I can't believe I just found out about this. I was reading up some release dates of Lady Gagas songs on Wikipedia, and I found this message: "On November 9, 2011, there was an emergency alert test that activated at 2 p.m. EST. However, DirecTV users didn't hear the 3-tone beep first, and the song was played instead." I looked this up and it's actually real : https://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2011/11/national-emergency-alert-test-total-failure Apparently this was a part of a larger EAS issue during the test; some stations ran the test for way longer than 30 seconds. I think the Lady Gaga based mistake was due to it being a radio station involved with DirectTV?9 points

Y’all. Need. To. Stop. Complaining. That. She’s. Not. “Doing.” “Enough.” The song is connected to Wednesday, so they're waiting until it’s closer to Part 2 to release it. They haven’t even showed us Gaga in character yet, so obviously they’re not going to tease or release the song now. We’ll get it in a few weeks AT MOST.7 points

Just Another Day I usually listen to full albums so that's the end of the "Joanne hour" and it's an emotional ride JAD kinda gives me those "man, life is just absurd sometimes" giggles. Like when you're so sad you laugh 'cause it's ridiculous that things can be this hard sometimes? Idk how to describe it7 points

Hey all, it’s been a while since I’ve made a thread but I really needed to make this thread because it’s blown my mind (although I’m sure many of you may have noticed), although we’ve never seen the full video I think I figured out the actual inspiration behind it- the 1967 movie Valley of the Dolls. today was the first time I’d ever seen the film and I couldn’t help notice MASSIVE inspiration that the video looked like it took. So much as to go as far as Gaga almost entirely remaking Neely’s (the main character) “rise to fame” montage from her being in elaborate photo shoots and sets to an entire exercise segment where she works out in front of a blue wall, in borderline underwear (for the 60s anyway) while male figures look on and surround her in almost every scene. Sound familiar? That entire scene is recreated with the Terry paper photoshoot and the exercise segment that TMZ leaked. The film also shows the effects of drugs and alcohol on the main character and not in a glamorous way (Terry’s BTS of her at the tour throwing up, suffering with her hip etc) and the character is essentially a famous woman who becomes less famous or “over” (once again sound familiar for the AP era?). So yeah I fully think the video is entirely inspired by the film and I’ve seen a lot of coincidences between the film and the video. (There’s even a scene similar to Gaga going under on a hospital bed but in a psyche ward in the film). So yeah just wanted to share my thoughts.6 points

Don’t know if she’s “dragging her feet” when this thing is clearly connected to Wednesday. I wouldn’t be surprised if Netflix’s team has just as much say in the promotion of the single as she does. They’re clearly waiting until part 2 drops.6 points

jokes aside, I wonder how she feels on the inside, she’s been pushing the strong gal facade and, of course, she has a world tour going on which she can’t just cancel the whole thing… but she’s dealing with commercial failure (not her first time too), the heavy criticism, losing her husband and becoming a single mother As someone who grew up listening to her, I feel bad for her even though I didn’t support her last era at all. I think she might not recover from all of this and I don’t think her career can survive a years-long hiatus6 points

a tweet from a French journalist who got the album to review: https://x.com/mi_haita/status/1955379084558733398 "She's a sample singing Gaga imitation But can't Kings & Queens look good with poker faces? I'm lovin' myself even if you hate it" She probably wrote this song after this:5 points

Honestly it feels really ill taste to just constantly tear down a woman. Yeah her working with Dr. Luke is despicable but HE is the one that should be ridiculed. I think people, especially gay men, love to have an opportunity to tear down women and throw tomatoes at them. Whether its her love life, her age, her career etc. There are a countless amount of male celebrities that do way worse things, and they deal with less scrutiny than she and many other female celebrities do.5 points

Some of you are about to be really mad, especially COADF stans, but it must be said (I have been listening to all these albums for years, and these are my personal, sincere rankings that I ended up with) Madonna - ⭐★★★★ dated record, uninteresting and musically bland, nothing to offer Like a Virgin - ⭐★★★★ nothing burger, messy, historical artifact, doesn't communicate to the listener True Blue - ⭐⭐★★★ dated, musically flat, uninteresting, bland Like a Prayer - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ artistic masterpiece, triumphal, 1980s magnum opus Erotica – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐horney conceptual masterpiece but still qualitative blend of genres Bedtime Stories – ⭐★★★★ career filler, not a lot to offer to the listener, little to no personality Ray of Light – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ conceptual masterpiece, show-stopping, spectacular, legendary Music – ⭐⭐★★★ mostly career filler, unimpressive, mid record American Life – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐misunderstood conceptual masterpiece that was ahead of its time, 2000s magnum opus Confessions on a Dance Floor – ⭐⭐★★★ mid quality, musically uninteresting and overhyped Hard Candy – ⭐⭐⭐★★ has weaknesses, but classic Madonna with some undeniablely great songs MDNA – ★★★★★ awful, tragic, a mess Rebel Heart – ⭐⭐⭐★★ not perfect, but solid, consistent and qualitative, 2010s magnum opus Madame X - ⭐⭐★★★ an attempt has been made, overall ambitious but messy & musically weak4 points

FINALLY a good album cover this year! If the music is as iconic as the album title, cover and whole vibe they are putting out.. we're gonna die! Wonder if a single is coming this week as well?4 points

her tour was canceled because she parted ways with management. no one cancels a tour 2 weeks after announcement due to sales.4 points

I don’t hate her for scamming her fans, I hate her fans for being stupid enough to be so blatantly scammed lol plus this will encourage other artists to do similar tactics for higher sales/chart positions. SMH.4 points
