In a statement shared on a Googe Doc this afternoon, Cain took accountability for her actions while also clarifying some allegations that she said were fabricated. A screenshot from Q&A social media platform Curious Cat showed that in November 2017, someone anonymously asked Cain if she had ever said the n-word before. I'm glad she didnt stay silent about the racist posts and her statement about that is very well worded. It's rare to see celebrities take accountability and apologize so sincerely. That being said, it's not my place to accept her apology or not but the response seems positive from what I've seen. As for the rest... I truly fucking hate transphobes beyond belief. To force her to reveal such traumatic and personal information about herself and her past because a group of disgusting people decided to twist her art and make them into such horrific allegations is so pathetic and I feel terrible for her. I hope she manages to recover from that well and that it doesn't lead her to shut down so much that it would affect her art and the way she shares it because she's truly one of the most outspoken artists out there rrn. Stan culture can be so horrible so often and for what?
