The way society treats and views the homeless is truly shameful and beyond belief. Its people forget they are also people??? Also i find this infuriating: "Imprisoning them at $12,000 a month lines the pockets of his private prison allies far more than housing them for just $2,000 a month."24 points

To think we could have had giant Gaga, but they didn't have time to figure out how to enlarge her22 points

People, that's how propaganda works. You don't see the problem. A white, blonde, beautiful woman talking about having great genes in this day and age should ring a bell.21 points

Realistically, how much do you think prison helps people with substance abuse issues? It doesn't. Prison does absolutely nothing for the public but invite recidivism, stigma, and the feeling we might be doing something good. People that abuse drugs need to go to facilities that are actually equipped to help rehabilitate. They need clean needles. They need access to healthcare. They need access to Narcan. They need a space where they can detox safely, not thrown in boxes with a bunch of other people in unsanitary conditions with a bunch of guards that don't give a damn about them.15 points

I’d recommend seeing it just for the pure comedy. If these were different times I’d say, ok I get it. But when fascism in the US is rising and racist ideology making a comeback an ad like this rubs the wrong way.14 points

To people not getting why people are criticizing this: it's like when marriage equality was in the courts during election season and republican candidates suddenly started emphasizing their spouse and children while talking about "family values". Not necessarily a spooky bad thing on its face until you realize in context it's a backhanded way to say they're against marriage equality. Now, fascism in America is on the rise and literal nazis in government are being more open about their intentions. The president is talking about immigrants "poisoning the blood of our country". Trad wives are setting trends on tiktok. The intelligence of Black and Brown governmental candidates are being discounted because their ethnic features don't adhere to eurocentric beauty standards. "Low IQ" is now a go-to insult more conservative people use on others belonging to minority groups. And now we're getting multiple cheeky national adverts with conventionally attractive white people talking their "desirable" genetic makeup. Eugenics. It's dogwhistling eugenics. Race theory that masquerades as science to justify white supremacy. That's why advertisements suddenly popping up with "hot" white people bragging about their genes is gross and messed up.13 points

Agreed. I, more specifically, miss living in Germany between 1933-1945 when this type of rhetoric was encouraged!10 points

In this context, you sound like an idiot. No offense though10 points
-
I’m sorry but I really think people are reaching with this one and trying to link it to some rhetoric that it isn’t. It’s just a play on words? I don’t understand this obsession with trying to find ways to be offended, do people not have good discernment anymore?10 points

Some of you are come off as so dense, good God. Everyone knows the joke is she’s hot and has great genes (jeans). The point is they also sprinkled subtle Nazi/eugenics in there. They could have done literally the SAME THING but included models of other races also saying “X has great jeans” and done a whole campaign with that slogan. But they didn’t. They knew this would cause controversy. These people aren’t stupid. Dunkin’ is doing the same thing with mentioning genetics. This is not a coincidence. Just remember where these companies were as a criminal racist is in power in the US and fascist ideologies are creeping into all facets of US society. When the pendulum swings back to the left some of us won’t forget.9 points
-
Dunkin also just released an ad with a white dude talking about his genetics. Feels weird. Kinda feels like more nazi rhetoric getting normalized. And Sydney didn't write the script but with how she treated the family bday party drama and the bath water soap collab? At BEST she's playing into the right wing crowd for a bag. Not great to see.9 points

1) If Manchild wins anything I will burn all my belongings and turn into a turtle 2) same for me, Bad Bunny is the only artist I would feel ok getting ROTY, SOTY, and AOTY over Gaga DtMF, the song and the album, are extremely important cultural and historical moments for latin music and Puerto Rico! Bad Bunny is shifting the world's perspective of latino culture in an important way. Plus he's hot. Plus his music is built from a lineage of indigenous artists, Latin music, carribean music, rap, and pop music. Wether or not it's a person's cup of tea, I am comfortable saying Bad Bunny is an important global artist creating global change subverting stereotypes and making people DANCE.8 points

Lol what?! I’m not even a massive fan, but Pink Pony Club is #15 on the Hot 100 in its 58th week right now - how can the “tanking” have even begun, let alone been significant enough to have earned a “quickest ever” description? In the last year, she had 2 singles spend over 1 year and reach #4 on the Hot 100, was nominated for several Grammys including all of the Big 4 and won Best New Artist… Just because she decided to release 1 (and now a 2nd) random single while her debut album and its singles continue to perform well instead of sitting quietly doesn’t mean she’s “tanked.” How ridiculous. Despite having been performed for months and being a 180 in sound, The Giver still debuted at #5, which shows just how much people are interested in her new stuff. If she announced a brand new song as the lead single of her 2nd album, and released it along with the usual promo (video, playlists, physicals, etc.), there’s no way it wouldn’t debut Top 5 and be a massive hit.8 points

So sad that even concerts became a way to squeeze money out of us.. nobody should make this amount of money from a tour. I'm sure many of you feels this anger when u think about how much u spent to see Gaga and maybe there's a little voice that tells you to just sell it and f-ck everything.. I know I'm gonna enjoy the show, but the price was too much and I kinda regret buying the tickets. Congrats Bey I guess, hoard that damned money in your bank, hopefully one day some brave president will tax the sh-t out of you and all the disgusting rich people in America.8 points

A fitting reply to high horse riders in an age of performative activism And for the umpteenth time, stop looking up to celebrities for any political solution7 points
-
I love that ending. It has a bite to it. All those who spend their time on the internet just Yapping and pretending to be on a high horse cause they post more about the topic than anyone else should take several seats when that mentality starts to buzz. Those who are actively shifting ground and energy to help Palestine deserve all the attention that all these social media activists beg for. (I also dont mean to minimize what social media activists do. Many of them spread awareness and their work is essential as well.) I am speaking about the ones who spend time pointing fingers at others cause they want to force a reaction out of the person they are ridiculing.7 points

I think for us - consumers it's nothing to be proud of. The only ones cheering for this are beehives toxic personas from X. I want to go to concerts, I want to celebrate music and support the artists I like, but everything has its limits. It's just a concert. Milking customers, fans, and casual listeners—that's not the way to go.7 points
