Ryan Smith said this week that live events are more central than ever to culture and commerce in a post-pandemic world. According to Goldman Sachs, the live music industry is expected to grow at a 7.2% compounded annual rate through 2030, fueled by Millennials and Gen Z. Smith bought the NBA’s Utah Jazz in 2020 and launched a new NHL franchise in the state in 2024. “In sports, we’re really media companies,” Smith said. “We’ve got talent, we’ve got distribution. We’re putting on a show or a wedding or something every night.” Rapino also emphasized how the economics of music have shifted. With streaming revenue dwarfed by touring income, live shows have become a primary source of revenue for artists. “The artist is going to make 98% of their money from the show,” he said. “We just did Beyonce’s tour. She’s got 62 transport trucks outside. That’s a Super Bowl she’s putting on every night.” Despite headlines about rising ticket prices, Rapino argued that concerts are still underpriced compared to sporting events. “In sports, I joke it’s like a badge of honor to spend [$70,000] for Knicks courtside,” Rapino said. “When you read about the ticket prices going up, it’s still an average concert price [of] $72. Try going to a Laker game for that, and there’s 80 of them [in a season].” The cost of admission for movies, theaters and concerts rose 3.4% in August from a year earlier, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ consumer price index data, outpacing the full index’s increase of 2.9%. Meanwhile, the cost of admission for sporting events last month fell 0.5%, compared to the same time last year. Rapino also said technology, including AI-driven ticketing, could make buying tickets smoother. “Most websites are going to be challenged in the future, as you’re going to use that chatbot,” Rapino said. “We think ticketing, and how you find that ticket and how you can get that ticket, needs to be improved.” https://www.cnbc.com/2025/09/17/live-nation-ceo-demand-concert-tickets-underpriced.html18 points

Analysis to Total Chart Points: New figures (Sep 14, 2025) Candle In The Wind 1997: 21,314,000 (no further growth, song is “closed”) Blinding Lights: 21,290,000 (same) Die With A Smile: 19,714,000 Growth of Die With A Smile Previous total (Sep 7, 2025): 19,541,000 New total (Sep 14, 2025): 19,714,000 → +173,000 in one week So the track is still gaining over 150k per week, even after earlier signs of decline. Gap to close vs. Blinding Lights: 21,290,000 − 19,714,000 = 1,576,000 points vs. Candle In The Wind: 21,314,000 − 19,714,000 = 1,600,000 points Time needed at current pace At +173k per week: 1,576,000 ÷ 173,000 ≈ 9.1 weeks Expected crossover: mid-November 2025, when Die With A Smile should surpass both Blinding Lights and Candle In The Wind to become #1 all-time. 👉 Conclusion: Despite slight downward trends, the weekly increase is still strong (+173k). If this pace continues, Die With A Smile will likely reach #1 on the all-time chart by mid-November 2025. Conclusion: DWAS will become the highest charting song of all time (if nothing weird happens before that time)12 points

It was so genius of Gaga to open Coachella/The Art of Personal Chaos with Bloody Mary to Abracadabra to Judas. That was so serious & HUGE. These 3 hits TRENDED ONLINE THIS DECADE, it was a perfect way to reconnect with early fans AND connect with new fans from another generation. Thank goodness she stayed with that perfect opening from Coachella to THE MAYHEM Ball. Spotify streams for those 3 dark-pop hits: Title - Total streams (+daily) Judas - 940,365,915 (+924,909) Bloody Mary - 710,987,195 (+462,345) Abracadabra - 564,923,765 (+1,118,413) Come through Halloween boost.12 points

Just out of curiosity - do you realise the unequivocal exemple set for the state of the democracy by this and whose threats led to this?12 points

I don't understand why people say that Abracadabra is the only song that harkens back to her "signature style". To me, every song sounds like classic Gaga, even the less popular ones like Don't Call Tonight. Gaga is a multi faceted artist and she's at home in a plethora of genres. I dont get why people try to place her in a synthpop shaped box when she's done so much more from the very beginning of her career ALSO If the whole thing was dark industrial electronic pop, y'all would have complained that it's repetitive. We have 3 disco funk songs (Zombieboy, TDD and Kill for Love) and that's too much for some people. The first 4-5 songs stand out because there is contrast on the album.12 points

She also said this in the Zane Lowe interview, I think. Would love to hear what else she worked on tbh. Give us some tracks from the vault, sister!!11 points

https://www.cnbc.com/2025/09/17/charlie-kirk-jimmy-kimmel-abc-disney.html https://www.cnn.com/2025/09/17/media/jimmy-kimmel-charlie-kirk-trump-fcc-brendan-carr The CNN article said: During his Monday evening monologue, Kimmel suggested Kirk’s alleged killer, Tyler Robinson, might have been a pro-Trump Republican. “The MAGA Gang (is) desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said. “In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving.” It really doesn't seem to be anything as insensitive or awful as some people are making it out to be, but to each their own11 points

Did you watch the clip, Tamar? “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it.” Care to point out where the “celebration” is in this sentence? I don’t care for the crass or poor taste comments mocking the man’s death coming from anyone. I don’t condone them. Jimmy’s comments were far from being offensive and definitely not celebrating anything or anyone.10 points

I love it all. And anyone who feels like the rest of the music isn’t signature Gaga music is clearly discounting the vast majority of her catalogue. For every Poker Face, there’s a Money Honey and The Fame (the song). But I also could use more Abra and Disease like music.10 points

Sept 17 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday said he was designating the left-wing, anti-fascist Antifa movement as a terrorist organization, in a move following the assassination of right-wing political activist Charlie Kirk. "I will also be strongly recommending that those funding ANTIFA be thoroughly investigated in accordance with the highest legal standards and practices," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
