  1. https://www.billboard.com/music/chart-beat/lady-gaga-the-dead-dance-hot-100-debut-1236067933/ Billboard wrote a nice article on Gagas recent accomplishments including mentioning how she just had the first album since ARTPOP to score four top 40 hits on billboard hot 100!

  2. I don't understand why people say that Abracadabra is the only song that harkens back to her "signature style". To me, every song sounds like classic Gaga, even the less popular ones like Don't Call Tonight. Gaga is a multi faceted artist and she's at home in a plethora of genres. I dont get why people try to place her in a synthpop shaped box when she's done so much more from the very beginning of her career ALSO If the whole thing was dark industrial electronic pop, y'all would have complained that it's repetitive. We have 3 disco funk songs (Zombieboy, TDD and Kill for Love) and that's too much for some people. The first 4-5 songs stand out because there is contrast on the album.

  3. An independent United Nations inquiry has concluded for the first time that Israel has committed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza and that the country’s top leaders have incited genocide, in what it described as the “most authoritative UN finding to date.” In a 72-page report released on Tuesday, the commission, which was set up by the UN Human Rights Council (HRC), found that Israel has “committed four genocidal acts” in the enclave since October 7, 2023, when Hamas carried out deadly attacks on Israel and Israel launched its military campaign. These acts include the killing of Palestinians in Gaza, causing Palestinians “serious bodily and mental harm,” “deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part,” and “imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group,” according to the report. Nearly 65,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since October 7, according to the Palestinian health ministry there. The ministry does not distinguish between civilians and fighters but has said that most of the casualties are women and children. The Israeli government has maintained it is conducting the war in Gaza in self-defense and in accordance with international law, firmly denying accusations of genocide. 8. I mean, 2.2M streams is good, don't get me wrong, I hope this increases tomorrow and increases every day until Friday because otherwise we'll get a big pretty hit on Saturday and Sunday that will be hard to recover from. But we are really suffering from sucess lately, we had DWAS breaking records daily, we had Abra doing insane numbers while being a global smash and a cultural moment , we are suffering from sucess so much that we find a 2.2M update underwhelming. That says more about her insane sucess this era with MAYHEM than says about TDD's own sucess.

  13. NEW YORK (AP) — A New York judge on Tuesday threw out terrorism charges against Luigi Mangione, rejecting the Manhattan district attorney’s theory in a state murder case that the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was “intended to evoke terror.” Judge Gregory Carro kept other charges in place, including a second-degree murder count that requires prosecutors to prove Mangione intended to kill Thompson but not that he was doing so as an act of terrorism. The ruling eliminated the top two charges in Mangione’s state case, sparing him the possibility of a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole. The 27-year-old Ivy League graduate is also facing a parallel federal death penalty prosecution. Carro said the defense’s argument that the dueling prosecutors amounted to double jeopardy was premature. 17. "Learning to navigate delicate situations also helped Ronson's career as a producer. There's an almost too-perfect example in Lady Gaga's documentary Five Foot Two where, arriving for a recording session, the star crashes into Ronson's car. Mortified, she enters the studio in a garbled flurry of apologies. Ronson simply stretches out his arms for a conciliatory hug. "If you have a problem, I wish you'd just say it to my face instead of my bumper," he deadpans. The situation is immediately defused. Reminded of the scene, he says: "I remember working on that record [2016's Joanne] pretty well, and Lady Gaga is probably one of the most chased, hounded, paparazzi-ed people you could imagine. "Sometimes we'd slam the door and there'd be 20 people on the other side taking pictures. So my role is just to shut out the outside world [and] make the artist feel relaxed and comfortable at all times. "Even when they've trashed your car."

  18. I love it all. And anyone who feels like the rest of the music isn’t signature Gaga music is clearly discounting the vast majority of her catalogue. For every Poker Face, there’s a Money Honey and The Fame (the song). But I also could use more Abra and Disease like music.

  21. Attorney General Pam Bondi said the Trump administration will be "targeting" hate speech, which she differentiated from free speech — and then tried to walk it back a day later. "There’s free speech and then there’s hate speech," Bondi said in an interview with "The Katie Miller Podcast" that aired Monday, appearing to shrug off First Amendment concerns. Asked if the Justice Department would be cracking down on groups that engage in such speech, Bondi said, “We will absolutely target you, go after you, if you are targeting anyone with hate speech, anything — and that’s across the aisle.” “You can’t have that hate speech in the world in which we live,” she said. "There is no place, especially now, especially after what happened to Charlie, in our society,” Bondi said, referring to Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist who was assassinated on a college campus in Utah last week. Kirk took the opposite position on such speech in a post on X last year. "Hate speech does not exist legally in America. There’s ugly speech. There’s gross speech. There’s evil speech. And ALL of it is protected by the First Amendment. Keep America free," he wrote. In an interview later Monday with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Bondi said that "we all believe in the First Amendment," but that people who've said "horrible things" about Kirk in the days since his murder should be held to account. "It’s free speech, but you shouldn’t be employed anywhere if you’re going to say that. And employers, you have an obligation to get rid of people. You need to look at people who are saying horrible things, and they shouldn’t be working with you," she said. President Donald Trump seemed unconcerned about the remarks when asked about them Tuesday by a reporter for ABC News. “We’ll probably go after people like you because you treat me so unfairly. It’s hate. You have a lot of hate in your heart. Maybe they’ll come after ABC,” Trump said. “Maybe they’ll have to go after you,” he added. 24. Mayhem Ball. Coughing baby vs. atomic bomb. There is no comparison. Mayhem Ball is the potential of Mayhem as an album played out to its fullest extent. It is bar none the most thematically realized, coherent, and complex show she has ever done. It takes the path the album set her on and completes the journey. ArtRave doesn't even come close to hitting the potential for theme, visuals, and experience that an album like ARTOP had. I would go so far as to say she got closer to succeeding in that department with the promotional shows than she did with the tour itself.

  29. The Fame gets help charting because all streams/sales for TFM also contribute to TF charting. There is some weird Billboard loophole where they add both of the albums together. Its bc they consider tfm to be a deluxe extension of The Fame (even though its an entirely separate LP) So when The Fame charts its because it has 7 smash singles contributing to its units.

  34. i really admire how she fully commits to doing a true world tour and to visit the markets where she knows she has fans and is appreciated. The tour has been a relative success despite the commercial underperformance of her album, and it's because she didn't give up on this era. Gotta hand it to her, girlie works hard

  44. People need to understand LATAM doesn’t have the infrastructure nor professionalism to bring these massive artists. And I say that as a Latin American myself who works in the business. A lot of the times countries simply do not have the state of the art equipment that make up these huge stages, and renting them is expensive, or the artist has to bring them (which cuts profit). That’s why we usually get modified and watered down stages, because it’s the only way to put the show without losses. Then you have the fact that LiveNation doesn’t exist here, or representation is much more limited than other countries, so they have to find local production companies to put on the show, and that’s where lack of permits, delays and **** happens, because we just don’t have the qualified personnel to handle it all. There’s little music industry down here that isn’t local acts with small performances, so it really REALLY is hard to bring these A-list stars while keeping the integrity of the show intact. And taxes here are crazy. In my country the artist has to forfeit like 30% of the tickets just to play here. It’s simply not an attractive place to play from the business aspect. Now, would it have been nice for Arianna to foot the bill herself or play at a loss? Yes, but at the end of that day it’s still a business to her and her partners, and it makes no sense to spend 2 Million dollars in shipment and putting on the show if your profit is going to barely let you break even or even lose a few thousand bucks.
