some comments on this topic just make me sad ngl what's this obsession of over-analyzing everything she does. She never re-invented the wheel but what's happening with ava is tragic, she does not deserve this career trajectory and I really feel bad for her, hope she tunes social media out. Diamonds and dancefloors still remains one of the most fun pop albums ever and this album is not bad, not on the same level of her previous works but considering her back luck with her label and management we should be a bit more supportive, hope she bounces back even stronger cause she has the strength to do it.

The last time I remember her using something more unusual was in the Chromatica ball debut and press conference, and maybe 1 NYC look around the SNL time. And that's totally fine IMO, this era has a distinct style and she is pulling it off spectacularly, it's fair to say this is the best she has looked in many years, she doesn't need to look avant guarde to impress. I for one really like this more subdued side and I think it reflects more who she is, and that's one of the messages of MAYHEM, I think it fits very well with this era. This is not to say she can't look avant guard, she's IS the fashion icon of the 21st century, but she doesn't need to prove it anymore, and she still has her moments: ( this is pre MAYHEM though) And even during the MAYHEM era she had her moments too:

It's awesome to see Mayhem tracks being sprinkled around media like this. I was at Hershey Park yesterday and LoveDrug started playing throughout the park. As a LoveDrug stan, I was surprised and excited as if I had requested the song personally. Either way, I found myself humming the song the rest of the day!

I in fact did click play… could only get through the first 4/5 songs…. The lyrics — feel like I could have written them all aged 8 in my bedroom, pretending to be a popstar The music — all the songs sound the same, there’s no artistry, colour, nothing interesting The voice — monotone, same throughout… Sorry but this feels like a rich housewife paid a group of producers to make her an album and she wrote the lyrics whilst at her nail appointment…

Y'all should be ashamed for thinking this was a publicity stunt tbh. That kind of thinking is incredibly callous and apathetic. I hope he gets the help he needs.
