The Fame Monster (solo) / ~5.8M 4. A Star Is Born / ~4M 5. The Fame (excluding 🇨🇦´s early release) / ~3.5M 6. ARTPOP / ~2.4M We’re doing great! It doesn’t feel like we’re doing THAT great ´cause the times are different and the music industry and consuming don’t work the same way, but damn, I didn’t realize how hard MAYHEM is smashing.

I personally do not think it is her best song because she has many more that I adore. But, it is, by far, the most "Gaga" song she has. The music, the vocals, the lyrics, the weirdness, the fierceness, the "out there". And the first full taste of what was to come later... The RahRah is like the chant that gave birth to the beast, to the Monster, to Mother Monster... I never followed mainstream music, I didnt care, I didnt even know who Gaga was, and I still vividly remember when I heard part of it for the first time, I was in the subway, and someone was playing it on their phone, and I remember my first reaction when I heard that chant... I was like "wtf is that? Wtf is wrong with music nowadays", I can even say I hated it at first... but deep down, I was intrigued and I couldnt get it out of my head... so a few days later I decided to sit down, listen to it in full, listen to more stuff by this weird girl that had this weird deep voice... and here I am, 15 years later, as obsessed as I was back then...

Not all the Chromatica hate it’s not her best album but it’s by no means terrible. 911 is one of the best songs on the album too imo, it’s beautifully written and you really get inside Gaga’s mind. Anyway, I doubt she’s the only one reposting videos on her account because it’s just too many reposts lol.

I can’t really get behind the idea that Chromatica and Joanne are categorically bad, but I do agree that she wasn’t firing on all cylinders at those times in the way she is now. But tbh I think they served very necessary functions in her career + development as an artist, are still very good albums, and I don’t think MAYHEM would really have been possible without either of them.
