Disease is this kind of song that no one in the main pop business beside her could make it work. Vocals, commitment, crazy NiN type instrumental, the whole vibe. This is definitely a gem on the album.

Random thought but after 5 months of Mayhem, Abracadabra has grown on me so much and has taken the #1 spot on the album. It's such a crazy song and it should not work... a house beat with hard techno interruptions, opera singing, lyrics that make no sense, music made out of random syllables that shouldn't sound good? And yet it sounds incredible, fresh... complete impact. I hope she wins SOTY if she doesn't take home AOTY, I can see why the Grammy prediction people had her at #1 for this song over ROTY.

This song is kinda genius? Lady Gaga is showing us once more that she’s ahead of the game.. Madonna/ Taylor/ Katy/ Sabrina could never pull off a song like this. When it hits, it really HITS, like a gothic/ alien/ body horror video game and my skin becomes clearer with every listen. A new experience I didn’t know I needed. 10/10. I liked the music video at first but I think she should have gone with the aesthetics of the lyric video. 6/10. I’m actually coming to terms with Mayhem’s chaotic sound. It’s a bit of everything but also showing that Lady Gaga excels at all of it. The woman is a musical genius. I remember a comment somewhere that said Disease will revive in the future and I believe that. Her time will come.

I will not tolerate the 2016-2019 ARTPOP erasure. That coachella intro from her 2017 show was insane! Aura, Partysick, Swineeeee all mixed into one!! I am also willing to bet her original setlist for 2017 RIR would've had a lot of ARTPOP deep cuts too, similar to Coachella. We also got the full AURA at Enigma. However, I'll take the 2025 version because it's clear Gaga was not in the healthiest state during 2019. Anyways, I think she remembers ARTPOP guys. Maybe she really was in psychosis state when she tweeted the infamous "I DON'T REMEMBER KOONS BALL" .

Gaga definitely lost confidence in her artistry after ARTPOP, I think she was fine in the first half of 2015 and then it all went downhill until The Chromatica Ball. She still gave us great music and art in general, but there was a little something that felt off. Around 2019, you could tell she was desperately trying to be GAGA again but she didn’t feel good and it looked quite forced, almost like a parody, while she was shining at Jazz & Piano (despite subconsciously being quite GAGA there.) I think the 2021 petition for ARTPOP Act II as well as Bloody Mary smashing made her gain that confidence back, she’s strong enough to be fully herself in her artistry, and that resulted in MAYHEM.

This. Tbh I think we were so burnt out from the pre-era and waiting, JFAD reception, etc that a lot of fans just slept on it. From the Spotify songs + playlist tease to the Disease website, it was so refreshing to see them try something new. It really fed the hardcore fans. As far as the song, still in my top 3 on the album. I really hope the rumored deluxe is ALL this vibe. Still disappointed we didn't get more dark vibes.
